Which is the best combi of Newcastle defender and Spurs midfielder?

    1) Tripps + Son: Leaves me with the most useless bench of Kabore, Chuk and Archer.

    2) Burn + Son: Can upgrade Chuk to a 6.4 mid

    3) Tripps + Madders: Can upgrade Chuk to a 5.6 mid (Palmer, Gordon etc)

    4) Burn + Madders: Can upgrade Chuk to a 7.7 mid (Diaz, Martinelli, Jota etc)

    Neto Areola
    Tripps* Burn* Udogie Cash Kabore
    Son* Madders* Salah JWP Chuk
    Haaland Watkins Archer

My WC draft has come down to trippier Or Bowen
    Basically

Trippier + Gordon (upto 5.6 mid)
    Or
Porro + Bowen (upto 5.1 def, I had porro before his price rise)

    1. Bruno Commando

      Porro and Bowen for me

Nope, from what I have read here that combo is extremely risky because there is tactical scenario where neither starts.

Ohhh. Not sure about double arsenal defence. You might want 2 attackers soon... porro looks good. Just fixtures will turn soon. How about Schar? Loves a goal and would cover trippiers clean sheets.

Yeah I know. Villa and west ham for the best fixtures but I'm not convinced by their defences either. Truth be told, I'm looking to move Porro on this week or next but I'm not sure who to myself

That's the thing, fixtures aren't good for spurs or Newcastle, they're good for west Ham, Arsenal aston Villa, so cash Gabriel and areola from the teams, thinking of just keeping trippier as he has more avenues for points than Bowen?

    3. ShaunGoater123
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

I would say Porro and Bowen (that's what i went with on my wildcard) although Spurs fixtures turn slightly so perhaps look at someone like Gabriel instead?

      1. The Red Devil
        • 10 Years
        2 years, 1 month ago

My WC defence already will have cash Gabriel & Taylor Tsimikas on bench, so need a third defender
Leaning towards trippier as I guess tripps can haul more easily than Bowen?

It can work. I haven't had Haaland for 2 weeks and have risen from 2.6m to 500k, but GW11 looks scary without haaland so I'm expecting some pain that week

              SO does this week TBF.

If i do swap him out it is only for 3 GW's and is it worth it?

I've missed Trippier's easier fixtures, and they come good again when Salah goes to AFCON. Liverpool will flog him like Rupert the Horse until he leaves is my guess

Both are viable options and the best ones, but in coin toss category between each other. Palmer for example is no worse option than Sterling atm.

If you've got defensive cover to allow Botman to stay on the bench, then there are better players to go for this week than a Botman replacement.

I'm probably holding onto to Botman and benching him until GW12 at least. He may be back by then, but honestly I'm sick of him already

Im going to hold onto him. Dont trust Howe on ANYTHING he says, cheap enough to keep on bench, still good value even if he gets a double drop back to original price.

I currently own Trippier, I may use him as a cashcow to pump up my midfield after the Bournemouth game, at which point I hope i’ll still have Botman to use for newcastle defensive cover.

That's actually my plan also. I bought Botman at 4.6 so not absolutely certain that he is a keeper if he doesn't start vs Bou. However, things may change fast in fpl. We should have a list of managers who deserve to be called liars. Howe has to be first on that list.

A reputable source on one of ourPalace fan pods has said that Eze might be doing a little better than we first anticipated, as he’s seen him running around outside on the grass at the training ground with Olise. Doesn’t expect either to feature on Friday mind.

This will help get Palace up the pitch and make Palace defenders a better option. (That is why i am keeping Johnstone in goal

So it seems me now that unless I sell Haaland, my team for the foreseeable future will just be changing my three playing defenders according to the form and fixtures. Can’t see me wanting to get rid of either Haaland, Watkins, Salah, Son, Saka, Bowen. Could maybe recycle Neto who is my fifth midfielder, but even he is a steady player who ticks over for his price.

Started with Eze and won’t be bring him back in. Great example of a player who is amazing in real life but not a great FPL asset. I think he will be picked up by a big club in the summer. Everything goes through him.

That's hardly a worry. Things change sometimes fast in fpl.

Not worried just not very exciting. My team is good though, short of injuries the attacking part should be good for the next 5-8 weeks with minimal changes required. As you say though, a couple of injuries and an unexpected benching could change that

    2FT 0.1ITBJohnstone (Turner)
    Cash, Porro, Saliba (Kabore, Gusto)
    Salah, Son, Maddison Diaby (Eze)
    Haaland, Alvarez, Pedro

    A. Son, Eze, Pedro to Saka, Bowen Archer -4 (0.5m ITB)
    B. Son, Eze, to Saka, Mitoma (0.5 ITB)
    C. Son, Eze, Pedro, to Nunez, Martinelli, Gordon -4. (0.1 ITB)
    D. Son, Maddison, Pedro to Watkins, Saka, Gordon -4 (0.1ITB)

I bottled Eze to Gordon last week as my head was set on A

Sorry for the long post (mine usually are).

B looks good as it solves the Eze problem and gives you a little more in the bank.

I'd really want Watkins in my team more than anyone right now though.

Can you do Son, Eze and Pedro to Watkins, Bowen and Adingra/Palmer?

    Any changes to this wildcard?

    Areola, Turner
    Trippier, Cash, Gabriel, Taylor, Braithwaite

or Son to Maddison and upgrade Taylor and Braithwaite to Tsimikas and Dalot?

think i'd want a 4.5 def on bench - suspension, rotation and injuries ahead with winter schedule

Son > Madd, upgrade bench and have some chnge looks good

you dont need to. (bench Bruno)

Depends if you want to keep Bruno or not but Bowen could be a great buy as could Nunez.

Depends on if you think Haaland next two GW's is too good.

I don’t know why I do this to myself but I have been very stubborn about Mitoma all season. Not owned him once, but he is a big rank killer. Last season Mitoma did so well for me, when he wasn’t a popular pick. This season, everyone wanted Mitoma at the start so I avoided him because I don’t like being so template.

There’s not that many players however I point blank refuse to have. But I don’t like Sterling
