Key question is do you actually think Newcastle will stop Brentford scoring? If the answers no then you play a and its a no brainer

NEW is more likely to cs this week than Brighton. Bookies odds for both teams to score: ManU-Brighton 1,40 / NEW-BRI 1,77

I get that they are more likely, Brentford are probably more likely than Brighton too. But if Newcastle aren't keeping a clean sheet and Brentford are a dangerous opponent there is literally no upside to Sven Botman

Hmm not sure about my WC squad now, thought I'd get Luton in now with the upcoming doubles but could be a bit too weak?

    Turner (Areola)
    Udogie / Chilwell / Cash (Botman / 4m)
    Son / Mads / Salah / Saka / Mbeumo
    Haaland / Morris (Archer)

too risky? wanted to be set up well for the next few weeks

    1. The Mentaculus
      • 5 Years

Not sure about starting Morris every week tbh. If you really want him I'd rather rotate with Awoniyi. Or just ignoring Luton is fine

      1. Sir Michael Taker
        • 12 Years
        3 years, 3 days ago

I think ignoring Luton is the call. Amazing how the lure of a double gameweek attracts people to a side who look hopelessly outclassed in this league and on the evidence of their transfer window don't really have aspirations beyond not being as bad as Derby were (coming from a Derby fan). I'd fancy Everton and Burnley to beat them.

With the exception of Morris I like your starting XI. Personally I’d avoid Luton. Granted they are playing Fulham next and have DGW7 soon but they’ve looked very poor and the way you’ve setup in attack you’ll probably end up taking hits for GW8

Don't love wildcarding Turner in given he may lose his spot in the near future. Leno/Areola is a top pairing unless you're planning to play Areola every week.

I might have to go Turner & Areola if I want Son. Unfortunately some compromises are needed if you don’t want to go without Salah.

    Turner
    Chilwell Saliba Udogie
    Rashford Saka Foden Maddison Sterling
    Haaland Jackson
    Onana // Pedro Estupiñán Kabore

    A) Save FT
    B) Saka > Son
    C) Rashford > Son
    D) Foden/Pedro > Son/Archer (-4)

I sort of earmarked getting Mbeumo or someone at a similar price for Foden's spot next week - which makes less sense if going for Son.

    ... but Son!

        Why not?

Here's some interesting stats for you.

In their last 21 matches across all competitions against Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle, Tottenham and Arsenal, Brighton have won 12 of those fixtures, winning the aggregate score 38-27.

Also with their fixture turn in 10 people will be tripling up on them. Mitoma for example seems pretty fixture proof.

Wissa being sold by the bucketload is madness. Hit the post last week, is 4th overall for shots this season and tied 10th for shots on target and has Everton next week. Not like Newcastle have been watertight either with 6 goals conceded in the last 3
