Ok to keep the 1ft this week?

    Ward
    TAA - James - Walker - Zinchenko
    Salah - Son - DaSilva - Martinelli
    Haaland - Jesus

    Iverson - Andreas - Neco - Archer

0.5 itb, already moved Bailey to DaSilva.

    Roll, or make another transfer?

    Thanks!

        He got 169 points last season, 11 G, 11 A, 16 BAPs.

        How is he crap?

He’s had an inauspicious start to the season, but by no means is he crap.

I can’t decide to do with Neto. 0.5 ITB

    Ramsdale
TAA Cancelo James Trippier (N Williams)
    Salah Kulusevski Martinelli Neto (Andreas)
    Haaland Jesus ()

Any suggestions? Missed the Rodrigo price rise, but mot sure if he is a flash in the pan

How about you keep Neto one more game and play Nico over Tripper next GW?

One thing you could try do is leave some money ITB when you play your WC this GW.

Helps if you do face some price rises going into GW3.

Regarding Wilcards this season, just so I understand this correctly:

Wildcard 1 is available until Sat 12 Nov, which is the start of gameweek 16.

Between 12 Nov and Mon 26 Dec, which is to say between gameweek 16 and 17, we get unlimited free transfers due to World Cup interference.

Wildcard 2 becomes available after Mon 26 Dec, which is to say when gameweek 17 begins, and this final wildcard is available until the end of the season.

    Correct?

Variance, we all talk about it but what does it mean. A prime example is me

Switching Jesus to Mitrovic? Common sense right after week 1? Punished by the fpl gods instantly! Variance! nothing you can do about it, Mitrovic had the form and fixtures to deliver but didn't and Jesus hauled

Sometimes you can do everything right and it still turns out so wrong

    1. Drip Doctor

Except that move wasn't common sense.

      1. @persecuted_by_mods

Very easy to say in hindsight, have you seen Mitrovic's home record?

        1. JamTart

Jesus who had amazing pre season form and everyone knew looked lively and also had good fixtures in a free flowing attacking team.

Your move was a valid, but very risky move, not common sense.

          1. @persecuted_by_mods
            4 years, 8 days ago

Mate, everyone was saying pre season means NOTHING, now everyone is saying the opposite

It didn't pan out, but it was the smart play. Variance man, bloody variance

Moves after 1 GW are the ultimate case of chasing last week’s points.

Players, even the very best ones, blank. Stick with them for a few games before you just bin them. Invariably, the impatient players bin them the week before they haul too…

        1. @persecuted_by_mods
          4 years, 8 days ago

Now all of a sudden Jesus is one of the best players

          1. Nomar
            • 16 Years
            4 years, 8 days ago

Jesus is one of the best striker options in this years game. Great early fixtures and playing for a free scoring team.

Kane is a great player who blanked last week and rewarded those who kept faith with him by scoring in what was a much more difficult fixture than the one he had last week.

Haaland scored a brace last week in a much tougher game than the one he only got an assist in yesterday.

The fact is that some weeks players are going to blank, some weeks they are going to haul. Sometimes your best move is sticking and having a bit of faith in the player you have. Give them enough reasonable chances before you get rid.

This, this and thrice this but I guess there’s no one way to play this amazing game. Some get it (usually with a little experience) and some I guess just don’t. 😛

I started the season with Ben Mee because Brentford had great fixtures. He did absolutely nothing in gameweek 1 so I switched him to Zinchenko who had attacking return form. Mee proceeds to score in GW2 while Zinc does nothing. I just can’t a break. The game hates me

      I love the variance argument.

In my opinion, use it when the logic was there. In this case, there is no logic.

Mitrovic home record, what about Jesus and his home debut?

Mitrovic > Jesus is a rubbish decision. Just accept it and move on otherwise there is no point playing the game seriously. Just pick 15 random players who don’t play and say “variance”.

Just an excuse imo. Own your decisions, it will help with making better ones in the future.

      1. @persecuted_by_mods
        4 years, 8 days ago

Logic? Did you see what Mitrovic did to the best defender and goalie in the league and what did Jesus do nothing

Its one game though, if he explodes your left miles behind.

Maybe after 2 or 3 blanks then yeah, make the switch. But was he really going to blank? Hes the best striker option this season due to his price. This isnt Lacazette were talking about.

I only have Salah because of ownership. I personally think KDB plus 1 million and Darwin are better options but let's wait for a few weeks and see what happens

          This isn’t true.

All last week I was advocating patience and not binning players just because they blanked last week.

I have issues with Mount at the moment, but he has a proven FPL track record and he has a very favourable fixture next GW and the following two after that as well.

I’m likely to keep him for at least next week before I think seriously about getting rid if he blanks again. Sometimes you have to be patient and give a player more than one week to prove his worth.

    TAA, Robbo, Cancelo, James, Perisic
    Salah, Martinelli, Neto, Dasailva, Andreas
    Haaland, Jesus, Plange

    Any thoughts?

Think I'll leave Perisic one more week. Hold Neto another week to see who's best option or move now?

I have Mount, and as disappointing as his returns have been so far, his next 3 fixtures are very favourable.

Would you start Saliba(vs bou) or Dasilva(vs ful)?

    Salah Kulusevski Martinelli
    Haaland Darwin Jesus

    Ward Dasilva Andreas Patterson

It all looked pretty dire this week for me, Jesus's haul notwithstanding, especially with Neco's 7 second on the bench (to be fair, he was never going to start over anyone on my team, including Rashford and Bailey). And then the exact things I needed to happen (goals from James and Kane)...happened. Whew. 55 points with (S)alah and TAA to go, this might end up being a decent week yet.

Variance, we all talk about it but what does it mean. A prime example is me

Switching KDB to Groß? Common sense right after week 1? Punished by the fpl gods instantly! Variance! nothing you can do about it, Groß had the form and fixtures to deliver but didn't and KDB hauled

Sometimes you can do everything right and it still turns out so wrong

    1. Drop Dead Tsimikas
      • 14 Years

Why would switching anyone to anyone after ONE match be common sense?

      1. Drop Dead Tsimikas
        • 14 Years

Much less an essentially fixture-proof KdB for a Brighton midfielder who will not have a match this good again this season. They were playing, bar none, the current worst club in the league (and I say this as a 30-year United fan).

Of course he can. But under normal circumstances he wouldn't be expected to.
