I would choose based on fixtures. Mykolenko rotates with Robinson, Andersen rotates with Konsa, Hall could rotate with a Forest defender (Aina? ). The first pair is my favourite.

Kulu you would think. Had a brilliant pre-season.

But Spurs now have six attackers for three spaces (assuming Madders starts), so minutes will be shared. Particularly as Ange likes a high-energy press.

    3. Skalla

There is a chance both start if Kulu plays through the middle instead of Madds but most likely Kulu moves wide and Johnson bench

Anyone understand the Calafiori situation enough? I prefer Gabriel over Saliba but is Calafiori more a threath for LB and only a cover for LCB?

    1. Paul Psychic Octopus
      • 14 Years

It's a strange one, but so are many PL transfers.

As White can cover CB, plus Kiwior, I would have thought LB would be the priority position to fix. Make or break for Timber this season.

      1. BobbyDoesNotLook

I was last year in the gw1 Gabriel train that was a trainwreck ( 😀 ). I wouldn't want to end up with Gab again benched in early weeks but I like his xG stats and also on eye test his xG is much higher than Saliba's.

        1. Andy_Social
          • 13 Years

I expect him to be eased in at LB, replacing Zinky. That would give Arteta 4 centre backs.

Lol how is this a make or break season for Timber? He was injured all of last season and is still a new signing.

        1. Paul Psychic Octopus
          • 14 Years
          1 year, 3 months ago

Given his injury record 'break' might be more likely.

I mean that if he is injured again for most of the season, Arteta will have to look at buying another LB as I don't think Zinchenko is good enough or a natural LB.

    2. The Mentaculus
      • 4 Years

Think he will take over at LB in a few weeks. Picked him in draft last night

    3. Skalla
      • 9 Years
      1 year, 3 months ago

Calafiori is a LCB that can cover LB , so mainly bought to make sure they don't need Saliba and Gabriel to play every minute again this season and then will play LB against the stronger teams to boost defense but think Zinchenko/Timber get plenty of minutes vs the bottom half of the league

For me, it' hard to see past the West Ham keeper combo who racked up 140 points between them last season. With the cautious Lopetegui now at the helm, I can only visualise that tally improving

    1. Paul Psychic Octopus
      • 14 Years

It's tempting. I can't ever remember going 9.5m for a pair of keepers from the same team. Currently on 2x 4.5s, but the rotation combos are a bit tricky.

The only downside to that combo is that they should be much stronger and you might want to use 2 more attackers for they good fixtures between Kudus/Bowen/Fullkrug

Also going no Haaland/Salah but won't and try and cover that with a transfer to Foden , Son is still a great option in GW2 , maybe just start with Foden instead of Palmer then and upgrade Winks to 5.5m you can start GW1

Went for all but Saka. I think Havertz is grossly overlooked. Jesus don’t have the legs for 90 mins so even if Havertz starts in MF, he will move CF and be among the attack. At £2m less than Saka, he offers amazing value, quite like Solanke in that attack-only Ange’s Spurs.

Gusto should be fine especially for their run from GW2 but would try and find a way to bench him GW1 unless you are going no City and all in on Chelsea then might aswell start Nkunku and Palmer too and hope for a miracle
