    Henderson 4.0
    TAA Robinson Munoz barco Johnson

    Jota saka Gordon nkunku sangare

    Haaland isak solanke

    Pretty template i know
    My doubts are
Solanke+ Robinson (Robinson playing every week from next)
    Or
    Muniz + saliba

I'm looking at Watkins from GW3/4

Also thought of doing Gordon to Murphy but having Murphy jota solanke in the same side feels a bit too punty

Is there too much budget in the defence here? Can downgraded Munoz and/or Porro to upgrade Rogers (to ESR) or Pedro (to Wood) ....

    Flekken
    Munoz / Saliba / Porro
    Salah / Minteh / Jota / Gordon
    Isak / Haaland / Pedro

    Valdimarsson / Rogers / Barco / Faes

@mods, are we getting an update on the Set piece takers before the deadline? 🙂 Would be very grateful.

As it stands MGW is the only triple threat.

What really is the upside of owning Barco when you have three good starting defenders? Probably won't play him until GW 4 and by that time Estupinan should be back. At 22% ownership I'd expect his price to drop earlier then to raise, especially if Barco blanks by GW1 or 2.. Have him in my drafts for weeks, but now I'm thinking that three good starters with a 4.5 back-up and a low owned 4M defender is the way to go. What are your opinions?

If you’re on an early WC there is no point getting him, he could be out of the team & 3.8 by GW4, all it takes is for him to be hooked for Estu around 60 mins & he’s a dead pick.

    2. GreennRed
      • 14 Years
      1 year, 3 months ago

Spot on. Maybe Johnson or Faes? Barco's an enabler. He might play for Brighton, not known for keeping many cleansheets under the last coach. And he mightn't.

      1. mwa1t
        • 4 Years
        1 year, 3 months ago

For a 4.0 defender Faes is perfect. All you want is for them to play

A season of 1&2 pointers with the odd minus score is better than a season of 0s and price drops. Risking Barco for the possibility of a few returns early on is valid but it's just too unlikely to happen imo

        2. GreennRed

    3. mwa1t
      • 4 Years

Had him in for a while but I agree. With the Estupinan news it looks like a bad pick. He's more likely to drop in price than actually play in anyone's team

    4. krawiecus
      • 4 Years

Also he is not just some eternal backup player. Young talent signed to compete, if he plays well, he can keep Estupiñán out for a good few weeks. Especially since Estupiñán had a pretty severe injury.

I genuinely think Havertz is a better option than Solanke for just 0.5 more. You get a piece of that Arsenal attack, he had a great preseason, he played as good as Saka last year in the second half, and is 2m cheaper. It's not much of a gamble, he will play. Worst case scenario he drops in midfield a bit but he will most likely start as Striker

To be fair the Tottenham attack is pretty tasty too - it's the defence where Arsenal are streets ahead.

Arsenal scored 91 goals last season, Spurs were in the 70s, Arsenal picks are better at both ends of the pitch.

If Havertz had a whole season with confidence as the 9, he wouldn’t be 8m now.

    2. _Freddo
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

He got 2 assists from midfield v Leverkuesen, him playing in MF is not an issue, he played there when he had no confidence, if he played there now he’d get numbers.

He played there in the game against Villa before the run in last season and had a couple of good chances to score.

He'll be playing in the Premier League season though. Not saying either is a good or bad pick but would see how they're going in three months with Euro games too, rather than put much faith in preseason form against teams of varying stages of conditioning.

Why? Saving WC isn’t as important as you can mini-WC multiple times a season now.

I think it gives a lot more scope to keep most chips until 2025 and could be good for negotiating blank and double gameweeks.

These are usually in the second half of the season and you’ll have another WC chip then.
