After Son Heung-min and Harry Kane failed to deliver in the early kick-off, there is a great opportunity for Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers without the Spurs premium pair to make ground.

More of the leading captaincy candidates feature in the 3pm kick-offs, with Bukayo Saka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes in action and all starting for their respective clubs.

Arsenal face Southampton at St Mary’s but they will have to do without Alexandre Lacazette this afternoon, as the Frenchman does not make the matchday squad.

He is one of two players replaced from the side that lost to Brighton, with Emile Smith Rowe dropping down to the bench. Nuno Tavares and Eddie Nketiah come into the side.

Ralph Hasenhuttl makes four changes to the Saints side beaten 6-0 by Chelsea, meanwhile.

Armando Broja, Yan Valery, Romain Perraud and Lyanco are all brought into the side as Adam Armstrong, Che Adams, Valentino Livramento and Mohammed Salisu drop to the bench.

Ralf Rangnick has gone for the jugular at Old Trafford, going without an orthodox defensive midfielder for the visit of unchanged Norwich City.

Jesse Lingard, Diogo Dalot, Paul Pogba and Anthony Elanga are all brought into the side at the expense of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Marcus Rashford, Nemanja Matic and the injured Fred.

There is less Fantasy interest in the match at Vicarage Road, where the managers of Watford and Brentford have made only one change apiece.

Emmanuel Dennis replaces the injured Cucho Hernandez for the hosts, while Pontus Jansson recovers from illness and takes Mathias ‘Zanka’ Jorgensen‘s spot at centre-half.

Ronaldo played well because United created chances for him. Its that simple.

Against better teams they struggle to create because the midfield is so unbalanced and they can't control the game.

    1. RogDog_jimmy

Agree in general. But the problem is as much the defense and the forwards as the midfield.

They are such a badly put together team.
The ‘chances’ were a corner, a defensive error, and a free kick. Not exactly created by all that much.

Yes but they were able to play higher up the pitch, increase pressure and make those opportunities. Normally they rely on counter attacks which doesn't work for Ronaldo.

The issue is that the GOAT has 37 years old. If he had Kane's age he would be on 40 goals by now and United would be up there.

Really? Seems a good manager to me, just goes to pieces when he gets injuries to the main 11

            • 10 Years
            4 years, 1 month ago

Nah, good manager can work without everything being perfect. Spent the most money out of all clubs last summer, playing one game a week and as soon as we have 2/3 injuries, our season capitulates.

Oh, and he also gave away our best striker because he went to get a tattoo, leaving us with Nketiah up front in a top 4 race 🙂

            1. @persecuted_by_mods
                4 years, 1 month ago

True it is a knock on him, but when he has his best 11 then you play really good football so maybe with a bit more strength in depth he'd be okay for the season. Think it's very harsh to get rid even if he bottles top 4, the potential is there

Conte walked in and got Spurs top 4. Arteta needs 10 transfer windows and a fully fit squad to do it. It’s pathetic.

They have 2 world class stars, arsenal have some promising kids and had to get rid of their main man because of attitude issues
