Burnley v Liverpool team news: Darwin in for Diaz

Burnley host Liverpool in the early evening Boxing Day fixture at Turf Moor.

Kick-off is at 17:30 GMT.

Jurgen Klopp has made five changes from Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal.

Joe Gomez, Jarrell Quansah, Ryan Gravenberch, Harvey Elliott and Darwin Nunez are all handed starts, with Kostas Tsimikas, Ibrahima Konate, Curtis Jones, Dominik Szoboszlai and Luis Diaz making away.

As for Burnley, they make just one alteration, having beaten Fulham 2-0 in Gameweek 18.

Mike Tresor gets the nod over Jacob Bruun Larsen, who drops to the bench.

A win here will take Liverpool top of the league, at least until Arsenal play again on Thursday.

  True. Quality of the league is as poor as it has been for years
  
  City are at a stage where they aren’t at their peak. Compare this to the city with David silva, aguero, dzeko, yaya toure, Fernandinho, kompany. There just isn’t a comparison.
  
  Liverpool just aren’t that great. Nowhere near the team that was challenging city years back
  
  United and Chelsea are weak and in chaos. Arsenal are ok but they don’t have the quality up front. In a competitive league they wouldn’t be anywhere near the top
  
  It’s sad to see the leagues standards fall so drastically

    His distribution has been first class too. Not sure what he’s like with the ball at his feet. I also not he uses Uhlsport gloves, old school keeper brand that, a homage to the old Gods. More power to him!
