        cant see that happening

Arsenal only beat poor quality teams heavily

Even they're best league win vs a good team at vs Liverpool only went that way because Allison and VVD did a comedy routine to let Martinelli tap into an open goal.

Tell me which good team they have ripped apart this season ?

you were good for about 20 mins first half then had a melt down when u conceded and it took the comedy and open goal tap in to get u back into any decent pattern of play. U have done well this season in general no doubt and u can thrash the out of form teams and bottom 5 teams easily but that doesn't translate to doing well in the Quarters of the Champions League.

My point is still the same, Arsenal is not ready yet for the Elite teams, you need some experince still in these games, maybe next season or the year after you will be ready.

Just hope that you get an easier tie or the team has massive injuries or something.

Nah, we totally deserved that win against Liverpool and we are a better team than them now, yet they're still regarded as elite. And I'm not disagreeing about us in Europe but we are an elite team now. Our defence is so strong and bozo moments are the only reason we concede goals. Arteta has gone for control this season and it's showing. Whatever happens this season, it's still a young team and it's exciting to be challenging once again, knowing there's so much more to come.

Look Im not saying Arsenal isnt a good team or even a great team but they are just about reaching Elite in the Prem but Europe is a different story - look at city and how they were knocked out by teams like Monaco while dominating the prem - UCL is a different story and its not like Arsenal have a history of doing well that they can fall back on.

Im sure it must be great to be involved and challenging again but as you said its a young team i.e inexperienced and like in the Liverpool game when u conceded the equaliser you wobbled and it took a moment of fortune to get back on track, on balance of play you probably did deserve to win that day though, I agree on that.

But just look at that year when city was 99% to go through vs Madrid with mins to go and they still managed to lose.

But anyway you just enjoy being back in the UCL and being through the QF - its a great achievement for Arsenal.

As an arsenal fan myself. This take is slightly delusional. Despite the win we should really be beating Porto over two legs. The fact it went to penalties is an indictment to our credentials in the CL. QFs is fantastic for this young/inexperienced squad but you’d think we’ll struggle against whoever we face next.
As for Liverpool comparisons - leave that out. We haven’t beaten them at Anfield since 2012. 2012!!!

My FPL cup tie depends on whether

    Solanke - Doherty => 6 points

Feel like it could be mighty close

    1. More Cowbell
      • 15 Years

Incidentally does anyone know for the tie breaker whether the triple captain would be a factor.

I.E. first the tie breaker is “most goals scored in a gameweek”. At the moment we both have 1 goal. He has Solanke TC though. If Solanke scores tomorrow, would that count as 3 goals towards the tie breaker or just 1?

Presumably if Solanke scores and he's played the TC, he'd get 12 points and beat you on points and it wouldn't go to a tie break?

        1. More Cowbell
          • 15 Years
          1 year, 8 months ago

Not necessarily, if Solanke gets 7 points and Doherty gets 1, we’re tied, or 8 and 2 etc.

    2. nerd_is_the_werd
      • 6 Years
      1 year, 8 months ago

I think you're in trouble pal.
It's a draw if both blank (i.e. max 1-0 Bournemouth, no Solanke goal contribution).

Other than that, it's pretty much over.
Have to hope Doughty gets something and Solanke nothing.
If Solanke gets any goal contribution, it's also over regardless of what Doughty does.

      1. More Cowbell
        • 15 Years

Nah, I’m 5 points ahead and have Doherty and Solanke cap. He has Solanke TC. Lots of ways I can win this, including if Solanke scores 1.

I’m just interested, why Kabore? He’s been deadweight in my team for months, has only recently started matches and Doughty seems the superior pick?

It’s very putty; Cash not a guaranteed starter, I’m not excited by Gibbs (prefer Elanga if news he starts) and can’t see past Maddison being in the 11. I’d also want Morris (stats are great and he’s home to Forest); if I was going to drop anyone for Muniz it’s out of form Toney (but going Toney as Burnley much easier than Spurs)

Every thousand years, I test each life system in the Universe. I visit it with mysteries, earthquakes, unpredicted eclipses, strange craters in the wilderness...
If these are taken as natural, I judge that system ignorant and harmless - I spare it. But if the Hand of Ming is recognized in these events, I judge that system dangerous to us. I call upon the great god Dyzan, and for his greater glory, and for our mutual pleasure, I destroy it utterly.
