Reasonably happy with my GW30 team, but means playing one of Doughty Gab or Estu away at top 5 opposition:
    Leno
    Zabarnyi Porro Doughty
    Son Maddison Salah Palmer Bowen
    Toney Watkins
    (Areola Morris Gabriel Estu)

Already done Barkley > Salah for free, & will wait until later in the break,
but would you hit out either Doughty or Estu for Gusto?

Would only have one week to pay off as WC31, but I think it might just....

I am in pretty similar situation:

      Neto / Areola
Porro, Bradley / Doughty*, Gabi, Saliba
      Son, Maddison, Palmer, Bowen*, Foden
      Watkins, Muniz, Morris

I don't think it's going to pay off and I am considering also Morris to Darwin. However, it could be fun move. And if things go horribly wrong, there is possibility to play WC this week.

Normally now wouldn't be time to make early transfers, but since my plan is to WC 31, basically because of Maddison has Luton this week and my 3rd def this week is Gabriel... I think I can play my WC also this week if needed. No big difference.

However, since my OR is outside of top 300k it might be time be lucky. Che has decent CS odds and Gusto is attacking. So if the mathematical loss is perhaps 2 pts, there is perhaps 40% chance for CS and 25-35% chance for attacking return. Chance to haul might about 20% And that little money saved could be helpful later.

I’d certainly be tempted to WC that.
Mid is decent for this week, but there’s at least 6-7 changes I’d make overall.
You could sort your def out for this week maybe take a hit and WC31 could work better.

Currently on below with 0.7itb. I'm mostly unsure about the keepers and whether to go with Darwin or Solanke. Depending on the fixture announcement I might go Muniz -> Semenyo if I BB on 34.

          Raya Areola
          Saliba AitNouri Branthwaite Gusto Richards
          Salah Son Saka Foden Palmer
          Haaland Solanke Muniz

Maybe. Not yet decided on chip strategy so will either BB34 and FH37 or the other way round. Current team is more leaning towards BB34 but if I decide to FH that week the defence will change the most. Midfield is 100% lock unless there are any injuries during international break

          2. WVA
            • 9 Years

So your BB 34 would be Areola Muniz Branthwaite Richards?

            1. aapoman
              • 12 Years
              2 years, 16 days ago

Maybe. But as said I'd likely have Semenyo over Muniz if BB34. Likely another keeper as well. When people use bench boost it is usually for 3 defensive players (2 def + keeper) and one attacker so if the fixtures fall as Crellin has predicted it is a completely viable bench boost. People overrate that chip so much I don't think it is worth building a stacked bench just because of one week bench boost

Completely agree, I was thinking Areola Semenyo Richards Taylor as it allows a stacked team.

                Pickford
                VVD White Gusto
                Sala Son Saka Palmer Foden/Gordon

I like the Gordon pick. If I really want to improve the defence I'll likely go there as well with Foden the most propable player to get cut. We will see. Eager to see how the fixtures fall

Foden. Either is a big risk of course but there’s a slight chance of rotation following Pep’s comments and it avoids the City double up. I’m punting on an Arsenal win too - I know it’s not a popular view but think Arsenal are the form team this year

Anyone got a good GW34 team. I’ve used my FH so working up to it.

Based on predicted matches which seem to show Utd playing Shef Utd, and assuming Haaland gets Brighton or Spurs I’m thinking this.

    Sa (Leno)
VVD Gabriel Kerkez (Maguire if K doesn’t play)
    Salah Saka Odegaard/Havertz Garnacho (Palmer)
    Darwin Haaland Solanke

    That’s
GW30 Salah Muniz for Foden Watkins (-4)
    GW31 VVD for Trippier
    GW32 Sa for Leno
GW34 Ødegaard/Havertz Darwin for Son Muniz (depending on which Arsenal I can afford)

    Welcome comments

    Son Saka Foden Palmer
    Haaland Watkins Solanke
    Areola // Hwang* Doughty Taylor

Hopefully Gabriel pulls though, but a little light in the defence department if he's out. Fingers crossed Kerkez starts again, otherwise I may just let the subs come on. (Any defensive transfer would have GW34 in mind.)

Was originally planning to do Hwang/Solanke > Salah/Muniz (-4) - but do you reckon Watkins out instead a better choice?

Risky with with Wolves FA Cup loss, but Solanke does have better fixture and a likely DGW (not again...).

Of course will have patience over the IB but anything else you'd look at?

Sorry to hear about the flight and I can commiserate on the FH (and owning Kerkez). Burkina Faso have a couple of tough friendlies on Thursday and Monday; not wishing and ill will but who knows what happens in the IB.

I’m thinking Salah is essential so going for the same hit, except for Watkins as I want Solanke for the predicted double.

Good advice and I certibaily have the breathing room to see how the next two weeks pans out.

My only slight reservation on Salah is that Ramadan extends to GW32 but he’s been in this situation before and I think still played well.

    Post redirection sorry
The great and the good league:
20 from 20 same captain. 19 from 20 same vice. Points variance 9 points (15 to 24) 16 from 20 same chips. Points variance 50 points from 1st to 10th. 14 from 20 using FH.
Have you ever encountered such a boring mini league? Absolute zero variance. A case of all feeding off each other. Quality FPL managers no doubt, but limited in content for sure.

Not much chance for variety given only four fixtures. Better to criticize during a full game week.

How’s this looking? Feeling I’m set for rest of the season with my cheap defenders rotating and the front 7 remaining static throughout

Think I'm gonna go kiwior for arsenal defence cover when the time comes to WC. He is not as nailed as others but has been so impressive with display and returns lately that I am willing to take the risk.

He's been very good but I would worry a bit with Timber and Tomiyasu close to returns. I'm on White on WC at the moment, expensive option but he's been so good lately

Got this team after taking one hit to accommodate Salah

Shall I take another hit Bowen > Palmer, Yes or No?

I've been having a look at Watkins vs Son up until GW37 and im leaning towards selling Son to bring in Salah.

Watkins WOL city BRE ars BOU CHE bha

Son LUT whu NOT new blank ARS liv

Bringing in Salah in GW31, Watkins is an easy bench vs city for most as 352 will be popular with template (ish) teams. Son away at West Ham.

GW32 - Brentford at home for Watkins could be a hiding behind the sofa kind of game if you dont own Watkins, ex club and conceding goals. Nice fixture for Son vs Forest at home but is that where it ends?

GW33 - Bench Watkins vs ars for his last tough fixture on paper, decent fixtures for template midfielders (352). Son away at Newcastle.

GW34-36 - Watkins fixtures are much better than Son.

I know doubles and blanks are due to be added but losing Son over Watkins probably takes 1 less transfer to bring in Salah so effectively banking 4 points in the process.

    Whats everyones thoughts on this?

Probably depends on what chips you have. Still have WC? I'd be tempted to lose Watkins (I got rid a while ago and am not getting him back, only really the Brentford fixture that stands out for me until GW34. If you're free hitting in GW34 similarly (or if you're doing both of the above) then again I think he can wait.

Personally I'm losing Son on WC as well. I had read a lot of comments from Spurs fans weeks ago saying they had looked poor (around the time loads got Son in) and Richarlison's return means Son goes back out wide. Tough run after GW32 and can see West Ham or Forest frustrating Spurs so I think it's a risk worth taking

    Doughty Porro Zabarnyi

Douglas Luiz Bowen Foden Saka Son (c)

    3. Just Bowen to Salah for free

    4. Other?

    5. Save

    Current team:

    Dubravka (Areola)
    Porro Zabarnye Maguire (Gabriel Kerkez)
    Foden Saka Son Palmer (Barkley)
    Watkins Solanke Haalad

    Which option looks best.
    A. Save transfer

    B. Foden and Porro to Salah and Gusto/Branthwaite for a -4

    C. Something else

    Thanks.

Morning All, I think getting Salah is a must, can only get him for free if I sell Son, worth a hit selling Foden or Watkins?

    A. Son > Salah
    B. Watkins, Neto > Muniz, Salah (-4)
    C. Foden, Saliba > Salah, Gusto (-4)

    Dubravka
    Bradley Zabarnyi Gabriel
    Saka Foden Son Palmer
    Haaland Watkins Solanke

Areola Neto Konsa Saliba 1 FT 3.9 ITB

Pulled the trigger on the WC last night. Was between 30 and 31 but the enjoyment of a 2 week tinker plus price rises had me going this gameweek.

Fairly template but can fit in all the big hitters. Zero left in the bank.
    Anything I'm missing?

    Pickford / Kelleher
    Gabriel / Walker / Gusto / Burn / Branthwaite
    Salah / Saka / Son / Foden / Palmer
    Haaland / Watkins / Muniz

Looks good. Not sure on Kelleher though. Takes a Pool spot and likely gets dropped as soon as Alisson is fit. I'd drop Watkins for Solanke/Darwin and upgrade Kelleher

Yeah I'm not sure on Kelleher but he was the only one I could afford with the rest of the team.

Watkins and walker both candidates for being dropped to upgrade keeper.

If you're going template then I'd say you're fairly covered, although personally I'd drop Walker. Been rotated a few times too many for me in recent weeks and I don't like City's next few fixtures for clean sheets when they've been pretty poor defensively

        • 4 Years

Yeah walker is only there for cities potential double coming up.

Sacrifice Foden or Richarlison for Salah? is it worth a hit? or do it for free in 31? already keeping son, so thinking of selling richarlison in 31 for salah
