Wow some extremely salty people on here. if you didn't set your alarm to 15 mins before the deadline and watch Let's Talk FPL Andy or any other preferred streamer for those 15 mins that's your own fault.

If you're in another time zone it's not great but you've had to deal with that for a while already, just suck it up and try not to make any transfers for a week.

I really don’t agree. Fpl brought the deadline forward by 30minutes to try and avoid leaks, it influences the game too much. Should be no advantages to anyone in the game and your comment of setting your alarm for 15mins before deadline to watch live streams is quite frankly ridiculous. I have a busy job and newborn daughter, and while I really enjoy the game I can’t dedicate time like that or obsess over it like others. I shouldn’t be disadvantaged because if that though. Then time zones have to be taken into consideration.

It was a rumour by some guy whose in and around arsenal. Having Gabriel in the first place is puzzling to me, if you watch football you'd notice he was a bit cumbersome and shaky in possession at times and this was inevitable at some point, especially after that cultured performance from Timber last week.

I guess if you can't pay attention enough/have the time you shouldn't care when you make Ill informed decisions either.

I have played fantasy for 10 years. For fun. But every year I am in doubt because it demands too much time. Most people have a life outside. It should not only be the amount of time you spend on the game that should give you the edge. It is going in the wrong direction. And I think fantasy will lose me and many others if they are not making some changes. And keeping the people that sets the alarm clock to watch an «expert». Not vecause he is a great player- but to get info on lineups.

      1. Evil Greg
        • 14 Years

You are being disingenuous to suggest anything has changed. It's always been about the most obsessed getting the edge.

I just wish I could stop making transfers as regularly as I have every year. I bet had I never taken a single hit my rank would of been twice as good.

Well. I have not been obsessed. And I have 2 top 1k finishes. Last year ended at 240 globally. But I see that the direction this is taking, is that I need to spend too much time to manage the same. So im losing interest. But that’s me.

The BBC have Arsenal playing 433
    With Partey at RB
Surely it's 343 with either Partey or Havertz being replaced when they start with 433

Partey looks like being the Stones for Arsenal. Imagine when Zinchenko is fit it will revert back the other side but I will be moving Gabriel on to James if Chelsea look good first two weeks and double up with Chilwell. No Europe to worry about either for them

    7. GoonerSteve
      • 14 Years

Pretty sure it will be a back three. I can't see why they wouldn't have played Gabriel otherwise. Timber can invert just fine already in a back 4. I think this is one of the formations well play this season, against weaker teams where we can dominate the ball, specifically.

I got him in after hearing he was starting with the thinking I would perhaps move him to Richarlison or Maddison after getting a look at spurs, or if one of the 6.5s looks good.

I thought he played okay, and the injury to KDB helps his minutes potential. So could keep him.

Well personally i didn’t choose Stones as the only certain City starters seemed to be the keeper, Rodri and Haaland. I only took Haaland. I decided Saliba over Gabriel as he had less ownership and a higher points per match. Arsenal fell away when he was injured so figured he’d be the defensive talisman. I didn’t get lucky. I just did my own research/thinking and didn’t go with the crowd

Now the De Bruyne dust has settled.

What do we think of these moves?

    Rashford + KdB > Salah + 6.5m mid -4

Would give me double Liverpool attack for next week with Jota!

Why would you even have Rashford if you're willing to get rid before he's even played one game?

It's one of the only ways I can get Salah for BOU.

I can buy anyone else for a straight swap like Fernandes, Son, etc. But selling Rash for tot is one of the only ways I can get Salah for next week.

I think Salah might be a swerve then, rather than a minus 4 if you didn't want him at this time yesterday.

See how the weekend plays out first.

But if you wanted Salah that badly for GW2 why wouldn't you just start with him?

I didn't want him desperately for GW2. I was fine not having him. But ofc that has changed now that I have the funds from KdB sitting there and it's just 2m more to get Salah.

For those of us who weren't able to get rid of Gabriel in time, it has massive repercussions-

1 It blocks your 3rd Arsenal spot for the sweet run of fixtures they have.
2 Since this seems like a tactical change (atleast for now), there will be uncertainty whether to keep him or get rid atleast for a few more GWs.
3 Since he is massively owned, you are either forced to take a price drop or act early and lose out on key information elsewhere.

I know fpl is a martathon and not a sprint but with how competitive it has become to get into the top 10k in the past few seasons, feels like you are already chasing in just the second game of the season.

This is why you need an active bench. If you've got the likes of Colwill or a 4.5 Brentford or Villa defender on it, you have 2 or even 3 weeks to assess

He could have said he's possibly dropped for tactical reasons.

That would have been straight up.

          He held back, for sure.

It's only a game for most but some make it their living too.

Massive repercussions is too far. You’re forgetting in recent seasons, there have been random Covid cancellations and FPL towers adding free hits mid-season

      1. lilmessipran
        • 11 Years

But they've had an equal impact on everyone, which is not the case with the Gabriel leak.

It didn’t impact everyone equally at all. Certain teams had more games cancelled than others and games were getting cancelled after the deadline. And the free hit thing was not fair either, if you saved your two free hits towards the end that season, you gained a massive advantage

Will then use the extra 0.5 to upgrade one of my 4.0s to Botman GW 4. Then as planned swap foden to madds/richa in gw 3. Plan made and panic abated.
