Thoughts on a porro udoggie double up for the good fixtures?

I actually think spurs defence looks OK, especially against the weaker teams as they are dominating the ball a lot

Double up might be overkill - get Cash over one of them? Their defence has been okay but nothing special; I wouldn't rely on them for CS points

Depends how many GWs you are looking at. For me, Spurs should have higher CS odds in the next 2 GWs over Villa

Yeah I agree, still better to diversify imo. Very easy to lose a CS even in easy fixtures.

The ideal triple up would be Porro, Maddison and Son.

No. I only took -4 twice, and I should've been more ruthless like I used to be in the past seasons. It's just self-reflection.

I would tend to agree with this, and I've taken zero hits thus far. But this season I've kept a record of various hits that I thought would produce net value in the next week (I know this isn't the appropriate time horizon but still interesting), and thus considered taking. 80% of them would have netted me more points, and something like 1 mil in additional team value.

So sick of my team my 4.3m OR (1.5k last year) and Man Utd so wildcarding to this 3-4-3

    Areola Turner
Burn Udogie Cash C Taylor Kabore
Salah son Maddison Gibbs- white Nakamba
    Watkins Haaland Alvarez

Gibbs white is a punt for a couple of weeks then to Eze / Diaby

Any thoughts? Do you prefer my current Burn/Watkins or maybe something like Tripps/Awoniyi?

I have the exact money so I need to decide today or tomorrow. No wildcard available.I already have Sterling and Joao Pedro.

    A) Salah - Joao Pedro - Archer. I will play Archer vs Fulham and then Pedro in 3-5-2 or I will use 4-5-1 in the future.
    B) Sterling - Watkins - Darwin. I will play 3-4-3, Mbeumo on the bench in gw8. If Darwin will be out in gw9, I will play Mbeumo vs Burnley and transfer out Sterling for another player.

Imo you can have a similar team but with Haaland - personally don't think you gain enough to justify excluding him.

If set on the idea, it's good in its current state though. Diaby + Archer is better imo - less of a benching dilemma

    Areola/Turner
    Cash Udogie/Porro Burn/Schar/Trippier * *
    Salah Son Maddison/Saka Diaby *
    Haaland Watkins *

So basically back to templatey team where most people will have the same 8/9 players. Hopefully captain choices will cause more variation

    Morning all,

Planning on WC next week so think I'll just go Gvardiol > Porro leaving me with the below. Good plan?

    Onana
    Porro / Colwill / Trippier
    Saka / Son / Neto / Fernandes
    Haaland / Watkins / Morris

    Turner / Estupinan / Mbuemo / Baldock.

    Main questions:
    Play Morris or Mbuemo
    Play Onana or Turner

I see Az with 99.3 usable TV clearly indicates how wrong this has turned out to be.
Do you need both Salah and Haaland?
Can you go without Salah and hope Darwin is enough?
The big one! Can we go without Haaland?
It takes a level of bravery and might determine your future OR at a very early stage.

Think it’s time for Haaland to go, I know he could go big at any time but their upcoming fixtures are poor for the foreseeable apart from Bournemouth (H) in G/W 11 but the fixture swing for teams including Liverpool, Villa, West Ham & Arsenal. Still sitting at 2 million so I’m going to take the Bull by the horns and do it 😀

    1. x.jim.x

There’s no such thing as a poor fixture for City

      1. Gazwaz80
        • 6 Years
        2 years, 2 months ago

He’s hardly been convincing, 2 decent returns in the last 7 gameweeks for his price isn’t a great return. If you just had Alvarez and Watkins ( maybe Darwin) up front then you could possibly have Son Madds Mo Saka and Bowen in midfield for their fixture swing and Tripps in defence. Not trying to be controversial, just another alternative that could pay off…

          • 11 Years

I'm not disputing that - I'm just saying that City don't have any poor fixtures on paper. They regularly humiliate Arsenal, Brighton ship goals, the derby usually has goals (scored a hat-trick against United last year), Bournemouth are Bournemouth, etc.

          Last season:
          2 goals + 2 assists vs Arsenal
          2 goals + 1 assist vs Brighton
          3 goals + 2 assists vs United
          1 goal + 2 assists vs Bournemouth

City are having their annual slump (not helped by Rodri's suspension and injury crisis) and I guarantee nobody's thinking about selling Haaland without his blank on Saturday.

Good luck. I've looked into it and don't know what to do with the money tbh. I end up either with a wad in the bank, a benching headache every week, or picking players just because I can afford them as opposed to whether they are in form, have good fixtures etc. If United were firing, it would make more sense but I wouldn't touch them with yours at the moment. Moreover, getting Haaland back in after spreading the funds throughout the squad won't be straightforward at all.

I've tried to avoid a benching dilemma with this lot but wonder what I've done with my budget 😀

I was set for A) before this gameweek but my defence was a shambles - Regulion and Botman out.
I was going to get Watkins in for Haaland. But I had to shelve that plan. Now a lot will likely do it on their wildcards.

Instead I moved to get Salah and Son in.

The only player I do not have who is not on your list - is Saka - plan to do the hokey cokey transfers with him and Son g10.

But I am tempted to get Estupinan in for Trippier gw10.

ange might be thinking now that if he doesnt play son against luton then he can play the injury card for the IB and not have him come back in tatters after two games in korea. just putting that out there 🙂

    Had a terrible week.
Anything I need to change now or stick with. Or anything to consider more long term over next coming weeks?

Team looks great, just one of those weeks I guess. Maybe Mbeumo - Diaby, depending on fitness (and purchase price)?
