      Do you have 2FT?
If so, it's probably better to ship out Maddison since Burnley look pretty hopeless.

I would also consider downgrading either Luiz or JWP to a 4.5 MID, since you're forced to bench one of them every GW due to formation rules.
Then spend that cash on upgrading the DEFs or GKs.

I started this season without Haaland, and I've always had Watkins. So, in that way it's been a positive. However, in my pursuit to find a good second striker, it has been abysmal. I've had Darwin, Isak, Hojlund, and now Wilson since the start of the season. Not one of them has gotten me ANY return. How made is that?

you should probably just pick and stick with one, Darwin, Isak & Wilson have been good at times, while Hojlund seems a good pick on paper but it just hasn't happened for him yet in the league, when Toney is back he'll tick all the boxes to set and forget

That's true. However, Darwin at the start blanked twice and dropped 0.2 in two weeks, which was very frustrating. Isak had just scored a brace and seemed a good option. He then blanked twice while Darwin got 11 points in 11 minutes. Sometimes it just doesn't work out.

Ok May be me and I’ve been busy at work but I have Anthony Gordon who got the the only goal and didn’t get a bonus point. I’ve watched previous games last season where eg Kane has done little, scored a goal and consistently got 3 bonus points. Why is this?

Alvarez has been given the role of waterboy. His role had clearly been changed and is not playing behing Haaland anymore. Doku is starting to settle nicely. If you watched the actual match yesterday you would want him in your team

Sold Bruno with my one transfer as a punt rather than Saka ... so, as a Saka, Alvarez & Haaland C owner I avoided looking at my live rank because my gameweek score was so low ... surprised that a game week rank of 4 million and being bang on the average score this week has not sent me spiralling down the OR.

Hope springs eternal for us Haaland capper ... until Salah cappers get a brace, an assist and 3 bonus ... gulp 🙂

Us non-Haaland owners aren't necessarily doing any better yet, rather we are just relieved that a great big banana skin has gone. Most of us presumably own Alvarez and Saka also. Many Haaland owners have Salah/Watkins in their side, so even if they haul, there will be damage limitation. Whatever the extent of Haaland injury, it may mean his minutes are managed more carefully than before, which will make owning him more of a gamble.

Haaland captaincy were about 8 out of 10 this week. The core of players for both teams with or without are pretty similar, because they scored pretty much the same Bowen/Mitoma etc, the mids many owns, Alvarez blank etc. And generally a low scoring day in terms of the most owned players. That's probably why the rank differences are small overall. My GW rank is 7 m yet 100k down. Salah cap, Darwin, Szoboszlai, Watkins, Cash and Porro and Son left to play. Expecting my rank to be quite a bit upwards after Monday.

There should be standards on this site. Do you think I am going to take money out of my pocket to have ranting children in my posts from a small group of sad people? Being hounded by yapping poodles?

I get along with most on here and have a decent discisdion about football and FPL with most on here.

Always that small minority group who act like incessant trolls.

        I like my squad now.

The thing that I hate about non haaland owners is they think they are doing well because of skill, not because they keep getting lucky captaining Salah when if they had Haaland they would captain him because he is the most logical captain choice against Brighton and Bournemouth.

I am not saying that there is no skill, I am saying that the captain pick is luck.

You’re spot on there and a certain one or two of these owners feel the need to come on here and tell everyone how right they are not having Haaland and how they knew he’s not a good FPL asset and then wonder why they might get negative responses

And Haaland owners were completely silent last week when he got two goals and an assist against Utd?

Everyone did not captain him against United, so non owners got away with that one aswell.

I just want the non owners to admit the luck they have had, and not claim the are the greatest players in the world because they don't have Haaland in their team.

One of the first things I decided once the game opened and I saw prices was that sticking to only one of Haaland/Salah would be the most efficient tactic. With so much unbelievable talent in mid price range I decided to pick one for an extended run with the armband and change back and forth according to form and fixtures. First 8 weeks went with Haaland. Switched to salah gw9. From a purely fixtures perspective eyeing up switch back to Haaland gw 16 or 19. My OR has been bouncing around between 1k and 100k this season. As always I credit that to skill and luck, you need both.

Fwiw there was plenty of tactical reasons to justify captaining Salah over Haaland if you had both.

I like not owning Haaland, it makes the game much more fun. You've just got to be prepared to take it up the bum like a man when he hauls every seven weeks or so 😯

What separates good or bad is down to the team overall. When you cost 14 million and two out of 8 next games are not captainable, or players like Salah and Son got fixtures that are far better the skill is to see that.
Son was the best cap in nine.
Its debatable wether Haaland were that much better than Salah this week. Luton have zero defenders left.
I wouldn't say going without Haaland is why I'm doing better from GW 8 than I did, it's the team as a whole, like last week my problem wasn't Haaland it was Diaby vs Mitoma.

And most of the reason why I'm doing better now is partly because the players I pick doing better, which I cannot control. So I agree with you in the sense that its not the skill itself that explains why they do well.

And yes, going off at halftime with team 3-0 and injured, is "luck"

Some were blindly holding onto Jackson without seeing one minute of him on a pitch this season.

Luxury pick sums him up nicely. There's a haul waiting for him somewhere but he's currently bang on target to score zero goals and create just four assists this season which is fine for a 3rd or 4th defender as long as your team is full of cheap bargains elsewhere that can carry him meantime.

    Martinez
    Trippier Tsimikas Colwill
    Salah Son Maddison Bowen Martinelli
    Darwin Watkins

    Areola Alvarez Pinnock Tavares
    1ft 0.1

Early thoughts are Tavares to lascalles or Martinez to Raya. Balls to the wall option Alvarez to Nketiah is appealing no idea who I'd bench though.

Martinelli tempting captaincy alternative to salah

Unsure what to do with Saka. He’s easily Arsenals best player but they don’t look as fluid as last season. I actually think he’s done pretty well considering how Arsenal are playing. My issue is I don’t own the highest scoring player since GW4, Son.

I think he just about justifies his existence in anyone's team given Arsenal's next four fixtures - he is the 5th highest ranked player for PPG after all - but if I didn't have him, I don't think I would be buying him.

The way Arsenal and Spurs playing now Son is much more needed in our teams right now, even despite the more difficult fixtures. At the same time, Saka and Arsenal having a good run now, and whilst they're not at their best attacking wise, I think keeping Saka is the play if you have him.
      If choosing between, Son.

I might be biased though, since I had the luxury of benching him this week because I saw Newcastle as much more likely to get cs than Arsenal scoring and rather wanted to play Szoboszlai vs Luton who can't defend and particularly can't defend on their left hand side, which is where Szoboszlai will operate.

My strong guess is that all that thought process probably gets me one more points after all, but I played Trippier though, but if I'm honest I would have anyway

It's a matter of judgment on fixtures. For me, those three "hard" games being home is what made me think that run wasn't that hard, because Arsenal despite being a very good team, isn't high scoring team, and the two other home games are vs "top" teams that aren't, if it were the opposite, if you've reversed home and away I would argue that it would be a much better case to get rid.
So it's dien to how you interpret what is "good" or bad fixture/fixtures run.

The tricky part is actually the two away games after, Everton and Spurs.

A strange GW so far. Haaland will be the talking point this week, at least until Pep's first presser.
Purely an assumption, Haaland being out will force transfers for many.
My son thought Haaland to Darwin and JWP to Salah as he doesn't have him either! .1 short and more frustratingly no Arsenal.
What are the masses doing if the case? using 2 ft's would be simple but only one will create difficult decisions.
