The best Fantasy Premier League (FPL) goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards for Double Gameweek 33 are debated by our regular panel.

ABOUT THE SCOUT SQUAD

Everything you ever wanted to know about the FPL Bonus Point System - part one

Fantasy Football Scout contributors Az, Sam, Neale and Tom each propose an 18-man squad of Fantasy players with the focus solely on the upcoming Gameweek.

Their selections serve as a long list for the Scout Picks, as the players nominated will then be narrowed down to a squad of 15 (with the starting XI not exceeding a total cost of £83.5m) for our final weekly selection ahead of Saturday’s deadline.

Each writer must meet the following requirements:

  • At least one goalkeeper costing £5.0m or less
  • At least one sub-£5.0m defender
  • At least one midfielder listed at £6.5m or below
  • At least one forward priced at £7.0m or lower
  • No more than three players from the same club

*If you didn’t see it previously, we’ve started doing a Scout Picks ‘bus team’ earlier in the week in order to share our initial selection thoughts with Fantasy managers who perhaps couldn’t be around closer to the deadline – but we’ll still be publishing our final squad as we were before.

SCOUT SQUAD’S PICK OF THE BEST FPL PLAYERS FOR GAMEWEEK 33

    Play:

    a) Kulu
    b) Bowen
    c) -4 for Barnes, JWP, a Newcastle defender

Either Kulu or Bowen. Don’t spend the 4.

DGW would be the week to spend a -4. Scharr alone could easily outscore 1 of your current defenders by +4. Just offering a counter opinion...

Thoughts on these moves got 2FT?

    A) Salah & Fraser to Fernandes & Maddison

    B) Fraser & Robbo to Maddison & Schar

Basically keep or take out Salah. Still got WC so can get him back next week

Raph or Coutinho out for Maddison?

Sell Raph imo. Villa have Lei in 34, Nor in 35 and could double depending on cup then have doubles in 36 & 37. I certainly wouldn't be selling Cout if I owned.

As for Raph, Leeds have a blank in 33 then tough away game at Selhurst Park in 34 followed by Man City, Arsenal & Chelsea.

Raph is a fantastic player isn't he, pleasure to watch on the pitch & can produce against anyone but all things considered Cout is the one to hold imo. GL in 33 🙂

Had Maddison in my mind for the last couple of weeks but really concerned about rotation given that Leicester's fixture schedule is crazy. Not convinced at all, but reckon Barnes is maybe safer with the number of minutes of late?

Looking at Bowen > Madisson my self

Sensible move in principle but if Maddison doesn't start both then maybe Bowen will outscore? Impossible to know. Best of luck

          • 14 Years
          4 years, 5 days ago

Bit of a risk for sure. Not read why Maddison won't stsrt both. At least he got solid form. Never trusted Barnes.

Yeah i know what you mean. Maddison is class and i would prefer him over Barnes (who i also rate but is inconsistent) but he has played a lot of minutes following many injuries. Maybe you are right, go for the class.

    Playing BB this week, G2G?

    Pope
    TAA Robbo Cancelo
    Salah Saka Kulu Mount Barnes
    Broja Kane
    Foster Mateta Schar White

Salah or Kane (C) - feel like both might haul.

Is Bruno a clearly better captain option than Ronaldo?

    A) Bruno (c) + Wood + James -4
    B) Ronaldo (c) + Eriksen + Robbo

I've just been burned so hard by going Ronaldo over Bruno in GW22 and 25. I lost 50 points just from that decision. I feel like I'm back in the same spot again making the same mistake again. It sucks.

Question is take a hit to do VVD+Gordon to schar+maddison, or just roll the FT? any ideas welcome!

    Pope
    Robertson / VVD / Cancel / Gabriel
    Salah / Saka/ Martinelli / Son
    Kane / Broja

    DDG / Davies / Gordon / Dennis

Thanks mate - yeah i might save FT and have 2 x next week when it might be more beneficial.

Maddison seems to be playing 90 in almost every game, he's bound to need a break at some point, bit worried he might punish me if i don't get him though, i'd like to keep VVD but selling would allow me to have 2 x extra doublers, guess i'll check any team news tomorrow and take it from there...

the keeper, but the rest of the defenders are really a lottery.

Just feels like a punt that is less likely to work out than most other big hitters… United have shown me absolutely nothing to think they can reliably turn it on. Genuinely don’t think they’re playing well enough to feel confident they might put a few past Norwich
