Fantasy Premier League (FPL) is live for 2022/23 and so too is our table of players on free-kicks, corners and penalties at their respective clubs.

The players are listed in order of prominence at dead-ball situations, based on information gathered from last season’s matches. Data closer to Gameweek 38 is given more weight.

The list will be updated constantly as new information becomes available on assigned set-piece takers and we’ll have one eye on pre-season to see if there is a shake-up in the table below or if any new signings like Erling Haaland are muscling their way in on the dead-ball duties.

Nottingham Forest are a good example: Joe Lolley and Brennan Johnson are listed as direct free-kick takers but it was loanees Joe Garner and Philip Zinckernagel who were chiefly responsible for these in the Championship last season and they have now departed the club.

This is a list that is also supplied to the FPL site, where you’ll find explanatory notes on the penalty takers featured here.

Common mistake is to put new password in both

    How's my 1st draft looking?

    Ederson
    TAA, Robertson, Chilwell, Perisic, Laporte
    Salah, Neto, Eriksen*
    Kane, Jesus

    Caballero, Gordon, Andreas Pereira*, Greenwood

*On the proviso that Eriksen goes to Utd and Pereira completes his move to Fulham.

Kane will become Haaland in gw2

No point wasting money and a City spot on Ederson.
Not sure on Perisic - can see him being rotated and dropping in price early on due to ownership.
Find the money for Laporte to Cancelo (by downgrading Ederson?)
I don't consider Eriksen an fpl asset (from a United fan who rates him as a player)

Just my opinions. Hope that helps!

        Cheers.

Ederson is pretty much the only City player that is 100% nailed. That said I am also considering a 4.5 keeper and Cancelo (instead of Laporte) but double City defence is quite tempting.

As a Spurs fan I think Perisic is our best signing this summer and he had an excellent season last year for Inter (8 goals and 7 assists from LWB and in the Serie A team of the year). If minutes are an issue then he can easily be downgraded

I agree he's a great signing and get jealous of your transfer business over the last 6 months! What are your thoughts on Doherty and is he likely to be your main choice at rb?

I think Spence will play ahead of Doherty. Doherty was starting to show some of his Wolves form before his injury but I think RB/RWB is an area that could be upgraded and Conte really likes Spence apparently

    I'm currently between:

    A)
    Raya (4.0)
    TAA James Doherty Tomiyasu (4.0)
Salah Martinelli Rashford Raphinha (if at Chelsea) (Pereira)
    Haaland Kane (Greenwood)
This gives one attacking player in the top 6 from last season, and 4 defenders from the top 5 (exc City as can't afford Cancelo, although Doherty could be Cucurella if he moves).

    B)
    Raya (4.0)
    TAA James Doherty Tomiyasu (4.0)
    Salah Martinelli Neto (Pereira, Colback)
    Haaland Kane Jesus

    So basically comes down to:
    A) Rashford and Raphinha
    B) Neto and Jesus

I know they're both fairly unbalanced but should be a fun team to start the season and will likely wildcard fairly early on anyway! Any thoughts much appreciated. Cheers!

I'd go with B for now.

If Rash looks good in pre season and Raph goes to Chelsea then A could be an option before the season start

There are no 'good' options, hence their price. I'd wait a bit - see who emerges in the promoted sides or stands out in pre-season. One point I have been suggesting is the effect of the new 5 sub rule. I can see some of these fringe forwards getting subbed on regularly. The stand-out one for me is Gelhardt if Bamford needs managing after his injury. But Undav could fit that bill before becoming a starter once he adapts. Then there are the 3 Palace forwards - one of them could be a regular starter. Due to their opening fixtures, I'd observe them a few weeks before bringing one in.

Do we really think if Walker (MCI) is fit that Zinchenko gets a look in? For 5.0 Walker could be a bargain, no?

    1. No Salah

Im also looking for an answer to this. Why Walker had so few minutes last season? Choosing walker instead of Cancelo and saving that 2.0 goes a long way for my team! Is Walker nailed?

      1. Zenith UK
        • 9 Years
        4 years, 9 days ago

Last season I know he was struggling with injury for a bit, but if he's back to full fitness I don't see how he doesn't start over Zinchenko

Zinchenko will probably be sold off. The threat is Cucurella bagging the left wingback spot. That would likely mean Cancelo moves to right wingback.

    TAA | James | Laporte | Perisic

GK: pick the best $4.5m, I’ve had decent success with this the last 3 years in Ramsdale, Martinez and Pope.

Def: TAA easiest of picks. James is nicely priced if Chelsea play wing-backs. I think Cancelo will have a slight drop-off this season if City acquire another full-back (not due to form but rotation). Great value in $4.5m range, so I pick 3. Also, I like to spend an extra $0.5 on my 1st sub.

    This is probably my favourite team that I've made so far and I've managed the following in my starting XI;

    3x City
    3x Liverpool
    2x Chelsea
    2x Spurs

    Mendy, 4.0
    Trent, Robbo, Cancelo, Chilwell, Perisic
    Son, Diaz, Mahrez*, Dewsbury-Hall, Andreas
    Haaland, Greenwood, Taylor

*Mahrez can be any ≤8M midfielder (Foden, Maddison, Saka etc).

^Concerns, starting one of the sub 5.0's each week, but that's what pre-season monitoring will be for.

Good, I've got similar with Salah. A first XI of season keepers, making an early wildcard irrelevant.

The only frustrating thing is, we will be wanting to use the wildcard between GW8-12 I think (as it expires in GW16). However, the WC will also allow for drastic changes should they be needed (Salah in and 8M mids going wild)

I can see myself not wanting to move on the Liv/City six, and few of the others. My first WC might just rearrange the bench! But, there are always a few unknowns.

Yeah, it could be for example, where I've gone with Mahrez and Chilwell that actually it's Foden and James that are performing and maybe Colback is doing better than Andreas so that wildcard might just fix little things like that. Maybe there's a 'keeper performing better than Mendy and it free's up 0.5M for me.

I'm quite happy with that above team though. Mahrez could easily be Mount/Gallagher Saka/Martinelli Maddison/Barnes, Foden/Grealish, Zaha, Benrahma/Fornals, so monitoring the pre-season will be important for me, because if I can get a 6.0 or 7.0 in there, that extra 1.0-2.0 could really help strengthen KDH or one of the 4.5 FWDs to something better!

    *****BIG QUESTION*****

On an even Salary Cap Choice, which option do you prefer? Please give your valuable insight.

    A. DeBruyne & Kulusevski
    B. Son & Foden

Full disclosure, I will definitely be starting off with Cancelo & Haaland as well.

Take a look at Kulu's Clean Sheets divided by 4 + Bonus divided by 4 + Assists + Goals compared to his overall minutes. You may be shocked.

I agree, but I am a BIG fan and Sterling & Silva are on their way out. I feel that it's most likely, his statistical breakout year.

Morning all. I missed all the excitement of launch yesterday . Am I right in thinking there were no major changes to the rules/scoring bar the unlimited transfers for use during the World Cup??

As long as you find reasonable FPL achievement around 4/5mark - go for it.

Any mention as to how price increases/falls will work this year? Presuming no changes so it’s just the same as always?

Nothing mentioned about changes. Only slight mystery is during the World Cup, whether prices will be frozen or not. Presumably they will as everyone will be on wildcards.
