    Settled on this now…

    Pope
    Trent / Munoz / VDV
    Salah / Son / Saka / BrunoF / Nkunku
    Isak / Muniz

    Ruddy / Barco / Faes / Jebby

I'm still struggling with my 6.5m midfielder slot.

    I want to punt Elliott.

Kulu is shiny but Johnson/Maddison/Son/Werner/Bergvall/Richy is too many options for 3 slots.

MGW then, but Nkunku is class , Chelsea weren't brilliant last season but Palmer still got points. I'm going Bruno and will downgrade to the stand 6.5m in a few weeks to get an Arsenal def

Lots of potential at 5.5, hard to call which will emerge... I like Semenyo.

And I reckon I prefer Gordon to Eze, but currently have neither, with Jota and Mbuemo instead.

I like it but I think if you're going for Salah, I personally wouldn't then get another Pool mid. You're already locking up a load of funds on two premiums, and if Pool have a bad start you're then compounding the problem by having two mids. Also bench too expensive for my liking, Wood not nailed, and plenty of other good and cheaper keeper options. 6/10

      1. have you seen cyan
        • 6 Years
        1 year, 6 months ago

Jota might change, but with the best fixtures I want 2 pool attackers if I cant have TAA.

Surprised you guys scoring this only around 6. Its a very strong team IMO. But then again I would think that.

        1. Udogie-style
          • 2 Years

Well I do like the team but for the reasons I gave I thought it could be improved. For me, having all that extra money on the bench and 0.5 in the bank is being wasteful. I also think there are better 5.5m mid options.

Regarding two Pool: Personally I just think spreading the risk is a better option there. It could go brilliantly for you if they both start well, but if it goes the other way your cash is stuck in Salah and you've got another non-earning mid slot with Jota. Remember, new manager, and Pool have had ropey starts to the season previously. If you're ok with that risk then just go with your gut and do it.

Better options in goals for early potential clean sheets/saves i.e. Leno/Pickford
Porro good for attacking pts but Spurs not likely to clean sheet early
      Barco has really tough fixtures
Double up on Jota seems risky given the uncertainty on his minutes
CHO/Wood double up risky. Bournemouth isn’t as easy as it’s been rated as. They made massive improvements last season and Forest aren’t really known for goal feats
Funds could be better distributed to get you those players you’re already considering. Transferring out Haaland at any point for Solanke seems madness. Just find that extra 1.5m now and get him in from the start.
      Onana > Henderson
      Munoz > Saliba
      Porro > Dalot
      Davis > Konsa
      Jota > MGW
      CHO > Rogers/Bobb

I personally don’t think it can be done.

You have to get extremely lucky with your budget picks, of which there are quite a few.

For a GW1 team I think it’s probably safer to go with ‘tried and tested’ and then maybe asses if a Haaland + Salah team is viable with an early wildcard.

It’s really tough this year, which makes it interesting.

Couple of crystal ball-type questions I'm afraid.

Is Bergvall a viable bench mid?
Not necessarily for starts, but it strikes me he could play a part most weeks, and at the end of the day is there much difference in say Winks' steady 2ppg & Bergvall's 1 with a potential 3/4/5 off the bench.

    Carvalho to Brentford.....
I know it depends on Toney, but could this be the next Palmer/Andreas situation or is there still too much competition?

Just thinking outside the box (and trying to shoehorn Solanke in)

Ibrahim Sangaré is better than Winks at 4.5m.

I like Bergvall for the flair pick, will get mins regularly because of sheer quality despite his tender age.

So there are contract issues with Isak and he didn't play the last game, correct? Might he be benched until the contract issue is sorted?

He played last night and was very good except for having a penalty save. He's played well in preseason as well.

There are noises that Newcastle want to give him and Gordon better contracts, partly due to them earning less this season without the Champions League bonuses.

Solanke to Spurs has made me rethink a team that I had settled with for a while. Any thoughts on the below?

    Raya
    Konsa | Myko | Andersen | VDV | Faes
    Saka | Eze | Fernandes | Gordon | Winks
    Haaland | Solanke | Isak

Pretty similar to mine. Apparently, Bergvall is the trendy pick for a 4.5 mid, but other than that looks pretty solid. I like the Bruno punt - too bad I'm not brave to actually bet my own team.

    Which 4 players?

    a) Sake + Son + 5m* + Wood

    b) Salah + Solanke + Garnacho + Sangare**

    * can be anyone of, Amad/Rogers/Bobb but will be played first GW and Nkunku benched

** WIll play 3-4-3 every GW so Sangare will just be on the bench, Nkunku starts in this.

Is it a wise strategy going for ESR and Minteh as your 7th and 8th attacker? I am planning to play both and bench Nkunku for GW1

Not sure about wise, but could be a good punt if either returns.

    Flekken
    Saliba Munoz Mykolenko
    Salah Gordon Eze ESR
    Haaland Isak Solanke

    4.0, Winks, Barco, HB

    Thoughts?
    Cheers.

What are thoughts on Odegaard. Set pieces and great for goals and assists. I don't see him on any teams? Is the price to high or do people not want any arsenal because of fixtures?

Excellent pick, only reason I don’t have him is because I have Saka

no set-pieces anymore if rice still has them. would put him in if he had them. still a solid pick and will have his purple patches where he'll be more popular. would also help if Arsenal got Merino done so odegaard could play abit more advanced

He really returns in those off weeks when gw scores are low. Felt he didn’t get many returns until the tail end of last season.

Havertz, although playing in midfield with Ode, seems more attacking in pre season

      I’m the same with Hwang…

12 goals 3 assists in just over 2000 mins last season.

Nailed on, can score against anyone and on penalties.

Had him in most of my early drafts but have wimped out and gone Nkunku.

I will probably bring him in when his fixtures swing.

Possibly, but remember that none of the promoted teams defend particularly well. Brighton are at least experienced in the premier league. You could look at Harwood-Bellis as he has a few decent fixtures and he sometimes gets attacking returns.
