Does anyone know where the best place is to find out about the game launch as soon as possible?
Do I need to be following FPL on twitter. I mean, I don't even use Twitter. I still call it "Twitter".
Could someone from FPL towers just whatsapp me when the game is launched, please?

5 free transfers makes it easier going without Haaland. If he has difficult fixtures in the next 2-3 weeks, then get rid of him and then you can easily get him back with 3-4 free transfers

You will have a strong bench if you go without Haaland. One or two injuries will not force you to make transfers

Not sure any more. I may have been wrong on the previous page. It's ambiguous based on this article.

      1. Deulofail
        • 10 Years
        2 years, 1 month ago

Actually, based on this article, it seems more likely you'll have only 1FT, unfortunately. I guess I got too excited

        1. Deulofail
          • 10 Years
          2 years, 1 month ago

Based on the PL article, it's back to just ambiguous again. I guess the person who wrote it doesn't really play FPL

"On top of that, when you play the Wildcard and Free Hit chips, your saved transfers will no longer reset to zero.

So you can now save five free transfers, then play any of your chips and immediately have five free transfers to use in the following Gameweek."

          https://www.premierleague.com/news/4058895

If the mechanism that stopped us saving a FT when playing a chip was to "reset transfers to zero", then removing it, would suggest we can save 4 transfers, play a chip, then have 5 transfers to play thenext week. But maybe that is exactly what te mean by "saving 5 transfers" - it includes the week that you play a chip. All very confusing, but now I'm leaning back towards, "yes, 2FTs!":!:

Oh wait, I didn't finish reading. The following sentences suggests no, only 1FT:

"You've always been able to keep two free transfers when playing the Bench Boost and Triple Captain chips, so there's no real change there - except that you can now bank the extra three free transfers as well!"

You don't gain +1 for he week you play a chip.

If you don’t spend your transfer in GW2 then the rule suggest you carry that over to GW3.

One by the sounds of it (works same as FH)

(quote from website) let's say you have four free transfers saved ahead of Gameweek 29 but decide to activate the Free Hit instead. You will, under the new rules, still have four free transfers for Gameweek 30, when your original squad is returned to you.

No. For GW2 you can only have 1FT, as you can’t “save” before GW1. If you WC, GW3 you have 1 FT, as you don’t get a transfer the week you wildcard.

The difference as I see now is that if you saved GW2, and WC in GW3, for GW4 you’d have 2 FTs. Last year if you did the same thing you’d be at 1 FT, as the wildcard used to reset the free transfers - not anymore.

So many interesting changes they could have come up with that would affect the strategies and make the game more exciting and yet this is the best they could do.

I agree. I don't personally feel these are significant changes either. If you enjoy tinkering like me (x1 transfer a week) I prefer to play the fixtures rather than have a 'set squad'. Not gonna change other than BPS side of things. I guess we all got a choice but I personally don't think it's going to quote 'change the way I play'

Do you mean that all three strikers get triple-captained?

More than 3 players from a team for one GW... imagine a team full of Liverpool players when they’re playing a dead team

Interesting - would that work like a Free Hit as well? Because obviously the week before and the week after you’d have to adhere to the limits again, so it would be a lot of hits unless it was a one-week squad replacement.

Would prefer not to have it, but perhaps something that isn't too silly and luck orientated if possible?

Both of those actually look good - does Power Captain apply across the whole squad in case of a terrible benching choice?

Smart move is to play that first week, before Kyle absorbs too much emotional baggage
