Ahead of this week’s Scout Picks selection, our in-house team of Sam, Marc, Tom and Neale debate the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) players they think should make the cut.

Our panelists submit 18-man player longlists with the focus just on the upcoming Gameweek – and with various stipulations, as detailed in the next section.

ABOUT THE SCOUT SQUAD

Everything you ever wanted to know about the FPL Bonus Point System - part one

Our four resident writers are solely focused on the upcoming Gameweek with their selections. Anything outside of this window, we cover in the regularly updated Watchlist.

The players who get the most votes are much more likely to make the Scout Picks, although the final XI can’t exceed £83.0m – so occasionally, cheaper alternatives have to be found.

Each of our writers must meet the following requirements for this feature:

  • At least one sub-£5.0m goalkeeper
  • At least one sub-£5.0m defender
  • At least one sub-£6.0m midfielder
  • At least one sub-£7.0m forward
  • No more than three players from the same club

We were told Ake was the only one not fit. Pep lied, that’s on him, not us. Someone made a valid point earlier. Pep likes to keep people active. He brought Haaland back in the league game before the CL. We have to hope he does the same with Kev. I can’t see him missing three games and then being thrown back in to a CL game of that magnitude. Surely Pep will want to get an hour out of him?

After Allardyce's bullish comments & the BBC giving him so much coverage this morning I am really looking forward to his post match interview after his 'visit' to the Etihad. Comparing Haaland with Joe Jordan? Get over yourself man, your b#*lsh%t stinks

The man gets off on his 'saviour' vibe. My son is a lifelong Leeds fan who could do just as good a job as Allardyce with a lot less ego on a minimum wage. Stuff the Coronation quiche I hope Sam chokes on his humble pie come teatime Saturday :-p

I think he's done what he wants, taking the pressure and coverage off of his players and putting the spotlight on him. Don't think he was trying to talk Haaland down that much to be fair, he said he wouldn't have liked to mark him

Exactly this, he’s just taking the pressure off the team. We are sat here talking about his comments instead of how terrible Leeds are, which is great management by Large Samuel

My Kane to KDB move cost me a minus 34 points vs my rival.
Would have been 60 if not for late Mac PK.

Will there be any KDB news before the deadline?

Who should I bench out of Moreno and Chilwell?

I like the thought of a punt on Chilwell (they can't lose every match?) but seems like I'm the only one thinking in that way?

I'd bench Chilwell. Chelsea are very capable of losing every game from here on in. Frank's an overweight albatross.

Jota, as painful as it sounds, keep or move on? Own Isak already:

Yes, must agree with you, think Pep will want it wrapped up by halftime tho. Then I worry that it would be a city step back & Ederson conceding yet again?

When Haalands playing if he nicks an early goal - even against the run of play - it deflates the opposition and bang by ht you're 4-0 down

Any idea what to do? I don't know. Would like to get Isak and Bruno in, but not yet but next week.

Have 2 FT, but don't like hits.

    Ederson - Kepa
    Trippier - Botman - Estu - Shaw - Henry
    Salah - Grealish - March - Mitoma - Rash
    Watkins - Jota - Haaland

Tough benching decision, prev gw went well when playing Ode over Watkins. Bench one:
    a) March (EVE)

    Please, friends:

    Steele
    TAA, Trippier, Gabriel
    Salah, Grealish, Rashford, Mitoma
    Haaland, Isak, Watkins

    Raya / March, Burn, Mee

    A. Mee to Shaw
    B. Burn to Shaw so I can bring in Wilson for Watkins next week
    C. Save
    D. Something else?

I'm probably doing B, but saving would allow me to assess for one more week if the double up on Isak-Wilson really is worth it. What do you lads think?

Difficult one. Quite many of us are in similar position. I have Ode, March, Isak, Watkins, Grealish of which I am trying to pick. Probably it comes to the point where I try get leaks from City and decide benching whether Grealish starts or not (though 20mins against Leeds can be carnage).
