Probably not but it's too close for comfort, especially at this stage of the season when there have been so few price changes to test the thresholds

I'm not gonna enjoy this season being talked down from making transfers. I feel like people are gonna advocate for rolling FTs almost every time even while there's an upgrade available 'just in case'.

I wonder if there's an edge there to be gained over the overly patient/cautious managers.

Moves like Son > Foden or Gordon > Eze are almost universally being advised as mistakes because of the value of rolling transfers. But I see both moves as being potentially big swings and generally high upside moves.

Will be interesting to see how many content creators make a transfer this week.

I'm trying to play on the front foot. I think we have a lot more information than we did preseason and there's a benefit to taking stock and reallocating accordingly.

"Can someone talk me off Gordon > Eze?" 8 hours ago, now followed by
"I'm not gonna enjoy this season being talked down from making transfers."
Just do your own thing man, jeez. Take a player out and put a player in, it's not hard.

There is no point hanging onto losing positions particularly when your base case was garbage from the outset (Nkunku is so obviously in this category and it's painful to watch justification otherwise (don't own), Son didn't look great last night (don't own), but I'm sticking with Gordon given the red card). Obvs people making internet videos about their transfers are incentivised to suggest one thing and do another.

Why was Nkunku garbage from the outset? Seems like total hindsight. He's a genuinely quality player. He was hooked against the best team the league has probably ever seen. Could brace next week just as easily as blank again.

Okay - which of the points do you not agree with?

                  - Extremely injury prone (61 games missed in the last 2 seasons)
                  Fact.

                  - Rotation risk
Fact - didn't even last an hour last game. Does anyone know if he'll even start the next?

                  - Playing position is unsure
Fact - shoved out wide to make way for a £100m flop in the hole. Maresca would rather play someone out of position than play Nkunku in his favoured one? Not a great sign, is it?

                  - Reputation based on a league where Jadon Sancho almost had a 20:20 season
Fact, though I will concede h had a good Champions League group stage 3 years ago.

                  - Playing for an absolute circus of a club, addicted to buying players
Such a fact, and very funny that Chelsea have signed someone who makes him even more of rotation risk since I made the OP.

                  - Championship-level manager
                  Fact.

                  - 1 non-penalty goal in 6 preseason games (versus a League 1 side)
                  Fact.

                  - Man City in GW1
Well, we saw how that went.

Cant judge anything in 58 mins vs like toon lurk said vs best team in English history. He is anyways just 6.5. same price like mitoma or b silva or rice.. of these options nkunku seems clearly the best option with good fixtures coming. If he keeps blanking well we can sell him.

This City side is not the best team in English history, it's not even the best City squad that Pep has had. Chelsea are beyond a mess right now - Nkunku might not even have a parking space this week, never mind a place in the lineup.

Hardly hindsight when I don't own him. He's completely unproven in the PL and Chelsea have a new manager (previously at Lei) with an absurdly large squad. Sorry if you think that's a good spot. Best of luck next GW.

There is definitely something in this. To me, it appears very common to see "roll transfer" as advice given to others and yet everyone is obviously considering transfers at the same time. Perhaps there's been a culture of wanting to appear cool with making transfers (particularly early in the season) but the fact is we're playing a game with limited involvement. Making a transfer is playing the game.

Your examples both seem sideways to me, Foden might even not start still. Seems to be more the case that having two transfers after GW2 is advantageous for the info we're still gathering, and fixture swings, rather than having anything to do with the five transfers.

Your point might be more relevant for GW3 when people aren't impelled to make a transfer and now get to factor in saving three transfers for the intl break.

Obviously, it's all team dependent though.

Fanteam.ive always been cautious and I do well
FPL.i will always think the opposite and tfr away

This year trying to be different

So this year's it's simply give Son another shot at home to Everton and resist the Foden tfr

Thinking about it makes sense tbh. Son at home to a weakened Everton defence and a chance Foden starts on bench getting 20mins whilst he's back to full fitness

We all.know I'm going to be wrong haha

Upon seeing KDB complete GW1 after getting 5 minutes in the Community Shield, I wouldn't be surprised to see both Foden (45 mins GW1) and even Walker (bench GW1) complete GW2

They were on break, not injured. Pep considers 5 minutes in Community Shield as enough match sharpness to start KDB over McAtee

              Didn't say they were injured

Wouldn't surprise me to see Foden start but I don't want to tfr him in when he could still be bench and son is at home to Everton

Just saying I'm keeping Son for gw2 at home to Everton instead of rushing a tfr like I usually do

Collecting free transfers just to be able to play this ‘mini wildcard’ we keep hearing about is going to be the tiresome narrative you will most likely hear. It ignores the benefit of moving early on certain assets as soon as you are able and not once you can brag about having 5FT’s first.

It's also not easy to do. It requires restraint that many do not have. I can see benefits team dependant but I also agree there are other ways to play but I see it as a welcome addition that creates variability. I will hold this week. Can't see further than that

This rolling of transfers option will at least add some jeopardy which helps the competition.

I will try to but can barely remember a time in the last few seasons where I had to burn one yet alone roll past 2.

I think the only time that helps anyone is the carry through on wildcard.

It could hurt those that are patient, it could also help with a couple of ‘mini wildcards’

It’s a great move from FF to creat deviation from the ‘template’

Salah increasing in price makes no sense.
        1) If you're WC why are you doing this what on earth has happened in one gameweek for you to completely change your mind?
        2) You would need to take a hit to fit him in. That hit probably involves a premium and they all have a good fixture anyway what's the point?

I guess only casuals are causing the price rise

How long has Mazraoui been listed in FPL ?

Fantasy Football Fix still has his price as locked, but he has been steadily rising to a price change since last Friday according to FPL Statistics who stated on their site that

'Any new players added to the fantasy league will not immediately increase (or decrease) in price. A player must have been in the league for over eight days before transfers count towards the threshold value.'

I don't think he's even been in the PL 8 days let alone FPL. So I think his price should be locked either way and definitely not have been heading towards a price rise since last Friday night.

I am on Lavia but it is true he is not 100% nailed. That said, I do think he has played well both in pre-season and in the first match against City. Just depends if they want to keep playing 3 similar players in midfield again and if not, which one makes way. If he keeps his place I think he could be great value for 4.5m. A calculated risk, granted.

I am 50-50 about whether to sell for Quansah for:
        1) Konsa or Pau (great fixtures from next week); or
        2) Downgrade him to a 4m and then use the 0.5m to upgrade Hwang next week to Eze

        Any advice?

If it's to 4.0 will you be in a sticky position if Porro doesn't play? That upgrade sounds pretty good.

Other upgrade I am thinking of is two 4ms and then Solanke to Havertz - Arsenal are going to have another great season and he has taken up where he left off.

            I don't have Porro (sadly).

        Best option regarding Quansah

        A.) Quansah > Robinson
        B.) Quansah > Lewis
C.) Quansah > 4.0m (Greaves / Mosquera) and use the 0.5m to upgrade elsewhere eg. Porro > Gvardiol in GW3
D.) Save FT and start Harwood-Bellis (Nfo H)

Depends on other defenders but B as short term punt, A longer term, Gvardiol played as part of back 3 at the weekend deminising his appeal.

I wouldnt bother. Robinson is a good pick for the season. He feels underpriced for his assist potential.

Essentially my issue - do I really want two 4m defenders and Lavia on my bench...... Havertz is looking like he is taking off from where he left off last season though. For a -4 it would give me:

                Pope / 4m
                Saliba, Robinson, Myolenko (Barco, Mosquera)
                Salah, Jota, Hwang, ESR, (Lavia)
                Haaland, Isak, Havertz

Just seems so early to be taking hits though.

Plus a bit knee jerky to get rid of Solanke after 1 game (although to bring in a great performing, in form player for an in form team)

That Spurs v Everton will be an interesting match. I expect Dyche to try and not get involved in a game of football. If a game of football breaks out Spurs win easy.

The next question is will Spurs have a reaction Solanke to finally click. If Spurs don't start well their home crowd could turn on them.

Will Spurs presist with the patient play?

(Porro - Mykolenko - Robinson - Hall) - Quansah for:

        b. Konsa

        d. Taylor Harwood-Bellis

I have the same defence except have THB in place of Mykolenko.

I'm assuming you want to make the transfer mostly to not lose .1 because you've got enough playing defenders even though Porro could be out. THB would obviously give you an extra .5 to use elsewhere so I think that would be my suggestion.

For what it's worth I'm looking at Pau. Would bench him this week but after fixtures are good.

I'd still take other suggestions under advisement.

Thanks for response! Also prefer picking some nailed 4.0 cause it was 5th def for me anyway. I'll find how to spend this 0.5 later

Villa defs are quiet unpredictable for me, even Mings is somewhere near to return. Not sure who is really nailed and don't want to spend another FT on this position

So I'm looking at Dunk and THB for now

bit concerned as an owner as well. got Son + Palmer at the expense of Salah

way i see it he got loads of attacking returns in poor Chelsea team last season so wasn't too concerned about that.

Being shoved out to the right to accommodate Nkunku/Felix in central areas will be detrimental long-term, but did find it encouraging he was the only attacker left on to play 90 with little pre-season, the new manager knows his quality (and coached him at City before which can only be a positive).

He doesn't have to replicate what he did last season to be worth 10.5mil (over 8 points per start) as well, so patience might be the play. Im hoping he gets a 60 minutes on Thursday where he looks sharp and worthy of the premium price this FPL season.

1-2. Villa's strength in depth looks very good on the basis of the West-Ham game, can't see them not scoring. Not convinced a Onana-Tielemans midfield is on the same level as Luiz-Kamara so can see Arsenal bagging a few at the other end.

Seen someone in a mini league on 120+ points after a bench boost.

Has inspired me to consider left field thinking.

Lucky enough to be on 83 but don’t own Haaland, any Man City, don’t own Porro.

Would a free hit be really mental?

Not sure I have a sofa big enough for haaland but I like my team… would allow me to bring in 3 city (Gvardiol, Haaland, Foden) Son, Porro and Maddison and keep 3 Liverpool. Mad shout?

If you hit the near perfect eleven for the GW with a FH it would not be mental.
Depends how much you rate your FPL picking nous.
Given that you scored 83 gw1 with no BB, you must have a fair idea what you are doing.

Overkill on Spuds and I dont think you need 3 City imo.

If you think you can outscore or work around any upcoming blank weeks then I say go for it. Solve this week's problem and hope it doesn't inpact future GW's too much.

Based on these scoring rules (Sleeper App), who scores more over the next 3-5 GW:
Goals, Assists, Shots on Target, Key Passes, Tackles Won, Interceptions, Aerials won, Accurate Crosses.

        1. Casemiro
        2. Joelinton
        3. Tielemans

Ipswich loaning Broja with a £30m obligation if they stay up - clearly don't back themselves to.

don't think there's been many strikers worse at Fulham for while than Broja. Is he even better than Delap (who had a few nice touches and something about him at the weekend). and the ex-Blackburn striker they just got in.

wonder how much of his wages they're actually paying. and on a separate note, might not overestimate that Liverpool second half performance, Ipswich genuinely just stopped trying and looked dreadful.

I don't know how anybody rates him, I can't remember him ever being good?

The deal must be massively caveated, surely. Load of add-ons and stipulations regarding starts or goals, I would have thought. If he does nothing all season and they stay up anyway, I doubt they'll be wanting to fork out.

Which one to Start this GW:

        A) Smith-Rowe
        B) J Murphy

        Rest of the mids/fwds are:

        Son - Jota - Eze - A or B
        Solanke - Haaland - Isak

Hope Porro is fit otherwise I’ll likely drop the 1st hit

        Bruno porro > eze trent

Much rather stand strong and see the raft of other players that perform GW2

Bruno should've had at least 1. Those transfers do look reasonable however if you expect Porro is out (couldn't find any update having searched).

        Hi guys

Who do you think will score more this season ?
        1) Wood (NFO)
        2) Evanilson (BOU)

Wood is rotation risk with Awoniyi also available but Evanilson could be most probably nailed as forward

        Thanks

Wood as the other guy has to get used to a new club and country which a lot of times don't go as planned.

Quansah looks to be dropping tonight & Porro unknown, which of these do you prefer?

        A, Lewis

        B, Mosquera

        C, Pau, Konsa

D, Mazraoui - will he keep his place when Dalot, Shaw & Martinez are all fit?

        E, ???

        Henderson
        Gaby, Porro, Robinson
        Saka, ESR, Gordon, Jota
        C Haaland, Solanke, Isak

        4m Rogers, Hall, Quansah

I'm not the most knowledgeable with regards to football but I'm leading my mini league. My dilemma is do I Triple Cap Haaland this week? My main contender does not have Haaland. I didn't think Ipswich looked that bad to be fair.
