    Hiya. 0.3 ITB. 1 FT.

    Leno
    Trippier Cash Udogie
    Salah Saka* Maddison Diaby JWP
    Haaland Alvarez
    Areola // Archer Botman* Kabore

    Transfer:
    A) Saka/Botman > Son/4.1m DEF?
    B) Save
    C) Other?

I had planned to save, however now definitely have doubts around Saka following tonight to the point where it may no longer make a ton of sense to hold.

    Which 4.1m DEF though?
    1) Beyer
    2) Al-Dakhil
    3) Thomas
    4) Braithwaite
    5) Bell
    6) Taylor
    7) Lamptey

First 4 are getting 90 mins. Thomas due to an injury elsewhere(?). Taylor & Lamptey less nailed. Already have Kabore!

And I suppose this has enough evidence (responses) in to suggest Taylor is in the strongest XI - https://www.uptheclarets.com/messageboard/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=72044&sid=99902a7d44da89d3a1368aab94970e85

I'd do it, even if Saka plays this weekend (which I think he will).

Branthwaite's my ideal 4.0, but go Taylor to save the 0.1.

Just make sure you have a route back to Saka in 10.

Yeah I'm more leaning this way now (Son + Taylor).

It's not a hit I necessarily wanted to take but worth the chance - although admitadly a small time frame to get him to deliver.

        - Saka/Son prices will continue to divulge
        - LUT/FUL so much better than MCI/CHE
        - GW10: Son > Saka still an option (reverse harder)

Not gonna be able to get Watkins unless selling Trippier or a combo of Son/JWP or Diaby... but absoutely need to save a FT in GW8 if I can!

Similarish position here, had no intention of selling Saka but I think now it's going to be an issue, arguably moreso if he plays this weekend as it seems like whatever issue he's been playing through may be catching up with him (either directly or through other injuries occurring). I'd punt on Lamptey. FWIW though I'm feeling less convinced that Botman is out, I've seen Howe lie way too many times about stuff like this so I wouldn't be too surprised to see him at the weekend, or who knows maybe even tonight

If you're gonna captain, I guess. Arteta could be funny and he could start again, but it's getting a bit funny now. Only thing is Son is managing an injury too!

At least Son has a few days to recover instead of being played (and re-injured) every few days.

          That's true.

I'm pretty scared of Saka's EO as he's a fantastic player, still has good fixtures upcoming.

But Son looking worth the risk of a switch for now potentially. It also given you an easy way to get him back whereas Son/Saka prices going different directions :/

Sort of wish I'd gone before a 0.2m swing now but was being a bit patient.

Pedro Neto's stats look better than Diaby.

Would you pick Neto over Diaby on a WC or do Villa's fixtures clinch it in Diaby's favour?

Have Watkins and Cash - perhaps triple AVL is asking for tri.

You could be right. Also gave triple AV but those fixtures sure look goid and they are playing well.
The Neto thing is a right dilemma as he plays in a weak team but still gets the points

Think Diaby's positioning is far more central and advanced than Neto though, and he's in a better team that's less dependant on him alone like Wolves are with Neto. More likely to pick up points I think given he's surrounded by better players that can create for him and finish what he creates more often

I agree with you - positioning wise.

Neto is more creative though - statistically more likely to be assisting.

        It's a toin coss for me, especially between GW9 - 12.

Thank you for your feedback everyone, much appreciated.

        1. Nate(U)dog(ie)
          • 5 Years

I agree he's more creative but I think that's natural compared to someone like Diaby that's effectively a second striker, likes to take the shot on himself quite a lot, 15th highest in the league for shots and 12th for shots on target. Good luck whichever way you go

            Cheers, and likewise.

The Saka injury muddies the water a bit, plus Arsenal play City so perhaps the natural Saka replacement (Ødegaard) best left till WK 9.

In any case, I think I'll go triple villa - fixtures too good to ignore - someone will get something (like NEW v SHU) - hopefully a few will get lots 🙂

I cant think of a single reason not to get Watkins. Definitely the best FWD option after Haaland. Agree?

    - Great fixtures: Faces (wol WHU LUT nfo FUL bou) in 6 of next 7 fixtures

    - Nailed on playing in an attacking villa team

    - In great form: Leading FPL points scorer at the moment: 4 goals 6 assists in 7 starts

    - Mostly Rested in Europe to give Duran a run by Emery.

Because you want to jump on a player on hot form.

hot form + great fixtures breeds fpl points. plus watkins was scoring points regularly as well before the big haul

On WC 8 abuse the Villa fixtures. Wait for Diaby news, if fit pick him

Would you WC this team or?

    Pickford
    Trippier - Udogie - Estupi
    Saka - Rashford - BrunoF - Maddison - Diaby
    Haaland - Alvarez

    Turner - Ruben - Kaboré - Archer

    A) WC
    B) Saka -> Son
    B) Saka + Ruben -> Son + Cash (for a -4)

B would be for free. Could take another hit for Rashford out f.e.

      No. I don't think so

Maybe a hit or two but not the wildcard I don't think.

Currently on a wild card and I was playing a 3,5,2 which was

    Areola
    Cash, burn, porro
    Salah, son, maddison, Neto, Bowen
    Haaland, Watkins

Then after watching united last nyt and seeing the fixtures they have I tryed a 4,3,3

    Areola
    Cash, burn, porro
    Salah, maddison, son, Bowen,
    Højlund, haaland, Watkins,

I don't know what to do, the bench is stronger with the first team, which team looks better?

If the difference that concerns you is your bench why don't you include that in your post?

If Saka is out for just this GW I could do Bruno and Semenyo to Watkins and Palmer (-4) and have a decent fixture this GW to play Palmer in before hopefully Saka returns.
