I saw a lot of benchers and in my mini league. Not sure I understood the logic playing against a bottom 3 team

I wanted to play him, believe me, but between him and Saka/Richarlison/Solanke, Palmer seemed the least risky on bench. I was very wrong it seems.

Can someone please remind me of what the "reasoning" is behind this ridiculous pre-historic bureaucracy that blocks those living in the UK who pay peak price rip off TNT/Sky subscriptions why we don't have access to 3pm fixtures let alone all fixtures like other countries to for a fraction of the price? Even if we pay more in the UK we should have ALL fixtures - it's mental. And Sky act like they're doing their customers a solid with the new rights deal from 2026? It sucks!

I honestly think the only way to drive an adequate offering from Sky and the Premier League/FA is with a mass fan boycott and instead purchasing the unofficial streaming solutions.

To ensure the sustainability of lower league football.

The blackout means that lower league attendances would remain higher.

      1. JOELIO8701
        • 10 Years
        2 years, 3 months ago

This is a low level justification - what evidence do they have that having the 3pm games would significantly affect 3pm lower league games? So many things wrong with this reasoning:

        1. No evidence
        2. Cost firmly outweighs the non-proven benefit
        3. Lower league clubs should improve their own proposition to attract attendance
        4. Most Ppl attending live games are likely seeking a live in-person football experience anyways vs watching higher profiles games in living room (which they could find a way to do via streaming anyway if that was the goal)
        5. Should we ban gaming, restaurants and pubs at 3pm also?
        6. If this 3pm lower leagues attendance hypothesis was proven (which I’d bet against), why not just change the day /time of the games (not that it would be necessary anyway)

Baffled why people keep benching Palmer, I’ll be honest.

Bought at 5m and have played him in every single match aside from when he was suspended last time out. If Chelsea score, chances are he’s involved almost every time it seems.

Navigating the Christmas period with a strong 8 was helpful and somewhat inevitable with Haaland out. The problem is when everyone is available you've got a benching headache. It's unlucky not stupid in my opinion.
