The free-to-play weekly Fantasy5 game is back for 2022/23, and there are various other prizes on offer beyond the wallet-fattening jackpot.

You can even set up a mini-league and compete with colleagues, friends and family. To join the Fantasy Football Scout league, simply click here.

HOW TO PLAY

It’s as simple as this: pick five players from the nominated Gameweek 3 matches below and, if they all exceed their ‘points targets’ (a par score set by Fantasy5 for each asset), you’ll be in the money:

Win £10,000 for free with Fantasy5 by picking the best players for Gameweek 3 1

Even if you don’t succeed in getting all five right, Fantasy5’s leaderboard allows you to win prizes beyond the £10k jackpot.

We have selected our own picks for Gameweek 3, which can you can read below.

The deadline for this week’s entries is at 15:00 BST on Saturday 20 August.

SCOUT’S GAMEWEEK 3 PICKS

11 players managed to overcome their points target in Gameweek 2, with five coming from Brentford and their 4-0 hammering of Manchester United.

Unfortunately, none of our picks were successful, as Christian Norgaard (5.5) was the only Bees midfielder or forward not to be successful and Jordan Ayew (4.5) wasn’t involved in Crystal Palace’s goal at Anfield.

It’s a strong-looking selection this time. Up first, Southampton’s Joe Aribo (6.5) has out-of-position potential both in Fantasy 5 and FPL, coming off the bench to score against Leeds United in Gameweek 2. Opponents Leicester City aren’t familiar with clean sheets – of last season’s 17 survivors, the Foxes conceded the most shots inside the box and second-most total attempts.

Neco Williams (6.5) could become a huge Fantasy asset this season. Priced at the lowest possible £4.0m in FPL, he already has one clean sheet in the bag and his five shots are currently the joint-most of all defenders. Also on set pieces, Williams will be facing a striker-less Everton whose only goal so far has been an own goal.

Meanwhile, we believe Gameweek 3 is Bukayo Saka‘s (8.5) turn to get involved in Arsenal returns. Their trip to Bournemouth looks ripe for points at both ends of the pitch but the 20-year-old has only provided an assist during the Gunners’ six goals so far.

With Thomas Tuchel suggesting that Ben Chilwell isn’t fully-ready for Premier League rhythm, it can be assumed that Marc Cucurella (6.5) will again be Chelsea’s wing-back at Leeds. Not only is there a strong chance of a clean sheet but his 709 touches in the final third were only topped by three defenders last season and the Spaniard also seems to be on some set-pieces, as shown by his assist against Spurs last Sunday.

The fifth pick is Ilkay Gundogan (7.5) for Manchester City’s trip to Newcastle United. Both sides are yet to concede, so expect a lower-scoring game than the 4-0 and 5-0 of last season. Still, Gundogan has started both matches so far and netted versus Bournemouth, just like his brace on the final day of 2021/22.

HOW DOES FANTASY5 WORK?

Win £10,000 for free with Fantasy5 by picking the best players for Gameweek 1 2

Fantasy5 is easy to play as it follows the exact same scoring system as FPL, just without the bonus points.

It’s also the fastest media outlet for live Fantasy points, displaying all player points from the five games in question, as well as the live score and time.

For the more detailed lowdown, head here.

The competition is limited to one entry per person per round and selections must be submitted before kick-off of the first eligible match.

If two or more entrants correctly select five players who all score more than their points target, then the prize pot is split among all winners.

I'm a Spurs fan and love Perisic. I knew when I picked him he'd be a headache and that's exactly what he's been. Played him first week - 1 point. Benched him week 2 for Andreas - 4 points in an 11 minute cameo.
Week 3 - No idea if he plays. Even if he starts how many minutes does he get?

I have 2FTs so not using one to eliminate my biggest problem seems stupid.

I will wait until the last minute before making a move just in case.

I'm actually thinking captain Jesus rather than Salah.

Yes Man United are utter sh*te but they should play a bit better against Liverpool - they have to or it could be double figures!

Salah has been very quiet, and Jesus should score against Bournemouth.

I own Diaz and Trent from pool and Zinchenko and Martinelli from ArseFC

Given that Arsenal, Brentford and Brighton have great fixtures coming up for clean sheets and defenders/goalies.

Is it better to go with Raya and Sanchez with Gabriel? Then in the future Gabriel can be swapped for another 5 defender like Cucharella, Trippier, and maybe even Perisic.

I have TAA, James, Cancelo, and Walker. Trying to decide between Ramsdale or Gabriel basically. I'm thinking Sanchez/Raya would give me future flexibility.

Mike Dean has acknowledge his mistake.

Feelings of injustice immediately, or Atleast begin to, dissipate when responsibility is shown, and decisions and mistakes are explained.

God knows why the Premier League doesn’t do it more often.

I actually think perceptions, attitudes, and behaviours towards referees would improve when referees show their human nature.

Right now, by absolving all responsibility by protecting referee’s - often in the form of silence -, discontent at the state of Premier League referees will only increase. They treat referees as robots in an attempt to protect them. It doesn’t work.

They could nip this issue in the bud straight away if they were allowed to simply explain their decision making / correct clear wrong decisions. Couldn’t agree more AN with this, you write it in a way I just couldn’t tbh.

Perhaps! I like this suggestion because it expanded my thought-process! So thanks!

I think mic’ing Var/refs will expose their incompetence, partly a result of the bad state of the laws of game. Their job is already high stakes, increasing and changing the responsibilities and experience of ref’s will be too much. A better channel, might be official channels to admit wrongdoing, initially.

I’d never want bad decisions to be corrected. Partly because there is no adequate solution, and second, I’d much prefer future decisions to be improved based on past mistakes.

I have always said, if you increase the margin of responsibility through recognition and necessity of explaining the processes of thought, you increase the skill of the refs, even without changing personnel.

Yep, refusing permission for referees to speak to the media after a game or really ever just further enhances the feeling of angst and division between fans and them. Saying that you can't retrospectively ban a player for something a referee made a mistake with because it would undermine them just makes it feel like they're untouchable, this isn't how it should be and things will not improve as long as it stays the same.

Reece James - double-figure hauls in five of his 11 away starts in 2021/22

Mason Mount - scored in both his meetings with Leeds last season, totalling 18 points. Mount has blanked in just one of his four appearances against them, averaging 7.5 points per match.

Thing is, Leeds are set up a bit differently now. Used to be most vulnerable through the middle, but now I feel like its the full backs pushing up (plus no specialist LB) that leaves most space. I'm guessing Tuchel will play with more of a front 3 & get e.g. Mount & James to overload Struijk

I have both on my WC, and also Sterling.

        Chelsea impressed, I thought.

xG isn’t bad at all considering two tough oppositions (traditionally or season-specific)

Thoughts on Chelsea assets Mr Foo Fighter Bailey-loving Nunez?

Arsenal’s Brazilian visits AFC Bournemouth on the back of two goals, two assists and 19 points at Leicester in the last Gameweek. Jesus has produced eight shots in the box already this term, more than any other player in Fantasy

        Looked poor, imo.

        Not worth 8.5 currently.

However, WHU should have scored. Game might have changed, then.

Still, time to move on I think.

Haven't been on all week and just seen Rahshfords price now down to 6.3 ffs!!

Best replacement? Have 2 ft so could downgrade and upgrade a 4m defender to 4-4-2?

Andreas makes more sense, if fit.

I think Neco has a higher ceiling.

I predict Everton to score, but I’m often wrong on stuff!

Andreas has an xG of 0.05 and xA of 0.08. His career stats are very bad too.

        Neco is the better option.

      Salah Diaz Kulu Martinelli
      Jesus Haaland

      Iverson Neco Dasilva Archer

Obviously GK's and rotation of Patt/Dasilv/Neco is weak, but i think it looks good!

Worth making any transfers this GW, or just keep 2 to sort out a couple of weak links next week?

Yeah I know, not much I can do about them atm though given what's in that price bracket. Might shift Bailey & Neto to a cheapie & GroB with 2 FTs next week.

      KDH

If you are going to pick this player to start for you each GW then you have picked another Bailey which is going to go 4.9, 4.8, 4.7 etc etc etc.

      Don't make the mistake.

The cheap defenders like even 4.0 Neco will score more points.

My two penneth here for what it’s worth is starting the likes of Andreas is gonna bring in 2 or 3 points (or even the single point)…..the way this game is played with needing the fodder for the shiny toys we all want that 1, 2 or 3 points is just that a minuscule return that enables others in your squad to haul. I personally don’t see the harm in that at all. 🙂

Well I am quite happy that I don't get his 2 or 3 points this week. Plus he is still flagged.

Who even says he's going to score 2 or 3 points every week. He scored 7 goals in 31 games for Flamengo in the league which is a decent return for a midfielder.

Playing Andreas isn't something to consider in isolation, as playing him enables someone else (assuming beneficial).
I would however prefer to play a 4.5 defender over a 4.5 midfielder, so would personally only consider if I was playing 5 at the back.
