The next Fantasy Premier League (FPL) deadline is fast approaching, so there are transfer decisions to be made for legions of us ahead of Gameweek 4.

With that in mind, we’ve got five-time top 1k finisher and Scout’s Deputy Editor, Tom Freeman, to answer some of your conundrums over the next 60 minutes.

He’ll be on hand to first reply to requests from Premium Members in the Hot Topic below the line of this piece and will get through as many as he can until the next article goes up. If there’s time, Tom will also turn his attention to other requests in the comments section.

If you’d like to receive an email notification letting you know when future RMT Surgery’s are live, you can now do so. When editing your profile, under ‘Alerts & Notifications‘, you’ll find a section on ‘Email Notifications‘. In there is an option for ‘Rate My Team Surgery‘, check that box and you will receive an email letting you know when the surgery is about to go live.

You can, as ever, chip in with your own opinions on the RMT requests filtering through – and naturally, you’re free to ignore the article subject matter and talk about any other wider FPL topics that you’d normally be musing on.

Don’t forget that, if it’s an algorithmic answer you’re after rather than an opinion-based one, we also have a ‘Rate My Team’ tool available in the Premium Members Area.

Doubt he'll start. GW5 after the break looks ripe for a punt though. Let's see how he does against Arsenal and for Denmark.

Basically done the usual Serie A fare - haggle all summer, force him to go on strike, then get it over the line with a loan offer. Wish we'd done it sooner in the week so he'd be in contention for Arsenal though - can't see him being on the bench by Sunday.

Defo agree. Let's see if McT leaves now too.

Think we'll get battered by Arsenal though. Can see a 3-0 or something like that, with them scoring early.

If Bayern pull their fingers out with this Palhinha deal, we might be able to pawn him off on Fulham. Fingers crossed that would we get Hojbjerg too, but I think that's extremely wishful thinking.

Yeah but he's out of contract next season, so probably could have gotten him for free. Just loaned him now and offered him a contract in January. But maybe that's why this took so long, because Fiorentina wanted the most they could get for him before his contract runs out.

I'm still happy MU finally got him, give Casemiro the help he needs.

One thing I've never quite worked out is why a benching headache is a bad thing?

Isn't it better to have them in the squad, even if the wrong one is benched?

Many players are happy enough to transfer and take hits for someone not in their squad, granted 99% of the time they'll go into the starting 11.

So, what's wrong with having a good option on the bench? Even if it is a toss of a coin who to start in some weeks.

so it's the game play psychology of it then.

I'd rather have a direct route to a decent option not involving a transfer.

Skill issue. Better on your bench than not in your squad at all.

It is good, I think, but rotating your eleven around adds another roll of the dice each week, potentially giving you a higher ceiling but also the chance to turn a good call into missed points. If I think player A is gonna do well in the next 5 weeks, but rotate him in and out, football is unpredictable enough week by week that he might smash it when I bench him and blank on a high xg when I play him. Could of course work the other way too. But yeah, I’d much rather have my bench scoring points than not

    4. Wobbles

In previous years it meant limited funds for premium players.
Not so much a problem these days I guess.
I think 1 decent sub is enough. You can only play 11 each week.

For me he is the definition of a trap!

First two GWs he achieved the impressing xG of 0.06. All he did was a haul against the weakest defense in the league.

I don't trust him to replicate that results easily against other teams..

If he was a PL newbie young fella with no international experience it'd be a tad punty. Luton were decent defensively for a lot of that game but it's true, a player can play as well as he's let play. He'll be motivated enough to get back in England squad too.

I prefer the sterling wissa route.

Fair enough on the bowen 1 week punt.

Nice one. Now to decide whether to start Areola or Flekken!

The content creators are bored of saying Sterling and Maddison and have to come up with someone different.

I don't know. Must be based on first half of last season as during the latter half of that season and the first few games of this he's been somewhat of a disappointment.

He was 5.5m last season. I'd have him at that price, not 6.5m, even with all the funds sloshing around.

He's still pretty much top of chances created this season (defenders)

Am happy to leave him out and enjoy spending the extra cash.

Spreadsheet managers always have a plan to bring in key players for fixture funs.

Content creators flexing that they have funds to buy him. Plus he's a good player and has good upcoming Prem fixtures.

Can you see him getting through the first 2-3 UCL MDs with managed mins or do you think a full rest v shu/BUR is likely?

If I had more than one starting bench player for the following fixture I think I’d have done the same. But I have 3x 4.0 defs and a non starter 4.5 fwd so I think I need the 2FT in case of emergency.. unfortunately. Good luck.
