Fantasy Football Scout Premium Memberships for 2022/23 are still available at last season’s cost of Â£24.99 â€“ but only for a little while longer.

We have given our users until Friday 1 July to sort out their subscriptions for the new campaign but this really is last-chance saloon territory, as yearly Premium Memberships will rise next month.

So, if you haven’t already, make sure to sign up before that point in order to secure the best-value rate and lock in your price for future seasons.

Speaking of which, if you’re already a rolling subscriber, you’re locked into whatever discounted price you paid last year providing you don’t cancel – so you’re even more quids-in!

The yearly fee of £24.99 works out at an equivalent of Â£2.08 a month as, instead of expiring on June 1 as was previously the case, these rolling annual subscriptions now cover a full 12-month period.

SIGN UP FOR THE NEW SEASON AND LOCK IN YOUR PRICE TODAY

We’re continuing to reinvest resources into the site, from building a team of talented contributors for 2022/23 (see below) to our new-look Premium Members Area.

HOW CAN SCOUT MEMBERSHIP HELP MY FPL TEAM?

You’ll be joining legions of other Fantasy managers by signing up, including former FPL winners Adam Levy, Simon March and Tom Fenley.

Thousands upon thousands of Fantasy bosses take advantage of our subscriptions and sign up every year, using the stats and tools to aid their Gameweek planning.

MEMBERS-ONLY ARTICLES AND ADVICE

You’ll get exclusive content, advice and team reveals from some of the best Fantasy managers in the business, including ex-champion Simon March, three-time top 200 finisher Lateriser, seven-time top 10k finisher Zophar, five-time top 1k finisher Tom Freeman, Burning Questions co-hosts Pras and Sonaldo, 2020/21 FanTeam winner Josh Wooldridge and more.

If that wasn’t enough, Fantasy Football Scout’s founding father, Mark Sutherns will be producing regular videos throughout the season. Again, only Premium Members will get unrestricted access to Mark’s content.

We have regular Members-only articles, too, such as Captain Sensible, which provides in-depth analysis on the top contenders for the armband every Gameweek.

RATE MY TEAM AND PROJECTIONS

FPL Rate My Team surgery with five-time top 1k finisher Tom Freeman 11

Our Projections and Rate My Team tools will both be live for the new season once FPL launches, allowing you to see how many points our algorithm thinks you’ll score and which players you should bench.

SEASON TICKER

Our Season Ticker can help you sort by opponent difficulty to spot those upcoming fixture swings, while you can also find out which teams’ matches rotate well.

Wolves, for example, are top of our Season Ticker over the first six Gameweeks of 2022/23 – but there are some tough games ahead for Crystal Palace.

Disagree with the Fantasy Football Scout difficulty ratings? Add you own to customise your experience.

PLAYER COMPARISON TOOL

Stuck between potential transfer targets for the upcoming Gameweek? You can now compare up to three players head-to-head at the same time, with over 100 key statistics and graphics to study side by side, while new visuals make for easier comparisons:

New-look beta Premium Members Area now available 1

PLAYER AND TEAM STATS

From goal threat to expected data, there are hundreds upon hundreds of player and team statistics available, which can help guide your Fantasy transfer decisions.

Our ‘per 90′ tickbox allows you to sort players’ stats per 90 minutes, too, to level the playing field for those assets with differing amounts of game-time.

MATCH ANALYSIS

Want to know where it went right and wrong in previous Gameweeks?

We’ve got analysis of every Premier League match (going back to 2011/12!), together with charts which plot average positions and a collection of heatmaps for touches, shots and chances created, among other statistics.

CUSTOM STATS TABLES

Premium Members can also create custom tables based on the data available and share them with other subscribers to help with FPL team planning.

Perhaps the most famous of these is Joe’s Goals Imminent table, which looks to predict which underperforming assets will find the net next.

GAMEWEEK DASHBOARD

Pre-season price offer extended for FFScout Premium Membership 11

Enter your FPL ID for personalised visuals and check your live rank as the Gameweek progresses.

FLAT-TRACK BULLY TOOL

Our Flat-Track Bully tool helps subscribers to identify Fantasy assets with good records against specific clubs.

This will help you pinpoint players who perhaps perform better against weaker opposition for those close captaincy calls – and even those who thrive against the top teams, like Raul Jimenez famously did in 2018/19.

TESTIMONIES

2018/19 Fantasy Premier League champion Adam Levy was a paid-up Premium Member of our site and he discussed what tools of ours he finds most useful in an interview after his triumph.

In previous seasons we’ve helped FPL winners Tom Fenley and Simon March, while in 2015/16 we were thrilled to see Ed Masters – the winner of that year’s Members’ League – finish third in the overall rankings.

In 2017/18, Paul Gee went one better. He won our Members’ League and finished second, losing out to champion Yusuf Sheikh by just eight points.

Be sure to check out all the other benefits of signing up as a Premium Member here. A full FAQ on our Premium Members’ Area is also available here.

Surprising what you can do without Haaland, and back Mo all the way. I’ve used LiveFPL prices.

For me, it lacks 2 from the BIG TWO (and only 6 players from the top 6), and is full of mediocrity. It screams 'early wildcard'.

I assume you mean two attacking captaincy options from the big two? This draft has 4/6 from the big two.

Full of mediocrity? Really? Barnes, Bruno G, Antonio, and Wilson - only 4 I can see you suggesting about, but even then they’re not bad at all.

Didn’t play last year so recency bias isn’t skewing my view on him. Still a good option and was clearly being asked to do way more in his role, and was knackered with Europe.

Firmly believe all 3 will be essential:

      Salah & Son definitely
Then one of Kane/Haaland to rotate throughout the season

Sign in to your account and click the edit option on your Gravitar image, the auto-renewal is at the bottom of the page but the amount that will be taken is not stated which is confusing because it could be anything from £15 depending on when you signed up (mines £17.50).

Arsenal's window/links looking a bit strange so far, given obvious depth issues at FB/CM with multiple options already at AM; but wonder how likely a full commitment to a false-9 with one of ESR/Vieira upfront is...? surely not going to be signing Raphinha AND Jesus!? those opening fixtures look pretty nice

    1. Zimo
      • 7 Years
      4 years, 1 month ago

Yeah gonna be awkward if they sign all these.attacking players and then flop because of a bad defence

      1. SADIO SANÉ
        • 11 Years
        4 years, 1 month ago

yeah, a Tierney injury (very likely) and the parts need to move around again, same when Partey gets injured - prioritising signings like Bissouma and Cucurella over attackers would have made more sense to me, but maybe as Fish Up A Tree says below they could be looking at a Man City style 4141 more often

    2. Fish up a tree
      • 5 Years
      4 years, 1 month ago

I think Jesus looks like it’s happening & Raphinha is 50/50.

Leaving Raphinha out of the mix Arsenal front 6 could be one of these options

      Full on attack

      Partey
      Ode Vieira
      Saka Jesus Marti/ESR

      More defensive

      Partey Xhaka
      Ode
      Saka/Vieira Jesus Marti/ESR

Xhaka could be Tielemans (CM) or Martinez (LFB & CM) if signed

With Raphinha I can see this attacking line up more so against non top 6 teams

      Partey
      Ode Vieira
      Raphinha Jesus Saka

If Raphinha signs then this will impact Martinelli & ESR’s minutes for sure

      1. SADIO SANÉ
        • 11 Years
        4 years, 1 month ago

yeah, those two attacking formations look saucy - still can see it going pear-shaped if/when Partey and Tierney get injured or Xhaka gets suspended - I guess if Jesus doesn't sign the false-9 idea grows legs (although maybe he'll keep the faith in Nketiah), a nailed ESR upfront would be pretty interesting if he can take to it

        1. Fish up a tree
          • 5 Years

There’s talk of a Tavares going out on loan as Arteta can’t rely on him right now as he is too raw. 100% we will get cover for Tierney as his injury record is horrendous & it cost us last season.

Martinez of Ajax looks to be an option & he can play LB, CB & CM as well.

If Partey gets injured we then have Xhaka & Martinez who can play there plus Elneny & Lokonga

          1. SADIO SANÉ
            • 11 Years
            4 years, 1 month ago

a left-footed player that can play LB, CB & CM basically solves most problems in one go, sounds good - hopefully they can do it

    3. @persecuted_by_mods
      4 years, 1 month ago

Yeah they definitely need full back cover to not rely on Cedric or tavares, they need a DM because of Partey and they definitely need a striker, or 2!

If they can add zincenko, Jesus, raphina, tielemans to Vieira it's a great window. Raphina does seem a bit too pricy atm though

Arteta going down the pep and klopp no main striker tactic and lots of attacking players to rotate, ironically just when both of them sign typical strikers

      1. SADIO SANÉ
        • 11 Years

'Arteta going down the pep and klopp no main striker tactic and lots of attacking players to rotate, ironically just when both of them sign typical strikers' - I thought that when I wrote this comment, kinda funny if he does go that route as soon as the other two abandon it haha

Zinchenko is a great shout seeing as he can play LB and CM, that would make sense

        1. The Mentaculus
          • 5 Years
          4 years, 1 month ago

This seems very unlikely to me. Arteta had plenty of chances to try out someone like Martinelli as 9 last season & didnt go for it. If no Jesus/Scamacca type signs, Nketiah surely starts. Would be very surprised to see ESR/Vieira up front

          1. SADIO SANÉ
            • 11 Years
            4 years, 1 month ago

I'd like to see it, you're probably right though - yeah not using Martinelli upfront was a missed opportunity, I understand why not given the top-4 race was so tight, but the CF answer could have been/be right there already

          2. @persecuted_by_mods
            4 years, 1 month ago

I think it'll happen more than you think but yeah you'd have to imagine if Jesus signs he's main striker most often and sometimes Eddie will be main striker with Jesus pushed wide or on the bench

Is he gunna get as many tap ins from low crosses as he gets with city? He’s a good poacher but I can’t see him being a target man or a playmaker who takes shots from range.

Ha, I've been thinking this myself. Not actually brilliant at anything, I'm not sure he's fit to lead an attack for a top team.

One of those where people only think he's not fulfilling his potential because of his club/injury record etc when actually, he doesn't do THAT MUCH when he plays.

I suspect any 4.5 defenders at those 2 clubs will be heavily rotated and therefore unreliable starters. You'll need 5.0s for that.

Schar is pretty much nailed i think and should come in at 4.5. I'll take Tierney or Tomiyasu at 5 honestly.

Why would Schar be 5? :/ he didn't even get to 90 points. Well in that case obviously won't get him. I'm assuming he'll be 4.5

Double-check before GW1 commences who has the Wolves LWB slot - is it Jonny or AIN?
Tomi has the fixtures and ought to be a good price.

just noticed that the Newcastle fixtures are actually much better than I first thought (was only looking at first 5 fixtures before) - maybe just going with Trippier and playing him against City/Liverpool is an option if on all set-pieces

Good option, unless he's 0.5 more than the rest of the defence, in which case Targett comes into play.

think any defender on corners is an absolute bonus magnet, think he'll be worth the extra personally but Targett could also be a decent pick anyway

Yes looking at their opening 6 it is only GWs 3 + 5 that are difficult.
The teams with best GWs 3 + 5 to rotate would be either Everton or Fulham.

I'd want to know Howe's policy on 5 subs when considering his wingbacks too. Cash is a dependable 90 min 38 game man.

I'll end up playing a 4.0 Fulham defender in GW3&5 who concedes twice and gets booked whilst benching Trippier who gets an assist in both GWs 😀

I think from a defensive pov the Newcastle fixtures are quite bad. Forest at home obviously good but then Brighton and West Ham and Pool away and City and Palace at home. You'd expect maybe 2 CSs from those 6? and Palace have a goal in them so maybe not even that. On the other hand though I wouldn't back against Wilson scoring in any of those games and the ones after that are even better.

also just another thought from watching the games - Howe turned Newcastle (slowly) from a low-block team to a team that tries to press high. This is obvious to anyone who's watched a recent Newcastle game. We have been susceptible to teams who can break a press though, because we've adopted this way of playing even against the big teams. I watched us away at Spurs and it was pretty crazy to watch how we pressed Spurs very high up the pitch and even had a pretty similar possession to Spurs in the first half. Very different to the Ashley years where we would've had 20% possession and no shots on target. However, when Spurs scored one in the second, the floodgates opened and they scored 5. I watched similar games vs City and Leicester. Maybe it will be different next year once Howe has had a full summer's coaching + made some signings, but something to watch out for I'd say

Nowhere near, and more importantly the style of play has very very few teams that park the bus or play with a low block so while the football is fun it can fool you into thinking a player is better than he actually is

That said a good player is a good player, haaland is a good player but will he need a brief period of adjustment? Possibly not as city create so much but who knows

        This ^^^
My in-laws are based in Bavaria so I have the pleasure of watching/following Bayern Munich. Unfortunately much of their opposition don't provide much! And in all honesty, if Bayern don't win the league, there's a low-level feeling of disappointment and under-achievement.
Aside from Bayern, BVB and maybe Leverkusen/RB Leipzig (but even they just serve as feeder clubs to Bayern/BVB) there isn't a lot else.

Which in itself is a pretty damning indictment on the Europa League, as EF finished 11th last season (and average 9.5th over their last 10 seasons in the Bundesliga)!

Interesting - thank you. It's a shame for Bayern, really .... it's so much more satisfying to win in a very strong league. Having said that, I'm sure that the standard of the EPL, with competition right up until the last day of the season, finally caught up with Liverpool in their quest to win everything.

Look up Tifo football's video on 'Bundesliga Tax'

    5. Portsmouth Bubblejet

      4 years, 1 month ago

Premier League fans' attitudes to other European leagues tend to be a bit patronising, and attitudes to the Bundesliga (including that purely stats-based 'Bundesliga tax' video) are a case in point.

Bayern Munich's dominance is a sign of the financial imbalance caused across Europe by Champions League money, but it isn't a sign that the rest of the league is 'tin-pot'. Eintracht Frankfurt won the Europa League despite only finishing eleventh in the Bundesliga this year, and I'd argue that a match between lower-division such as Burnley and FC Augsburg would be very close to call.

I'd also take the tactical awareness of your average German top-flight player over that of a home-grown English player any day of the week. Jonathan Harding's book on the German coaching and youth development system ('Mensch: Beyond the Cones') explains this well - there's a reason why Jude Bellingham, Jaden Sancho and other young talents chose to develop their skills in Germany. There are more first-team opportunities, more responsibilities at a younger age, and also a greater emphasis on tactical flexibility and self-responsibility.

The problem is that Premier League clubs are often clueless at getting the best out of the Bundesliga players that they sign, with an insistence on shoehorning them into the wrong position. Timo Werner plays best alongside (and just behind) a number nine such as Patrik Schick in a 4-2-2-2; Kai Havertz was most effective as a number 10, behind Kevin Volland in a 4-2-3-1. Chelsea bafflingly signed both players, although integrating them both successfully into the same team formation always seemed logically impossible.

West Ham signed Sébastien Haller from Eintracht Frankfurt who had flourished alongside a second forward and played him as a loan striker. He's been lethal at Ajax since then, with 32 goals in 50 games. Having scored in all six Champions League stage matches this season, Haller has been strongly linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund.

As for Jaden Sancho (of whom I've never been a huge fan), Man United has been a graveyard of imported midfield talent in recent times. Sancho joins Shinji Kagawa, Ángel Di María and others as examples of players who have not felt at home in a procession of managers and team formations.

In short: Bundesliga players are over-priced when they move to England because German club officials know that well-heeled Premier League clubs will pay far more than teams from other leagues would do. This doesn't make them bad players, or negate the quality of the Bundesliga itself.

    Haaland's Champion's League Record:

    Apps: 16(3)
    Goals: 21
    Assists 3

That includes a brace against PSG, a goal against Liverpool, and an assist against City.

Can he make the step up from the Bundesliga to the Premier League? I'd give it a big yes.

Clip of him bullying Dias: https://youtube.com/shorts/pOIdr-rjqK4?feature=share

Of course he can but neither psg Liverpool or city play a low block, that's where the output may lessen compared to bundesliga, on the other hand city have more talented creators so maybe it evens out

The question isn't will he do well or not, it's how well will he do and will he be worth the (fpl) price

Dortmund actually came up against low blocks pretty often last season in the BL. Might not be as often as City or Liverpool do in the PL but they had the 2nd best possession stats in the division, not too many teams play gung-ho football with a high defensive line against them

        1. @persecuted_by_mods
          4 years, 1 month ago

Not gung ho but there are very very few occasions where a team just sets up to defend and not attack, the fans just wouldn't stand for it there

His good European record is certainly a good argument that the Bundesliga tax may not be much of a factor with him, also note that 2 of Dortmund's 3 losses in the CL (resulting in them getting knocked out) as well as their loss and draw v Rangers in the EL all happened when he was injured.

      1. @persecuted_by_mods

Chips always change don't they, I think they delay is also down to not wanting to get pricing wrong. But they could easily start dropping prices from players who are obviously nailed in their teams and their role is set, e.g man city aren't going to sign anyone that means kdb won't play, so there's no worry of releasing his price, spurs won't sign anyone that means son or kane stop playing so would be easy to release those too

wonder if they are taking ages because they are implementing a formation change (extra strata), so we can have 5 outfield subs to match the new rule; so you pick from something like:

    GK (GK)
DEF DEF DEF (DEF DEF) -> current defenders
MID (MID MID MID) -> CM/DMs like Rodri and Neves (get clean sheet points, so players like Kante get CS points)
AM AM AM AM -> attacking midfielders and wingers like Mount and Salah
FWD FWD -> number 9s like Haaland and Wilson

So you can play 4132 or 3142 or 3241 or 3331 or 4231 or whatever

Pretty boring day at work so a nice question for everyone

What would the 1 rule change youd love this coming season?

Myself, id love to be able to make subs to swap a player out who got a 1pointer etc.

Not sure if id like that, i love waiting for teams to be released seeing which of my players or a certain punt is starting. But also seeing my competitions captain dropped.......or as last season, see his captain and vice captain dropped haha. (yes it also happened to me too, which wasnt very funny at all)

Me and you are the only ones advocating for this! I hope someone does make a variation of this game. One fpl as it is guessing what managers will do based in their conferences substitutions etc but one where I can just use my football knowledge and see who is playing and decide what to do without the randomness of illnesses and wife giving birth

Yeah, more deadlines over the GW sounds good. That'll wipe the smiles off those bloody casual's faces! 😀

I’d like for me (but only me) to get unlimited budget. And maybe for all of my players to get double points rather than just the captain.

442 looks decent, not bad price points either

    TAA Cancelo Chilwell Jonny
    Salah Saka Odegaard Neto
    Watkins Haaland

    4 4 4.5 4.5

Yes looking at something very similar with most of these players ( based on live fpl prices) except scratching my head to fit in Kulusevski in ahead of Ødegaard which is not possible without downgrade to Watkins or Chilwell

What do think the difference in their prices will be? 8 and 6.5?

I think so. Best I could come up with for now would be as below. Jonny and Fofana rotate quite well as do Harrison Mbeumo first few weeks

Scope to drop Mbeumo to a 4.5 mid and up Johnson to a 7m forward or Watkins if Cash drops to say Tierney or another 5 m defender- of course all hinges on official fpl pricing but something to work off!

          Henderson
          TAA Cancelo Cash Fofana
          Salah Saka Kulusveski Harrison
          Haaland Johnson

          Ward Mbeumo Jonny Gelhardt

I'm looking at this format too - think to get Kulu you would have to downgrade Saka to Odegaard/Martinelli but of course that carries some risk

Shave some funds of somewhere, Neto to Wissa/Harrison, Chilwell to a 5m def and Ode to Kulu?

I seen he had scored 7 goals the other day , so looked into him, he also got 4 Assists and created the 2nd most chances in the league, we just need to see if other players can convert more of his chances

Notice you’ve only 2 city players, how much do you think Alvarez will be? I’m thinking he could be an under the radar 3rd pick if 4.5/5 can see him picking up lots of points late on

What happens if a premium member wins the price prediction competition and gets free membership? Do they get a refund for their current membership?

Was going to wait to buy membership until after FPL releases in the unlikely scenario I win, but now FPL will open after the FFS price hike, so my hand is forced...
