We have chosen our best Fantasy Premier League (FPL) players for Gameweek 11 ahead of Friday’s 18:30 BST deadline.

These selections are, of course, dependent on any team news filtering out later in the day, as the earlier-than-usual deadline has brought forward the publication of the Scout Picks.

We line up in a 3-4-3 formation this week and, as ever, are limited to £83.0m for our first XI and, new to 2022/23 after a reader vote, an overall price cap of £100.0m for our 15-man squad, too.

GOALKEEPER

The best FPL goalkeepers for a Double Gameweek 22 Free Hit 8

Kepa Arrizabalaga (£4.4m) is the only Chelsea player to play every minute under Graham Potter so far, seemingly cementing his status as The Blues number one. Across those five starts in all competitions, the Spaniard has kept three clean sheets and conceded only two goals. With Edouard Mendy (£4.9m) back to full fitness, we still have to be cautious given Potter’s reputation for rotating his squad, but still, a start at Villa Park in Gameweek 11 does feel likely. Aston Villa, meanwhile, have scored just five goals in their last seven league matches and rank fourth-worst for minutes per xG in 2022/23.

DEFENDERS

FPL pre-season: Conte on Perisic and Doherty's fitness

Having been benched in successive matches this past week, we’re banking on Ivan Perisic (£5.5m) returning to the Spurs starting XI for the visit of Everton on Saturday. The Croatian’s 0.35 xGI per 90 figure is the best among all defenders with significant game-time this season, highlighting his points potential when on the pitch. It’s worth noting that Ryan Sessegnon (£4.5m) has performed very well of late, but Perisic can of course play in multiple positions, including right wing-back. Spurs, meanwhile, have conceded just 10 league goals so far, allowing just one big chance per match on average.

Aaron Cresswell (£4.8m) is included in our Scout Picks XI again, given that West Ham face goal-shy Southampton this week. The full-back failed to deliver at home to Fulham in Gameweek 10, but showed plenty of attacking potential in the final third and was unfortunate not to have walked away with an assist, having attempted six crosses and created three chances. Now, he faces a Saint side that have scored just eight goals all season and rank in the bottom three for xG.

With Wolves among the favourites to keep a clean sheet in Gameweek 11, we’ve included Max Kilman (£4.5m) in our Scout Picks XI. As toothless as the Midlands outfit have been so far, they have been fine defensively, keeping two clean sheets in four at home. In fact, the only side to have scored more than one against them at Molineux has been champions Man City. Kilman, meanwhile, has already collected four bonus points in 2022/23, whilst posting team-leading totals in a range of defensive metrics like aerial duels won, clearances and blocks.

Each week, a member of the Fantasy Football Scout community takes on the Scout Picks.

The community member who beats our team by the largest margin will win a £100 Amazon Voucher and a place in our Moderators and Contributors League for the following season.

Our champion this week is Rupert the Horse, whose selection will arrive later today.

The Community are 5-4 up on the Scout Picks this season, with Boleyn Boy‘s 81-54 victory in Gameweek 6 giving them the biggest winning margin (27 points) of 2022/23 so far.

Why is Kilman a more popular option than Jonny- is Jonny not more attacking and .1 m less? With James and Patterson badly in need of defender this week with good fixture!

Jonny has been poor and was hooked for Alt-Nouri last game. Kilman should be nailed.

Kilman has more potentials of racking bonus points when the team keeps a clean sheet
And he is the most nailed wolves defender

      Fair question.

But rationally Wolves returns are highly unlikely to come from attack. Kilman perhaps more baps friendly if there is a 0-0?

I have James Patterson and Neco and I was thinking of Jonny over Kilman as he's so much more attacking and was great when I had him last season HOWEVER with all these injuries I think nailedness is the most important factor and wolves have a lot of full backs and Jonny rarely plays 90 minutes.

Morning all. Can I get some confirmation that this is right thing to do this week...

    2FT 0.2ITB
    Sanchez Ward
    Cancelo James Trippier Perisic Neco
    Martinelli Diaz Maddison Andreas Bailey
    Kane Haaland Jesus

Diaz to Bowen/Zaha/Trossard and roll extra FT for 2FTs for GW12 (assuming James injury Isn't really bad)

It's a toss up between Zaha and Trossard for me. Palace have a really good fixture this week but Brighton perhaps have a better one in GW12.

James would probably be out for this week hopefully
Am tempted to sell cos he might be rested to be fully ready for man united
      Diaz to zaha or trossard
      Trossard short term
      Zaha longer term
Maddison is s yellow card away from suspension
      So for me avoid

Cant risk it as the bench is wafer thin and will have 3 city on bench in GW12.

Realistically how long would either stay in your team? Personally I'd hold unless changing to someone like kane. Might be better off fixing your bench particularly if it's wafer thin and you plan to bench 3 city players in gw12

    2. Moderately content penguin
      • 7 Years

Must be a chance that Edouard (who was very good last time out) misses out in the midweek game.

Could also throw Daka into the convo - Leicester are scoring goals and two quite friendly home fixtures. Another rotation risk of course but that's where I'd go for a chance of a haul.

      1. acidicleo
        • 9 Years

hmm...but they scored well against a poor NFO and couldnt score more than 1 vs a relatively poor BOU.

          True

But think home advantage is a big thing. Leeds are leaking goals away for fun but very tight at home for instance. No idea how they will be divided but expect a decent number of goals between Leicester and Palace.

Solanke for security of the 2 pointer.

C sounds good and I think there's a afair chance that Kane will rise next GW, as some will do Haaland -> Kane and Foden will be very popular by GW13 deadline.

Not that much in it to be fair, Newcastle are tight at the back and WH are leaking goals, add that they have 4 CB's doubtful (finished the game last night with a back three of Rice next to 2 FB's......) so not that dumb a question

The problem is, Southampton don't score goals and JWP has been well below par this season. Not to mention that Rashford is a completely different player and more likely to get you a goal or assist.

I guess the concern with Maddison is four yellows…..might not happen this week for sure but if it does you won’t have him for next week when you will really need him. Bowen worth a look with Saints and a leaky Liverpool next week.

Haalands ownership is crazy, as captain last week, I think each point he got was worth double digit rank raises.

If you go against, and he does fail to haul, you would be in for massive rise. Big risk though, as he can haul in any game!

I get not wanting to follow the crowd but this is madness in my opinion. Liverpool defensively have been a bid table team and Haaland is a freak who will get chances

No need. But enjoy the thrill of the risk

Im tempted to punt on Salah for his run of nice games after City.

Any love for taking the punt early and get him in for the home game vs City, massive game, crowd up for it, off back of his midweek hattrick, could we see old school Salah?

Or its just blind faith and asking for 12.7m worth of disappointment?

Would be losing Sterling and James.

Can see why it’s tempting, I’ve considered it myself. But city are just too dominant this year and West Ham isn’t an easy fixture. Probably a no from me as from gw 13 the armband will be back on Haaland

Form suggests otherwise but class is permanent. It's a lot of money for a punt so personally I wouldn't do it against the best team in the league.

Have 2 FT and no other major issues, would you do Salah to Son for this week and then bring Salah back in next week? Avoids me burning the transfer

Depends on your plans for gw12, is son to salah the only transfer you'll make and then have 2ft for gw13?

        Would do Salah > Son
        Then Son > Salah
Then have 2 FT for GW13

Would appreciate your thoughts on this messy team with 1 FT, 0.5M ITB (WC used) please.

    Pope
    Cancelo Trippier Neco
    KDB Zaha Maddison Martinelli
    Haaland Bamford Mitrovic*

    Iversen Andreas Emerson James*

    A) James > Perisic
    B) KDB > Son (c)
    C) Both for -4
    D) smth else?

D - replace one of Neco or Emerson with a playing defender. Kdb could haul and James might be back soon

I’m facing my rival and we have exactly the same team except Wilson for me and Toney for him. Goalkeeper could be a differential, now it’s Pope vs Pope, what do you suggest?

    A) Ward vs Crystal Palace (H)
    B) Kepa vs Aston Villa (A)
    C) Keep Pope vs Man U (A)

    Cheers

Any chance Neco regains his spot? Would be lovely to roll a transfer but if he is out something needs to be done

No one really knows at this point. Whoever tells you one way or another is just guessing.

James / Da Silva / Sterling to Cresswell / Zaha / Trossard for -8?

    Yay or nay?
