Yeah having the same thought. Kind of excited about not perma-capping, makes it more interesting. One of my mini league rivals shot to first capping Watkins. Fortune favours the bold…

68 and I took out Watkins too, though I may have benched him anyway and shipped him for trippier so softened the blow somewhat. Odegaard is a double whammy, still a nice juicy green arrow for extra softening.

    ... for one week?

Darren England and Dan Cook have been taken off VAR and AVAR duties for Nottingham Forest vs. Brentford and Fulham vs. Chelsea following the “human error” that led to Luis Diaz’s disallowed goal against Spurs.

PGMOL: “Darren England, VAR on the Tottenham Hotspur vs. Liverpool fixture, and Dan Cook, AVAR on the same game, have been replaced for the Nottingham Forest vs. Brentford and Fulham vs. Chelsea matches today and tomorrow night respectively.

Craig Pawson will now assume England’s duties as fourth official at the City Ground while Eddie Smart will take over from Cook as assistant referee at Craven Cottage.”

        I agree

it's basic stuff and somehow the comms process didn't work and it was sacrificed for speed.

One point in VARs favour is that without VAR the goal is flagged. It's odd tho because linesmen are flagging a lot less but that shows why a check can help, if it works of course.

I missed this play in the match but it's pretty staggering really what happened.

They actually thought the onfield decision was onside so didn’t think they needed to change the decision. That’s how bad it was.

            they said decision stands ...

            check complete!

because they thought a goal had been given. They obviously weren't watching, had zero situational awareness and were also incompetent.

          • 15 Years

I was watching live but i cant remember if i only knew it was offside because the commentator said its offside or if it showed the linesman flagging (which nowadays is after the goal is scored). VAR would be watching the screens without commentary and wonder if he wasn't shown the flag up. I'm guessing as you said as soon as it went in the net, for speed England rushed to check it wasn't offside, confirmed it wasn't and said check complete. Probably because these guys are targeted with how fast they can do it.

it's all a bit murky and crazy.

Doesn't it flag up on their screen what they are checking?

Didn't they see or hear the offside call?

Did they not see where the ball was being positioned.to restart the match.

Why can't they call it back when it's their error?

Yup that last part blows my mind. I know as soon as Spurs take the fk the VAR cant intervene but it's just crazy. Any other time they can say to the ref, hold the play, we're looking at something, i mean they got Man u back out the tunnel to take a pen lol

Price changes have been brutal this season. Team value is 101.5 including cash ITB.

I still don't think I need to WC here and can wait until GW9/10

What move would you prefer in GW8? I feel a defender transfer is the right one for GW 8 and 9. 1

I don't know how people decide that a wildcard is needed X weeks away.

gw17 could be carnage for example with injuries and red cards.

It feels like people are wildcarding because the template hasn't performed against the gw1 selections from those that got Trippier and Watkins for example and don't frequent these forums.

Primarily WC based on planning and dead ending before other teams have good fixture runs to make wholesale changes. Of course injuries and suspension may throw a spanner to the planning and may have to WC sooner than planned but that is part and parcel of the game

Really tough call between Porro & Maddison... maybe Porro since your defensive lineup isn't really ideal next week

        Cheers TM.

Aye I think so too. Not ideal to start Estupinan v LIV and Kabore v not in GW8 and 9 respectively.

I think Saka and Bruno are slightly better holds over the two defenders over 8-9

Is Nunez the best punt available?

Nunez is looking much better VFM now his competitors are deleting themselves from the immediate action. I'd rate him more as a future hauler with more constant time on the field than punt. It all depends on if his price allows it with the overall team you want.

I've noticed Salah seems to take a slight step back when he plays though. So bare that in mind. Still, Salah is becoming more the assist master in his latter years so could work well

Saka v City though? If I don’t WC that will be a move in the near future for sure

I’m more concerned about defence. Having to play both Estu v Lfc and Saliba v City currently.

        Also playing Archer and Morris

didn't Wolves score 2 against City?

I'm less concerned about avoiding fixtures for good attacking players.

The definition of being a great player is to be the standout footballer in the harder /bigger games.

If Arsenal are to challenge City for the title a win is essential.
