I’m on 78 with Morris and Bayer to go. Sold Odegaard for Bowen but got in Watkins for Alvarez. Just a shame I pulled out of captaining him.

That’s excellent work mate. Well done! I think I’m leaning towards not capping Haaland when he’s away and someone else has a good home fixture.

Yeah having the same thought. Kind of excited about not perma-capping, makes it more interesting. One of my mini league rivals shot to first capping Watkins. Fortune favours the bold…

Yeah when I switched it back to Haaland it was quite deflating and borderline pointless given that it’s a game.

68 and I took out Watkins too, though I may have benched him anyway and shipped him for trippier so softened the blow somewhat. Odegaard is a double whammy, still a nice juicy green arrow for extra softening.

    ... for one week?

Darren England and Dan Cook have been taken off VAR and AVAR duties for Nottingham Forest vs. Brentford and Fulham vs. Chelsea following the “human error” that led to Luis Diaz’s disallowed goal against Spurs.

PGMOL: “Darren England, VAR on the Tottenham Hotspur vs. Liverpool fixture, and Dan Cook, AVAR on the same game, have been replaced for the Nottingham Forest vs. Brentford and Fulham vs. Chelsea matches today and tomorrow night respectively.

Craig Pawson will now assume England’s duties as fourth official at the City Ground while Eddie Smart will take over from Cook as assistant referee at Craven Cottage.”

        I agree

it's basic stuff and somehow the comms process didn't work and it was sacrificed for speed.

One point in VARs favour is that without VAR the goal is flagged. It's odd tho because linesmen are flagging a lot less but that shows why a check can help, if it works of course.

I missed this play in the match but it's pretty staggering really what happened.

They actually thought the onfield decision was onside so didn’t think they needed to change the decision. That’s how bad it was.

          1. AC/DC AFC
            • Fantasy Football Scout Member
            3 years, 24 days ago

            they said decision stands ...

            check complete!

because they thought a goal had been given. They obviously weren't watching, had zero situational awareness and were also incompetent.

        2. _Ninja_
          3 years, 24 days ago

I was watching live but i cant remember if i only knew it was offside because the commentator said its offside or if it showed the linesman flagging (which nowadays is after the goal is scored). VAR would be watching the screens without commentary and wonder if he wasn't shown the flag up. I'm guessing as you said as soon as it went in the net, for speed England rushed to check it wasn't offside, confirmed it wasn't and said check complete. Probably because these guys are targeted with how fast they can do it.

            • Fantasy Football Scout Member

it's all a bit murky and crazy.

Doesn't it flag up on their screen what they are checking?

Didn't they see or hear the offside call?

Did they not see where the ball was being positioned.to restart the match.

Why can't they call it back when it's their error?

            1. _Ninja_
              3 years, 24 days ago

Yup that last part blows my mind. I know as soon as Spurs take the fk the VAR cant intervene but it's just crazy. Any other time they can say to the ref, hold the play, we're looking at something, i mean they got Man u back out the tunnel to take a pen lol

I don't know how people decide that a wildcard is needed X weeks away.

gw17 could be carnage for example with injuries and red cards.

It feels like people are wildcarding because the template hasn't performed against the gw1 selections from those that got Trippier and Watkins for example and don't frequent these forums.

              1. Tonyawesome69
                3 years, 24 days ago

Primarily WC based on planning and dead ending before other teams have good fixture runs to make wholesale changes. Of course injuries and suspension may throw a spanner to the planning and may have to WC sooner than planned but that is part and parcel of the game

    2. The Mentaculus
      3 years, 24 days ago

Really tough call between Porro & Maddison... maybe Porro since your defensive lineup isn't really ideal next week

Aye I think so too. Not ideal to start Estupinan v LIV and Kabore v not in GW8 and 9 respectively.

I think Saka and Bruno are slightly better holds over the two defenders over 8-9

Nunez is looking much better VFM now his competitors are deleting themselves from the immediate action. I'd rate him more as a future hauler with more constant time on the field than punt. It all depends on if his price allows it with the overall team you want.

WC team - Is Triple Villa too much? Do I need Trippier? Marks outta 10?

    Areola

    Burn / Udogie / Cash

    Salah / Bowen / Diaby / Maddison / Son (c)

    Haaland / Watkins

Bench: Turner / Archer / Kabore / Beyer

  16. AnfieldLad
    3 years, 24 days ago

    Onana Turner
    Trippier Estu Saliba Gusto Beyer
    Salah Son Rashford JWP Nakamba
    Haaland Morris Archer
    1.2 ITB 1FT

    Would you WC?

I’m probably going to do Gusto -> Cash tonight and probably another defender transfer for a hit… or reassess and WC later in the week

Rashford to Saka if he's fit to play again.

      and again...

        3 years, 24 days ago

Saka v City though? If I don’t WC that will be a move in the near future for sure

I’m more concerned about defence. Having to play both Estu v Lfc and Saliba v City currently.

        Also playing Archer and Morris

didn't Wolves score 2 against City?

I'm less concerned about avoiding fixtures for good attacking players.

The definition of being a great player is to be the standout footballer in the harder /bigger games.

If Arsenal are to challenge City for the title a win is essential.

Hmm not a great structure you've worked your team into with Nakamba, Morris & Archer. Can you redistribute Rashford funds to patch it up?

  17. Maddamotha

Time to WC? Or just go Saka > Son?

    Pickford
    Trippier, Udogie, Estupinan
    Saka, Rash, Bruno, Mitoma, Sterling
    Haaland, Alvarez,

    Turner ,Kabore, Botman, Mubama,

Just switch up Rash and Bruno ...

would that afford you Son and Maddison if they seem fit to play next week?

      2 more games for Sterling?

      1. Maddamotha
        3 years, 24 days ago

Yes, I could. For a hit. Still have Mitoma and Estu though, which I dont see getting many points next gw. And Sterling… Lets see how he does tomorrow.

    2. AnfieldLad

I’d potentially WC, double United mid, Pickford, 2 Brighton with bad fixtures.

    Best option here ? 1ft, 1m itb

    A. Estu > cash/ Andersen
    B. Baldock > cash/ Andersen
    C. Something else?
    D. WC

    Onana
    Trippier estu udogie

    Haaland Alvarez

    Turner kabore baldock mubama

B with Cash & bench Estupinan

        1. The Mentaculus

Yeah, otherwise you'd have to play one of Andersen (new) / Estupinan (mci) in 9. Also prefer Cash's attacking threat longer-term anyway

Morning boys, so this week I’ll be getting either Trippier or Maddison.

    Which move looks best?

    A) Botman & Saka to Trippier & Diaby

    B) Botman & Foden to Trippier & Neto

    C) Botman & Foden to Burn & Maddison

Need to take a hit as 2 of my other defenders aside from Botman are Lamptey and Andersen (Luton).

    Thanks

1FT. Botman to J Anderson or Burn?

    Areola
    Trippier Cash Udogie Botman
    Salah Son Maddison Bowen
    Haaland Alvarez

    Turner Gordon Archer Kabore

Unless Botman looks like dropping in value, you can play Archer this week and save the FT. If that isnt an option, Id get Burn.

    2. Tonyawesome69

I would sell Kabore. Botman might be back after IB.

      1. Tonyawesome69

Nice gw. -158% rank change to 1.7m.

I have two ft but probably this question is not still needed: shall I wc?

    * = rubbish

    Onana* (Turner)
    Estu* Botman* Udogie Pinnock* Kabore
    Rash* Bruno* Foden* Madders Saka(inj?)
    Haaland Alvarez Archer(?)

Yep. Could give Bruno SHU and WC on IB.

Also Saka and Botman > Son and Cash could be option for free. Utd is not scoring but still kind of feels wrong to choose Saka vs City and Chelsea rather than Rash against Brentford and Sheffield.

Highest xA in the league, ever-present, on PKS, some goal threat... Off course he has been affected by the whole team, but surely United must click at some point? Fulham, Luton, Sheffield and Brentford at home in next 5GWs could be the time to bet on that.. No?

Why do people keep on looking at Utd assets? I just don’t get it. What do they have to do to put people off? Add in that there’s so many mids crushing it.

Which transfer shall I do here guys ?

    1 FT / 1.7 ITB

    Areola ( Turner )
Estu Cash Botman ( Udogie / Baldock )
    Bowen Saka Mitoma Salah Maddison
    Haaland Alvarez ( Archer )

    Stuck in the following:

    A ) Maddison > Son

Is it really stupid to go for 2x4m defenders on wildcard? Could do this...

    Leno, Areola

    Son, Salah, Neto, Saka, Diaby
    Haaland, Alvarez, Archer

    1. Wrong Captain Choice - Ag i…

You need to watch the Diaby one to see what type of injury he has. But fixtures and form wise both look like good moves - both the fulcrum of their sides.
