We have chosen our best Fantasy Premier League (FPL) players for Gameweek 26.

As ever, we are limited to £83.0m for our first XI. And, after a reader vote ahead of 2022/23, an overall price cap of £100.0m is in place for our 15-man squad, too.

GOALKEEPER

FPL review: Kepa hauls again but James misses out on clean sheet 2

Kepa Arrizabalaga (£4.7m) is our chosen goalkeeper in Gameweek 26. The Spaniard is averaging 6.0 points per start at home this season and hosts a Leeds United side who have failed to score in five of their last eight matches in all competitions. Goals have been hard to come by for Chelsea since the restart, but their defence has been solid, allowing just 1.04 expected goals (xG) per game from Gameweek 17 onwards.

DEFENDERS

FPL Gameweek 15 differentials: Estupinan among three budget picks

Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhaes (£5.2m) kept two clean sheets in Double Gameweek 25, earning 15 FPL points. The Brazilian has the highest xG tally of all FPL defenders across the season and could potentially profit at both ends of the pitch at home to Bournemouth. That’s because Gary O’Neil’s side have conceded the most attempts from set pieces in 2022/23 and scored just one goal in their previous five away contests. As for The Gunners, they have kept 11 clean sheets in 25 Premier League games – and seven of those have come in matches against teams ranked from 12th to 20th.

Pervis Estupinan (£4.7m) was a consensus pick among the Scout Squad panel. He’s become an influential figure in Roberto De Zerbi’s 4-2-3-1 formation and has established a good understanding with Moises Caicedo (5.0m) and Kaoru Mitoma (£5.3m) down Brighton and Hove Albion’s left side. The full-back missed the midweek FA Cup win over Stoke City but has since been passed fit, making him a savvy pick against a West Ham United outfit with just one away win all season.

While Aston Villa’s underlying defensive stats don’t fill us with much hope, a nice home fixture against Crystal Palace sees budget defender Tyrone Mings (£4.3m) included. The Eagles have still only scored one goal from open play in their last 11 matches and have managed just 48 shots across their previous six, the lowest in the league in that period. They have also been at the wrong end of the table for chances conceded from set pieces all season, so Mings may not get a better opportunity to open his account in 2022/23.

COMMUNITY CHAMPION

Each week, a member of the Fantasy Football Scout community takes on the Scout Picks.

The community member who beats our team by the largest margin will win a £100 Amazon voucher and a place in our Moderators and Contributors League for the following season.

Boleyn Boy’s 81-54 victory in Gameweek 6 gave them the biggest win (27 points difference) of 2022/23 so far.

Our champion this week is Could get Messi who has gone for the following: Ederson; Royal, Chilwell, Zinchenko; Mac Allister, Fernandes, Martinelli, Salah, Trossard; Toney, Kane (c)

The Scout Picks are tied 12-12 with the community this season.

    G2G?
    Sanchez - Kepa
    Trippier - Gabriel - Botman - Henry - Pinnock
    Saka - Maddison - Rashford - Mitoma - March
    Haaland - Kane - Toney

    GW27: Roll
    GW28: Haaland ➡️ Watkins/Iheanacho
    GW29: Gabriel & Saka ➡️ Shaw & Fernandes
    GW30: Toney ➡️ Haaland

    My WC:

    Raya
    Estupinan, Gabriel, Henry
    Saka, Martinelli, Mac Allister, Rashford
    Haaland, Toney, Watkins

    DDG, March, Trippier, Botman

    7.7 ITB.
-> Save 2 FT for GW 28 and get Almiron and Maddison (for full 11)
-> Then in GW 29 Get Fernandes for Martinelli

Feels weird with so much cash ITB for first 2 gws but want to maximise fixtures I think…

Around 30/31 for the run home. I'm building towards a BB 29 with lots of funds in my bench players. Will want to revert to cheap 5th def and mid afterwards

Not sure at the minute. Maybe in GW28 depending on what I want my GW29 BB team to look like. It could be after that, as reasonably set up for the coming weeks and blank.

WC in 27 has a bit more advantage than 26?

    - Haaland: Can drop Haaland after his home fixture (palace away, blank, Liv)
    - Arsenal: Would allow me to go with just one Arsenal (Saka), I know their fixtures are good but Odegaard has blanked in last 3-4 gws expect one. and arsenal fixtures from gw30 are tough.
    - Kane has wolves away so he can wait a week

        That’s exactly my thinking.

AND we get a bit more time to decide on an ‘optimal’ BB29 team and hopefully get more information on Toney

You need to cover Salah that week

People seem to forget how bad Bournmouth are.

Everyone will panic when Arsenal put 4 or 5 past them at the weekend

      1. Eleven Hag
        • 8 Years
        3 years, 3 months ago

If Salah and Liverpool look good vs mufc, I wouldn't even think of WC as they could cover the doubles in GW27 or atleast get closer. And then may FH28 and keep shaw, Salah etc for BB29 who have huge upside than the current WC players.

        1. FPL_trail_runner
          • 5 Years
          3 years, 3 months ago

I think the United game is irrelevant

Bournmouth are so bad its just a matter of targeting as much as possible

    3. _Ninja_
      • 15 Years

So the advantage to WC27 is to go without the 2 highest scores in the game and without some Arsenal players? Not feeling it tbh.

      1. Eleven Hag
        • 8 Years
        3 years, 3 months ago

It would be a difference between owning Shaw or Gabriel,
Odegaard or Maddison/Bruno from gw28 and onwards, not wasting future transfers on them. Looking at arsenal fixtures post Gw29 would u start Gabriel over Shaw? Other spots will be filled with Newcastle, Brighton, Liverpool, etc so may be difficult to own both going fwd.

Little more tinkering. A or B for this WC draft?

    Raya
    Chilwell** - Zinchenko - Estupinan
    Saka - Maddison - Rashford - Martinelli
    Haaland - Kane - Toney

(Sanchez**) (Mitoma - Pinnock - Trippier)

    A) Good to go
    B) Replace ** with Kepa + Schar/Mings

    Cheers!

Basically, he's the 2nd highest scorer all season, has 4 easy games, doesn't blank and is consistent.

Sure, I get this. Lack explosiveness but I guess the consistency takes it and the lack of other premiums.

Okay dude, seems like I offended you in some way lol…

He has a mere 2 >11poings GWs this season. I wouldn’t call that explosive.

But sure, he ticks away nicely. But srsly calm down.

it's also because the WC template allows for extra cash and makes Kane more viable as the 2nd premium

Name the defender who has only completed 90min in only 50% of his teams fixtures this season under their current manager ( 8 / 16) and has a number of 60min subs

This player will also fly to and back from Australia a few days prior to week 29 dgw to play two international matches - oh and his manager said this player needs help as he cant play every single game given his role and said his replacement has done a good job recently while not being a perfect replacement

    Everyones favorite Esptupian.

Would you bring Shaw now, means one less player for BGW28 but saves Zin to Shaw before DGW29, or just get Botman/other def with BGW28 and DGW29?

I'm seriously considering keeping him, have some value tied up / he's not that expensive for me and thy have a good dgw29. I'm not totally set on a gw28 FH, but that would of course help the desicion.

I see the following happening over the coming weeks to hurt the template wildcard

    - Brentford concede in all games between now and week 29
    - Brighton defence will outscore Attack but Estupinian will be rotated after travelling to Australia prior to week 29
    - Martinelli & Salah will outscore Mitoma + March in 27
    - Ward will be the best dgw keeper to have from 29 onwards
    - Salah away to Chelsea and City in 29 is much better double for him than last weeks two matches where both sat deep

    - Both will be on the bench in GW26.
    - Fixtures from GW27 are: Schar (WOL, nfo, MUN+wha, bre), Estupinan (lee + CRY, none, BRE+bou, tot)
    - Estupinan may miss minutes after their international friendlies (long flight to Australia)

    A) Buy Schar
    B) Buy Estupinan, book a FT for Estupinan --> Schar in the blank GW28
    C) Buy Dunk

I don't know how you came up with such a clever witty comment I'm laughing loud as I'm typing because it's so funny and original

‘You have an extra free transfer next week’ is probably the worst justification I have heard for activating a wildcard yet. 😆

I can't stomach the thought of benching Martinelli and Zinchenko in GW27. Back to the drawing board.

Might just be better to go straight to Maddison and bench him in 27.

      You can always play them

      A team of

      Kepa
      Dunk White Trippier
      Saka Martinelli Salah Rashford
      Toney Kane Haaland

in 27 will do as well as the template (Mitoma + March + Mee instead of White Martinelli and Salah)
