I think I might just risk Joao Pedro, even if he doesn’t start hopefully goals off the bench.

Removed Trent and doubling up on Gabriel and Saliba (maybe even Zinchenko) as I think they’re underpriced.
    Son the differential pick.

Could do with 0.5 to upgrade Pedro to Wissa but can’t see where I’d get it, unless I did Son to Saka but Son is ma boy:

    Pickford
    Gabriel | Saliba | Estupinan
    Salah | Son | Bruno | Martinelli | Mbuemo
    Haaland | Joao Pedro

    Areola | Baldock | Beyer | Woodrow

Are you concerned at all by Martinellis minutes? I’m a big fan and he was in most my early drafts, but I now fear he’s at risk of rotation with Trossard & Smith-Rowe coming back into the fold.

A bit, hence why below I’ve considered Foden/Grealish instead but same issue there.

I think Jesus, Martinelli and Trossard will share starting spots.
Though one advantage is Martinelli will sometimes be up top.
I feel he’s a more natural finisher than Saka, but would have the latter still if I had 0.5.

I understand the love for Son, but I don't think there's any sign yet in preseason that he's back on form. Maybe I'm burned by starting last season with him (and not Haaland). If you want to start with him, though I'd not do the double ARS Def as it stops you 'escaping' to Saka in 1FT if you want to.

Should say, don't mind the Pedro pick, but there is going to be rotation at Brighton for sure so you'll probably get some good scores, some 1 point cameos and some complete benchings. It will need patience!

I think Wissa’s a worthwhile upgrade so I’d downgrade one of your defenders to Henry

As a spurs fan I don’t have faith in Son yet, if I was to take a punt on spurs I think it’s Maddison as the value pick and I think he will score pretty well with Ange - imagine what you could do with that extra 2m!

To be honest I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable punting on him if you feel like you can't find 0.5 for an upgrade. Looks like a big risk so I would only go for it with a backup plan to upgrade after 2-3 GWs if not starting.

7.5 maybe? Same as Darwin, Gakpo and Nkunku. Too much of an unknown quantity to be equal to Jesus, Watkins and Wilson.

Very similar to mine and lots of others, I guess! I prefer Bruno to Rash and I think there are injury concerns over DCL and Zinch, but I may be out of date on those. I've moved Mitoma to Richarlison with all the competition at Brighton, but that changes if Kane stays.

Obviously. My point is, as I’m sure you realise, is that’s a lot of
money (and potentially points) benched every week. Unless you plan to BB GW1 and WC GW2. In which case I’ll STFU.

    Haaland / Jesus (Archer)

    1. Bartowski

Don't think Porro is anymore nailed than Udogie at 4.5 on the other side, in fact he probably has more competition. Martinelli has more competition this season than last in ESR and Trossard.

      1. DIMITRIS
        • 7 Years
        2 years, 11 months ago

If I had to guess, I would say that Porro is more nailed than his competition (which would realistically only be Emerson Royal).
Do you reckon that Martinelli won't feature as much as he did last year in the starting 11 ?

        1. Bartowski
          • 15 Years
          2 years, 11 months ago

From what I've read Perisic and Reguilón are both leaving which would leave Udogie as first choice, which isn't surprising given he was first choice in Serie A for the last two seasons and cost 25 million.

Martinelli didn't have the competition last season as ESR was injured and Trossard deputised for Jesus when he was out.

Now that nudist prude has gone to bed, any faults in this team laid bare:

    Onana
    Saliba Cancelo Estu
    Foden Rich Saka Rash
    Jesus Haaland Jackson

    Areola, Chiilwell, Ahmad, Kabore

Obviously, it is dependent on Cancelo having been brought back into the bald folds of Pep.

Possibly but I will always have one good sub player that I wouldn't mind playing. Originally I had Diaz over Jesus, if he looked a starter, so that extra .5 could upgrade one of the other subs.

Or, if you want to setup like this for the long haul, maybe try to squeeze an extra 0.5m for your bench? Then you could have e.g. Villa defender for EVE bur + Baldock for EVE to cover Botman GWs2-4

Eze is a good pick, just struggling to justify him over Mitoma tbh. I think both will do fine and similar returns maybe, but is it worth going against mitoma/brighton attacker ownership? Thats what I'm thinking.

Rasmus Højlund’s contract, agreed last week with Manchester United and no changes. Deal until June 2028, option until June 2029.

Højlund, only waiting for deal to happen as soon as possible.

…Man United and Atalanta are getting closer to the agreement.

That's been the status quo for a while. Still don't fancy United's attack compared to the others.

Wolves getting smashed by Celtic in the first half. Celtic has hit the woodwork twice. Rashford captain in GW1?

Pine martyns are definitely a concern, though wolves suffer badly from human encroachment and are threatened as a result. As for frogs, any animal that can become a prince when kissed probably has a decent chance.

Tried something a bit different here:
    Flekken | Bentley
TAA Gabriel Estupinian | Beyer Baldock
    Rashford Foden Saka Martinelli Mitoma
    Haaland Wissa | Mubama

    Is this team too rotation-risky?

If you had to choose just 1

    A- Stones
    B- Shaw
    C- Chilwell

Shaw to start, but I would want Chilwell in the first few weeks at some point. I like Stones, but not really room for him unless you get Onana to cover Shaw.

Question: Good flexibility or too much on the bench?

    Onana, Hennessey
    Gabriel, Stones, TAA, Udogie, Beyer
    Saka, Mitoma, Macalister, Foden, Bruno
    Jackson, Haaland, Wissa

Didn't Forest work out a deal with Henderson recently? Hennessey lucky to see play-time.

Downgrade Mac, Udogie and upgrade Wissa to one of Jesus, Darwin, Gakpo, Watkins.

With Mahrez and Gundo gone (and KDB probably out first few weeks) who becomes the best option, Grealish, Foden or Alvare?

    1. Bobby Digital
      • 8 Years
      2 years, 11 months ago

Grealish should be nailed on that left flank, but Foden is more popular on here as he probably has a higher upside.

Grealish may be more nailed, but his output isn’t great. Foden on the other hand has great potential. No picking either myself tho.

IIRC, Fulham and Everton rotate well once they play each other in Week 1.

    Cunha (pen) G, Doherty A.

Think I'd prefer Matt Doherty + 3.5m over TAA.

Madness. If yous watched the game wolves were awful. Celtic had their 5th choice CB and a LB as their 2 centre halfs. A CM at right back and Wolves really struggled. Semedo looked ok in the first half but wouldn’t be going near any wolves players, I’d be targeting the teams playing them for Captaincies. But it was just a pre season friendly

    Which option:

    A. Martinelli and Nkunku
    B. Mitoma and Jesus plus 1m in bank to upgrade bench or keep in bank for rainy day.

    Thanks

Had him at one point but not sold on Brentford, at all. If Kane stays though, I may bring him back in for Richarlison but would probably be inclined to look elsewhere. I actually prefer Wissa a lot more, even with no pens.

    Thoughts on latest draft:
    Flekken | Bentley
TAA Gabriel Estupinian | Beyer Baldock
    Rashford Saka Martinelli Foden Mitoma
    Haaland Darwin | Mubama

Don't like keepers and rest is fine apart from Darwin as a minutes/rotation risk. I am personally starting with Salah. You could also argue you have rotation/minutes risk with Mart, Foden and Mitoma as well.
