Did Estupinan get rotated much last season? Thinking to get rid now as he could be benched for Man Utd/Bournemouth games.

Nope. Think he started post-IB regularly & the only game he was benched (apart from a few at the start of the season under Potter before he'd nailed down his place) was GW38

I'm worried about my squad being kind of light on depth.

Worth doing any of these to have decent backup in case of a benching or two?

    A) Osula > Archer
    B) Baldock > Gusto

The team itself doesn't need any changes this week imo.

        Turner
        Chilwell Saliba Estupinan
        Salah Saka Foden Mbeumo Maddison
        Haaland Alvarez

I planned to roll FT all along but getting a bit skittish with Estupinan's late travel, triple City etc.

        1. La Roja
          • 13 Years

Do you expect anything from Archer this GW? If not, then I’d save?

I wouldn't use the FT for defender back up given how has season panned out so far for defenders.

Not really, no. Fair point on the defenders being all kind of crap. Yeah think I'll roll. Injury issues have been addressed in the pressers.

Saka is fine, Alvarez was seen training etc. I'm confident I won't have any benchings.

The scouts agree apparently. Not sure about tomorrow but I imagine he gets at least 2 starts over the next 4...? Think it could be a nice differential play, albeit maybe better if you have WC8/9 to fall back on if it doesn't come off

      1. Hairy Potter
        • 10 Years
        2 years, 2 months ago

Yeah, it would be 3 or so GWs, then I'd downgrade to fund Salah. Looking at having a good front 8 and then commit to 3-5-2. Was originally thinking Jesus, Watkins or Jackson.

This GW, it would be Diaby. Medium term Mbeumo. Villa do have a very nice run on the horizon, but not sure how the Europa League impacts rotation and minutes for them.

      1. Thomas Magnum
        • 10 Years
        2 years, 2 months ago

Looking at wildcard next IB (if squad makes it that far) so either pick would likely last in my squad until then, or beyond, depending on performance. I do like the outlook of Villas fixture, but you’re right, Europa league does make things a bit trickier…

Wish I could fit both! Diaby does have the nice fixtures but they do coincide with UEL… Hope he still plays in the league and Europa doesn’t affect his minutes much
