Seb and Andy are Lepper-less as they co-host the Scoutcast without Joe ahead of Tuesday’s Gameweek 5 deadline.

It’s a swift turnaround between Gameweeks as we prepare ourselves for the first midweek round of Premier League matches of the season.

And fixture congestion is a big focus of tonight’s stream as the pair discuss not just the recovery periods between Gameweek 4-6 matches but also the packed schedule for the teams involved in European club competition all the way up to the World Cup.

Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) is another hot topic as Seb and Andy discuss the Egyptian’s Gameweek 4 blank.

A questions-and-answers session with the watching Fantasy community, the Gameweek 5 captaincy debate and forthcoming transfer plans are also on the agenda. Live Hall of Fame number 33 Seb, ranked inside the top 40k in 2022/23 already, even has the luxury of burning a transfer…

The Scoutcast can be viewed via the embedded video below but is also available as a podcast:

    Thoughts on this lot?

    Sanchez (Ward)
    TAA, Cancelo, James, Cucu (R.Williams)
    Salah, Marti, Foden, Gross (Periera)
    Haaaland, Jesus (Archer)

    1 FT, 0.9 in bank.

Hard to sell Foden this GW so stuck for ideas.

    Cheers for any transfer ideas.

Some teams have way better stats against top teams as they counter.
Do Fulham have the creative players to break down a team when they have 60% possession? Will Mitrovic get all the chances then? I personally don't think so.

      1. Zimo
        • 7 Years

Mitrovic isn't a counter attacking player. He's a giant physical presence with a scary heading ability. Games against smaller teams will suit him. He got 43 goals and 7 assists last season against bad teams last season for crying out loud. I'm gonna be switching to Haaland Kane Mitro as my front 3 by GW8.

    Evening all. Any assistance is appreciated please. Price changes have rolled through, haven't been affected. Managed to climb the ranks this GW. Cancelo is really frustrating me, but I don't feel like losing him prior to playing NFO is wise. Here's the squad;

    2FTs. 0ITB.
    Sanchez
    Trent, Robbo, Cancelo, James, Cucu
    KDB (vc), Diaz, Martinelli
    Haaland (c), Jesus

    Ward, Pereira, Pearson^, Greenwood^

    A) Greenwood to Stansfield & roll FT
    B) Pearson to 4.5 (Lavia?) or 4.4 (Longstaff?) & roll FT
    C) Cancelo > ???
    D) Burn FT
    E) Other suggestions

I've done Kulu to Diaz yesterday.

Don't think it's a lateral move. Liverpool have better fixtures in the next 3 than Spurs and will outscore them in that period hence more likelihood of a return from Diaz.

Diaz is also the more in form player of the two this having the advantage with form and fixtures.

Whilst I like Kulu, he's more likely to assist than score whereas Diaz is the opposite.

Those were my reasons for the move.

2 FT but really stuck in what i should do.

Thinking Cancelo —> Gabriel and Dasilva —> Rodrigo / Trossard / Groß but then i don’t know who to bench.

    Raya
    TAA / Cancelo / Perisic / James
    Martinelli / Kdb / Diaz
    Toney / Jesus / Kane

Bench: Ward / Dasilva / Andreas / Neco

      • 9 Years

I have the same starting 11 with the exception of Perisic (have Gros) and had the same dilemna with the 2 FT’s.

Cancelo is frustrating as hell but I will deal with him after the Forest match.

To avoid burning the FT I did Raya to Sanchez. Do you have .1m in the bank to spare?

If not, the other option would be to shave .1m off your bench by selling Ward for a 3.9 keeper.

With regards to the Cancelo moves, I know that having a benching headache isn’t ideal, but I’m warming up to that idea a bit more myself given that Haaland may have the off benching. Out of the midfielders you mentioned, I’d probably go for Gros as he’s a guaranteed starter in a well organised team, playing almost as a second striker, whereas Rodrigo’s if not spot, certainly role, could under threat with the returns from injury.

One of the non benching headache options I’m considering with Cancelo funds is to do Cancelo/Diaz to Sterling/Gabriel. Not sure I have the guts for it though lol

Who are you captaining this gameweek out of curiosity? Head says KDB given Haaland may have reduced game time, but heart says Haaland.

      1. Fpl_Ludwig
        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

        Yeah thanks,
I would have taken Cancelo out if it wasn’t for the benching headache.

Have been looking at Sterling a bit too and he could be a very spicy differential but i can’t find ways to fund him without taking out Toney or Martinelli.

And when it comes to captaincy, for me it’s between Kane and Kdb and i will probably decide last minute (Currently on Kdb)

Was looking at burning the transfer and do Ward —> Iversen and save 0.1 but i just don’t think it’s worth it.

Feels like i could end up doing Cancelo and Dasilva —> Estupiñan and Gundo/Bilva/Groß but really not sure.

Either way, good luck this GW!

He was playing as wingback in a 3-5-2. They then moved to a 4-4-2 and kept creswell at lb. Due to this I'd say he ll never be nailed. You'd assume creswell will start in a 4-4-2 and emersen will only play 3-5-2

Will Salah get a rest against Newcastle ?

Otherwise it is likely to be Bournemouth, Newcastle, Everton (must start), Napoli (must start) which is 4 games in 12 days ... then 3 games in a week with Wolves (bench), Ajax & Chelsea (both must start)

Not so sure, 4 games in 11 days if that is the case because he will 100% start against Everton & Napoli ... Going back in time to the Utd game that is 5 games in 17 days.

Basically he is likely to be stood down for either Newcastle or Everton and I am pretty sure he will play against Everton.

If Salah plays against Newcastle and Everton there is no way he will play against Wolves in between Napoli and Ajax & Chelsea.

Something is going to give ... so would caution against captaining him against Newcastle, because the Newcastle rubber is a perfect date for a rest

Not captaining as Newcastle are strong and forest are not.

You seem to be ignoring my point on Darwin. If they rest him, they will start a front three of Diaz, Bobby, elliot/Carvalho. But if they rest him later, Darwin can strengthen that group and perhaps jota if fit. You don't rest Salah when two of your forwards are already out. Liverpool are in an injury crisis which forces their hand right now.

Not ignoring Darwin point, just think that there are certain games Salah 'must' play in.

Bobby, Diaz, Carvalho, Elliott, Milner, Fabinho, Henderson etc can fill a front 6 without Salah and Darwin against Newcastle ... then maybe there are a few others coming back from injury or a wing back gets pushed up in to midfield ... Klopp wil have to do the hokey kokey at some point with Salah

My point remains that there are a lot of games that Salah simply has to start in, namely Everton, Napoli, Ajax & Chelsea ... how the rest of the fixtures fit in around that is where we earn out crust as FPL managers ... or perhaps Klopp will rest Salah away to Everton (at his peril) or play him in every game and risk burn out ?

I would pretty shocked if Salah was rested for Newcastle. I know congestion is coming, but he really needs a rest already after 4 games in 4 weeks?

He doesn't need a rest now but Bournemouth to Napoli is 4 games in 12 days ... Bournemouth, Newcastle, Everton, Napoli ... a 3 or 4 day rest .. then Wolves, Ajax & Chelsea in a week

Something has to give and I don't think it will be Everton, Napoli, Ajax or Chelsea

The front 6 issue is exactly why he can't rest Salah. You named 7 players for 6 places and then you ran out of options and you are right. There are only 7 players for 6 positions if you rest Salah. You can't do a hokey coke with that. Elliot and Carvalho cannot start together. It's one or the other with them. Milner and Henderson can not start together. We could not even beat united with that combo and since trying that klopp has eating humble pie and admitted he was wrong and everyone else was right.we need to buy another midfielder which he is backtracking on after publicly stating there was no need. What changed his mind? Watching Henderson and Milner play in the same midfield. Your proposal for tomorrow's game would be then.

              Fabinho
              Milner Henderson
              Elliot Bobby Diaz

              He won't do that again.

              Or
              Fabinho
              Elliot Henderson
              Carvalho Bobby Diaz

I would be amazed if two 19 year Olds start together while Salah "rests". Amazed

Now onto your point which is worth thinking about. That's alot of games in a short space of time and he can't start them all. My answer is still he rests him in the middle where there are more options hopefully.

He could play him in all. It's probably unwise but Salah is a freak. That might also happen

Does Salah ever allow himself to be rested? Am sure he’ll start and get points this GW (from a non Salah owner)

I think Salah will be heavily used by Klopp. He probably won't complete 90 minutes in a few games but expect him to start most if not all the games. He may sit out 1 or 2 games at most until the World Cup when he can get that long overdue rest

He is certainly a machine and generally starts most games, but this period of fixtures is brutal and Everton, Napoli, Ajax & Chelsea must be the priority.

It's the same for all the premium players we hold, so going to be an emotional few weeks 🙂
Notwithstanding the Merseyside derby perspective, he will for sure sit out one game at least, maybe 2

If you think either -- or both -- get/gets 2 out of the next 3 then go with that player (if that makes sense?).

Have avoided both but common thought is that Gundo starts so would go with him

    Select 3 to bench

    1. Emerson royale
    2. Andreas
    3. Dasilva
    4. Neco.

    My thought 2,3,4.

2,3,4 although Emerson is due benching and can see Doherty starting against WHM

2FT, nothing ITB - GtG and burn a transfer or any obvious upgrades?

    Sanchez
    Cancelo, Robertson, Perisic
KDB (v), Diaz, Kulu, Martinelli, Jensen
    Haaland (c), Jesus

    Ward, Trippier, Neco, Archer

Jensen bothers me but not many alternatives at £5m

Downgrade Jensen to Da Silva as both have only had one full 90 mins or do Jensen to KDH, who looks to be a guaranteed starter, especially after Tielemans is sold
