The scout must improve with their predicted line ups. It's simply not good enough at the moment. Getting the Tsimikas call wrong has huge ramifications for people's gameweeks and seasons. Even if Gomez wasn't injured, he had started 4 of the last 5 and was due a breather. Moreover all 3 Liverpool Echo journalists had Tsimikas starting.

This!!! I would like it if the scouts do this more often.

Well done to them! We need them to send more casuals to hell as the season progresses.

      FPL VIRGIN (9 days ago):

"I was reading the predicted line ups here https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/team-news/ and a thought occurred to me and I got a shudder.

Can you imagine how hard it is juggling so many balls in the air (interpreting press conference quotes, manager trustworthiness, opinions of regional journalists, last week's starting 11, historical starting 11s in certain games, leaks, embargoed quotes, tactical quirks of the manager...to name but a few) for TWENTY teams every week.

I don't think I could do it. I'd have notepads sprawled everywhere and a system that would very quickly break down. Hats off to Neale. It's almost a superhuman effort."

Yes he’s playing the game of “hey look at me!” on the internet because he doesn’t receive attention in real life.

I just being fair. We all know how they play this character - but just correcting your assumption that the site would never let them write an article.

I do recall him have a few articles published, but my point is that's gone to his head, and now he feels entitled to be a regular submitter and be accepted into the FFS writer's guild. The constant self-lobbying is tedious now. If, as you suggest, it's a persona, then he can snap out of it if he wants to.

I've got no interest in playing a character, trolling or trying to get attention. All I want is my Tsimikas points off my bench. By making this about me, it excuses the fact that predicted line ups hasn't been good enough for quite some time. One idea would be to give the teams with zero to low ownership (i.e. Fulham) to an apprentice of Neale, freeing up his time to work on the big teams and the well owned players.

      Lol I’ll bite.

Jump the wave on Twitter had 15/30 Liverpool predictors go with Tsimikas. Not sure how you’re expecting perfection for what was a legitimate guessing game

Also can I suggest you diversify your spoon feeding?

I like the predicted lineups but if I have a dilemma like that would always try a few different sources.

I saw Jump The Wave's line up and I do use extensive sources for predicted line ups, but I put extra stock into Neale's analysis. I'm not sure if I will now going forward. I can handle getting the occasional big call wrong, but it's the not even caring and acknowledging the mistakes that really grates.

Starting 4 out of 5 is no guarantee of a breather. Many CBs play every game. The scout made the logical inference on limited information. You can't expect to know every bit of inside news before the deadline. Hard cheese old boy.

Sounds like you had a lot of research there to back your decision to start tsimikas. Good for you.

I do hope you followed that research and didn't brainless follow the predicted lineups. Which are just that - predicted.

On a serious note: it’s a prediction, not a leaked line-up, so naturally it won’t be 100% correct. Very annoying to miss that haul, I’ll agree there

If it's a one off, I wouldn't moan. But there is a pattern here. So many big calls to do with players that the FPL community rely on have been wrong this season. Livramento is another example. As someone who is acutely feeling the pain of not getting those desperately needed Tsimikas points, all I'm asking is that they try to improve. There is no other agenda. Just try to improve, please.

I mean, the guy is watching every press conference or close to it. The amount of useful info seems to be dwindling season by season. Don’t you think he’s doing the best he can?

In the «we pay, so we deserve better» category I’d rather complain about 1) poor audio equipment for some of the staff and 2) the ad/s***-ification of the FFS content over the last few years

Its also a thankless task imo. Yes he probably gets paid to do it but I'd rather get paid to do my job which is not a fun job by any stretch than sit through those press conferences trying to take snippets from the smoke and mirrors. If they are 100% out its known generally or it happens after the conference. The pressers are becoming more and more a waste of time.

I don't expect him to get 440 players across 20 teams right every week, but whatever system is being used, it has fallen down this season. So many big calls have not been right. All I want is for it to improve. The predicted line ups page is the most viewed page on the website (even more than the homepage) so it's not just me suffering here.

Hang on, last season you had a rant about the Isak/Wilson call about who would play up top in the DGW. You had a go at Neale and said you would never make a mistake about your team, Liverpool. Now you're having a go at Neale for his predicted line up for Liverpool, which you previously claimed to be an expert on. So, as a Liverpool expert, you benched Tsimikas and are now looking for someone to blame?

It's a fair point and a lesson learned. I need to listen to myself more when it comes to Liverpool. I was swayed by the hive mind and the lack of independent thought by the line up experts and the millionaire YouTubers in the FPL community.

But Gomez was injured and none of us knew about this. You can't predict that and no one knows if Gomez was fit, who would have started between them. But I honestly think Gomez would've started due to Tsimikas having a terrible first half v Toulouse and being hooked. But i made that call myself rather than looking at predicted lineups as predicted lineups are just a guessing game anyway.

I for one benched him even thoguh i though Gomez had played alot of minutes recently.

      There was so much uncertainty.

I think Tsimikas is fine for the Home/or easier fixtures. He won't be playing GW13 in all probability. And this is what this game is.

It was a pretty popular play.

8 in my league (of 16) had Tsimikas. 4 of them benched him; 3 of them sold him and 1 (lowest ranked of all of them) started him.

Oh yes, and it's worse than that. My plan was to use my 1FT to bring in Adingra, but Tsimi's midweek disaster caused me to lose faith in starting him, so sold Udogie for Lascky instead. So that one decision actually lost me nearer 20 points 🙁

Would you do Ben White to Saliba to bank the extra .4m?

Tried to be a bit differential there after the frustrating Gabriel ownership. Feels like a case of “if I can’t beat him, join him.” Saliba just seems so consistent, and more cost effective

The wagon tracks leading away left little doubt and my heart sank as I knew it could only be white hunters. Voices that had been joyous all morning were now as silent as the dead buffalo left to rot in this valley, killed only for their tongues and the price of their hides.

Did Son to Salah C for a -4 this week, so glad I did.

Thinking Martinelli to Eze next to free up funds & an Arsenal spot, think it’s worth it?

Prefer doubling up on the Arsenal defence more than the attack now although with Jesus returning after the break, I’m not sure it’s the right time to bail on Martinelli.

As it's rest of the year and not rest of the season, that takes us up to GW19 (not counting GW20 as there are games both sides of the New Year.)

      Salah, Bowen, Saka, Sterling, Mbeumo

Even though Mbeumo blanks in GW18, the fixtures after the next game against Arsenal are glorious, plus having penalties is an added touch. I think even with a game less, he will still outscore several midfielders.

I thought the on-field officials had good games yesterday, not that you'd know it watching MOTD with their obsession on officials getting things wrong. Both penalties in the Chelsea/City game, both Darwin's offsides, the Brighton red card, I thought they were correct about the non-Brighton pen too although that was where the criticism came on MOTD. All decisions they got correct on the field of play for what its worth, not influenced by VAR.

True. It was more Lasc's 6 point ceiling makes him a bit a bit boring so I thought I'd give it a bit of a YOLO.

I brought in Lasc for Burn too. Still started Tsimi over him though. Nowhere near Top 10k though mind.

Yeah, I would have made 100 this week if I'd played tsimi. Had a decent week anyway but it's what if.

I benched Tsimikas for Cash. Think it was the right move on paper, given their respective opponents and Joe Gomez potentially starting. Another gameweek and Cash keeps a clean sheet and Brentford score. That's FPL for you!
