He was injured, or felt a twinge at least, Could still play next week, but that was the reason he went off

Fair enough. Still not sure I believe him, his captain was limping and pointing at his leg, then immediately withdrawn, but sounds like should be okay for next week either way

      The rough:
Saka(c) didn’t pay off. Gabriel and Stones didn’t start/play. Pickford is in my team.

      The smooth:
Mbuemo, Mitoma, Salah, Estu and Pedro all got returns.

Happy with starting with Chilwell and Maddison. Feel like I've saved myself a few FT from having to get them in the future.

Not good but Mbuemo scored which was good

42 but Rashford (C) to come as I fancied Wolves to get hammered.
I would take one goal and 6 pts now, if offered

He had two good chances. Blazed one over the bar and Allison made a good save with the other. Worked his socks off. Could have also set up the winner late on for Mudryk. I think he'll do well

I absolutely only have myself to blame for this... but I now have a bit of a situation on my hands with Jota I feel.

Diaz will start vs Bournemouth after his performance today. Salah & Gakpo will start. I think the game suits Nunez up top better? So not looking too good for Jota... What do you reckon?

    1. KAPTAIN KANE SERVES THE PAI…

Tricky situation, I think you almost have to stick with him given the fixture.

dunno, just wait as long as you can, maybe something makes the decision for you. Who would you move to? Maddison? He has spurs, you will really kick yourself if Jota bangs vs Bournemouth. The guy only needs 30 mins to get on the score sheet.

      1. Bubz
        • 13 Years

Yeah I'm loving the look of Maddison, but yeah, I should probably just keep for now

Diaz is Liverpool's left winger. Jota is not. I actually think Diaz is as nailed as Salah.

It’s a dilemma for sure but you are probably better to stick with a fixture like Bournemouth at home. Today great for Diaz but another opponent on another day it could be Gakpo, Jota or Darwin instead of Salah and Diaz getting the points.

      1. Bubz
        • 13 Years
        3 years, 1 day ago

Yeah... overthinking it. And I did start with Jota in full knowledge that he will come off the bench in some games. Was just unimpressed with him today.

I have him too and will likely stick for now - he didn't look great today but Darwin was a donkey as usual, and I think Gakpo will be in midfield until they sign someone.

He shouldn't drop in price either as only 3% owned.

      I had been thinking of (C) him but that's now a no-go.

So I made a bold, crazy, stupid strategy and picked a 15 man rotating squad to see if there was a more enjoyable or a different way to play the game. What would you do with this squad?

    a) Wildcard > Template

    b) Carry on and have fun with it

    c) Use FT’s to gradually change to more conventional strategy

    Ederson Onana

    James Chilwell Saliba Timber Shaw

    Rashford(c) Ødegaard Jota Maddison Eze

    Darwin Watkins Wilson

      I would not WC that!

      defintely C.

I have Salah and am transferring him out GW3/4 to upgrade Pedro. I have to and have the opposite problem.

Timber first to fodder (as Darwin will probably start, but you have Jota, so you could get lucky with one). Jota to Saka GW3?

You are definitely covered if any injuries pop up like Timber did. 🙂

I would WC personally. Whenever I leave the WC a few months I feel I don't really need it, things have usually settled down, with all the major fires put out. I think you get more bang the earlier you use it.

You could do with Haaland and a restructure, a powerful use of it imo. I can't imagine a time you'd get a bigger boost from it later.

One bad GW isn't a problem. But don't let it fester into a string of bad GWs. Fix it, and move on imo.

Purely from a pts perspective btw. If you'll have more fun with the team that you have, just keep it. Just a game after all.

i've done the same for a few seasons and did pretty bad last season as i struggled to nail the captain with Haaland ticking over @8PPG

but it did make the game more fun, i don't really care about winning my MLs tbh

I'd do B and switch Jota/Darwin for an alternative (saka/jackson) depending who you think starts vs Bournemouth

      1. F4L

altho premium defenders don't look the part this year so easy enough to fit in 1 premium like Haaland and still have a strong 13 (don't need 2 expensive GKs imo), and can just captain Haaland in home fixtures to still have fun differentials

so WC if you want Haaland to try and stay competitive-ish

      Hi Count of Monte Hristo,

      GTG

Nothing wrong with choice option & certainly not stupid - first three to four weeks
its hit & miss with first four/five games as teams settle & get past transfer deadlines- start
of season everyone equal with usual mad punts on selections that will not last season.

You have a very good squad & can time to accruate FT for first couple of weeks as squad
      in-depth covers all position - a team/idea I wish I had gone for.

Personally - Only queries to begin with having two priced keepers & no Haaland.

Cheaper keeper - possible go for a 4.0m instead of Ederson & thus giving extra 1.5m in the bank
a couple that played at the weekend options

Darwin to Haaland difference of 6.5m deducte the 1.5m & if wanting Haaland would only need to find 5.0m

Currently stick with team/early fixtures & points split across your squad - if one can hand on to international break would make it interesting for you with possible rotation

Always a risk to make early moves. If Haaland gets injured on Wednesday suddenly you'll be regretting it because you could have taken a hit to get Salah (C) for GW2.

Imo value isn't that important this early in the season over making safe decisions.

The PL introduced that “assistant manager can’t be on the touchline” rule cos they know how important Tindall is to Newcastle.

None of the FPL elites owned or advocated for Newcastle players so this was done as a deliberate ploy to try and prevent Newcastle players from scoring high points. This prevents people who play the game a different way from succeeding and ensure the “experts/elites” stay at the top.

I’m delighted to say that this strategy failed miserably this weekend.
