    2. Andy_Social
      • 13 Years

I'm bench boosting due to the Palace fixture. My initial draft had Ayew and Edouard, which I didn't like. So I figured whilst Palace's attack is weak, Sheff United's is non-existent, so my Palace triple-up is Johnstone, Guehi and Andersen. They're all nailed and good going forward, on and off the bench.

As much as you can be. Be good for 4-5 goals a season but you’ll get bored of him through the long runs of blanks. More one for a set and forget team.

Last season he got over 5 points but less than 10 on 3 occasions i think. A regular 3 or 4 pointer.

He's already beaten that with his haul and he also scored more goals 2 seasons ago.

Personally i think he'll have more goal involvement again and in a world with a 3-4-3 is a strong 8th attacker.

        Rodri rockets...

Yeah but there was also a piece in the press few days back claiming he felt over played last season that left him knackered. Great player, he was in my draft til Fri as an enabler for me as 1st sub but bottled it & went Eze. Still on my watchlist though

He is - his cover is Phillips, and fortunately he has a heck of an engine and doesn't get injured.
But he's a DM and last night scored his record FPL points total for a GW. Barn door/bolted. Not a good FPL asset.

at the moment, just keeping an eye on him (and his progress towards a price rise). The fact that he has now scored in back to back competitive games & his enabler price interests me. Won't do anything until i see how all my players do....a pulled hammy among my mids may influence me though.

He is the most important player in that City team...Pep is terrified of not having him. A proper modern day DM that takes part in the attacking play but also a brilliant shield to the central defenders. He only got carded 5 times all of last season as well.

I reckon he'll score more points this term (gut feel lol).

As ML league admin I did toy with dropping the cash prizes this year and just play for the kudos of winning it, beating rivals etc. But it is hard to deny that a cash reward spices it up more. At least the entry fee is fixed for the season and only a tenner in mine. The weekly, multiple entry stuff is danger to gambling thrill seekers.

There's a world of difference between splitting a pot between friends.... or spinning a roulette wheel for £15 every 45 seconds or a slot machine for say £2 every 12 seconds.

Even poker tournaments with a cash rake are less exploitative than casino gambling where the house edge means that the more you play, the more the house wins.

16 hours into the opening weekend of Fantasy Football '23-24, what's the biggest who-done it and controversy so far?

    A) How does the Man City team sheet leak so much pre-match.

    B) Gambling promos.

    C) Dodgy/veiled/unverified rumours about Gabriel.

I think he probably starts but doubt he lasts the full match. Ange has been talking Perisic up at LW so they do have options.

How are my Ovr and GW1 rank different. ?

Some might join the game from game week 2 and forward, and still get more points than you. Hence the difference in overall and gw1 teams only

This is a real concern and worrying.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-66477724
I am not a betting person, just the odd gamble now and then and I am in one paying mini league but that's it.

I notice the ads and ignore them like the articles about fanteam and all that stuff.

More should be done by those who run these sites to warn against the danger of gambling, not to promote it like it seems to be the case. I would hate to think lifes are badly affected because of this game.I will definitely not use fantasy scout anymore if no action is taken.

Same here, I ignore them, but they have been increasing over the years and now are everywhere.

FFS should definitely review what they are doing on this issue

Their choice will be "Let us cut our revenues in half and ban gambling promotions". I doubt it. They made this tactical decision a while ago and we put up with it.

True, unfortunately. I fully accept that my withdrawal of £17 membership fee won't cause them any heartache when they get £90 for every mug who signs up to a gambling outfit.

Tbf that affiliate example was a different fantasy football site who no longer do it.

Ffs did say they're not an affiliate with Bet365, but may be they have been with others in the past?

It's one of those where you walk on by when you're in control.

For some fpl is a diversion too.

            It will catch people too.

I've seen Boylesports (Fantasy 5) and Bet365 running markets on player's fantasy points score and boosting the odds to entice people in. Much like a correct score game or correct goalscorer.

They've been running fake horseracing for years, as in virtuals and this is another avenue they are looking to exploit.

Undoubtedly it's borderline with kids/teenage gambling but football ACCAs have probably done that already.

Just count the TV adds and actors/ sports people taking their buck today.

Talk Sport is one constant gambling promotion.

There's other targets, as well as here, for your mirth.

At the end of the day there's betting sites plastered over a lot of premier League Jersey's, and on the banners along the edge of the pitch and about 100 ads during every match. All that needs banned for the sake of the kids

We had almost the same team and also jumped to Foden. I am still happy that I made the choice even though the result was not that good. Kdb out for a few weeks probably helps Foden minutes.

        Yeah

        Fantasy 5.

        Boylesports.

Offers betting markets on FPL points like correct goalscorer!

        😉 🙁

        Bizarre

Perhaps they think they don't directly get paid dor it?

There was a Twitter account banging on about no gambling adds last week. Almost 60,000 followers i think and someone pointed out that they promoted Fantasy 5 in the past and they just mute them.

The Gabriel one is odd as it is not related to a line up leak yet the news came out right on the deadline. Suggests either a prank or that someone had inside info and wanted to basically cause carnage at that exact key time.

      Why not?
You chose him for 1 of 2 reasons; you wanted him, or you got leaked news (Or both)
He played well last night. i have him but knowing full well the psychological pain I would go through with any Citeh player apart from Haaland or Rodri. I think Rodri might end up doing well. He runs the show there atm.
