That South Korea goal and win screwed me out of a differential this week.

    Oh well,

Son + Alvarez -> Haaland and Gordon

Haaland more than KDB. He's had far note sellers than buyers over last month and a half. Drops .1. One day of transfer ins , .1 rise

I believe price changes are more sensitive to the rate of transfers than to the volume of transfers. Say, something like 20k sales for 5 consecutive days are probably less likely to result in a price change than 50k purchases in a day, even though the volume is higher in the former case.

KDB wasn't that surprising. Had already risen 0.3 & on the last day more brought in (on top of whatever delta they had) - but 100% people also making the move after the deadline too.

Haaland was way more surprising. A few sites was nowhere near a estimated rise, still perhaps unlikely to start and hasn't played a minute yet.

Funny how Burnley were the dominant Championship team most likely to avoid relegation, while everyone thought Luton were going to be a disaster, and it's turned out pretty much the opposite.

It's a classic case of the progressive side trying to play which worked vs lesser sides but doesn't work against superior side vs a team that just plays with physicality, a little bit if old style and a functional set up. Also recruitment by Burnley probably failed them.
That's a simplifying answer, I know. Seen teams coming up with similar approach like Burnley and they survived, Swansea from the memory.
Luton home strength also perhaps stronger than most people expected.

Team spirit counts for a lot.

Bradford City kept the bulk of the promotion squad together in 1999/2000 and under Jewell beat champions league chasing Liverpool (who also needed the points) to victory in the final day of the 2000/2001 season to secure survival in the Premier League.

Much to the clubs subsequent downfall.

It's time that FPL make their price rise/fall formula transparent and consistent. Heck, even have a price rise/fall table on the FPL home page.

Firstly, I don't actually believe they manually manipulate prices like others, because, why bother? They invest minimal time or effort into any facet of the game - platforms, updates, prizes, promotion etc - so why would there be someone overriding the code on a daily basis?

Secondly, totally agree the price change formula needs some transparency.

In the words of the great Canadian FPL manager Avril, why'd you have to go and make things so complicated? This is a game where the actual points scoring is so simple that variance is the main determinant of success, but you need an actuarial degree to understand price change. Bizarre.

I'm no computer scientist but their code as you put it is a daily update to a database that displays player prices on a webpage. Don't think it takes any effort to hold things back, simply type in 13.9 where the spreadsheet tells you 13.8

Takes far less effort than removing an assist mid game, although I think that's pretty simple too.

The history of human endeavour shows that people flock together like birds of a feather.

It's obviously left a bad taste for some when people are profiting off of insider trading.

            Yeah.

I normally found if I acted on a Rockstar leak with a tweak, or even a transfer I'd have been better off in that gw letting the auto sub do it's work.

I'd have been tempted towards Estu so that would have fallen flat if I'd have heard Walker was being dropped.

The great and the good article could make interesting reading this week nonetheless.

It seems like it was late news post 5pm.

The obvious criticism is if people are charging for a FPL stream or tipping service and not sharing insider information, even late in the day then they are treating their punters like mugs.

And I deliberately say tipping because the content is ultimately who to select and who is likely to do well. This is what subscribers are paying cash for.

Can't monetise it AND keep it to yourself.

It's an obvious error in judgement.

Leaks have a habit of backfiring one way or the other and so they should if it's restricted and 'privileged ' information.

Yeah I needed a decent differential too to catch up so went heavy on Brighton.. safe to say it’s not paid off

          Jota?

The Luton or Forest strikers look good again.

Keep Gross for one more week. If he and Brighton do nothing again then he is a sell

Okay sounds good, I’ve brought haaland in anyway so don’t mind keeping Gross for another week.

Who gets benched next round? Palmer, Jota, Watkins?

Too crazy choice, Jota by the fixture, Watkins by the potential ceiling

The price rises and falls system clearly needs an overhaul.

I propose price changes and falls change once a week, at deadline during the update but cumulatively for all the previous weeks' activity.

Making early transfers to beat rises is conducive to how the game should be played. Take that element out.

Frauded changes are one of the aspects that may drive ppl away of the game, really so hard to have a clear policy...?

I was planning to roll a transfer last gw, then 2 mins before deadline I brought in Richarlison for Son - fomo of those next four Spurs fixtures and not trusting Foden as (c).
All well and good hopefully for this current GW.
But looking at next week… I have got one hell of a benching decision among my front 8 every week now, Palmer/Gordon being my cheapest attackers, but both looking unbenchable next week…

    Who would you bench from…

    Haaland-Watkins-Solanke
