So I'm wondering if my strategy is the best way to go
Currently trying to get 4 or 5 free transfers to mini wildcard
Which means holding my nerve during price rises/bandwagons

    Team is

    Pickford
    TAA Porro Anderson
    Saka ESR Rogers Jota
    Haaland Isak Wood

    Virginia Greaves Taylor Gordon

Currently 1ft with 1mil itb currently 153 points so not too bad

My opinion is that if you make no transfers for 5 weeks then you will most likely need those transfers as your team will need changes.

If you make changes as you go then in 5 weeks your team won’t need WC.

Lose Pickford or Isak to Havertz?

      1. fantasyfog
        • 11 Years
        2 years, 1 day ago

Yeah Pickford is going, Isak is definitely a makeweight for moves elsewhere, as seriously considering Saka→Palmer as others are, ideally would like both!!

With that strategy, you'll loose price rises/bandwagons and get price falls. Probably also loose points by not getting players who are returning.

        2 years, 1 day ago

Yeah I'm thinking you guys are right, trouble is what's good for this week changes next week, you know how it is, think I'll hold out for two transfers next week, then Saka →Palmer and Isak →Pedro/Welbeck

Crystal Palace and Wolfsburg have agreed on deal for Maxence Lacroix as club to club is all done.

Wolves have agreed deal to sign Sam Johnstone as new goalkeeper with medical tests set to take place.
He wanted to leave Palace and deal has been sealed today.

1 FT and 1.5 ITB. Have a lot of problems (Barco, Nkunku, Quansah, Bruno etc) and might need to WC over the international break. What would you do here?

    A) Nkunku to Madueke for free
    B) Nkunku and Bruno to Smith-Rowe and Palmer (C) -4
    C) Captain Haaland, save FT this week and hope Nkunku plays

    Chiesa to Liverpool confirmed, then.

Definitely makes Jota / Diaz less appealing as now those two plus Chiesa, Nunez, Gakpo fighting for two spots surely?

      Diaz v Gakpo

Gave in and hit the wildcard button like the weak willed fool I am. Currently looks like the below - any advice appreciated?

    GK - Flekken
    DF - Munoz, Konsa, Livramento
MD - Saka, Smith-Rowe, Salah, Mbuemo, Palmer
    FW - Watkins, Isak

Bench - Henderson, Porro, Harwood-Bellis, Jebbison

The bench is really weak I know but maximises playing value and reduces team selection dilemma each week. I'm unsure about starting Munoz v Chel or Porro vs Newcastle in particular. Also trying to get something I can live with for the next 4+ weeks

      Nice,

I would maybe downgrade Porro to 4.5 and upgrade Flekken to Raya as set and forget season keeper. Maybe downgrade Munoz too to another 4.5 and upgrade HB to another 4.5. Basically a whole backline of rotating 4.5s?

I've activated the wildcard and currently on this...
    Raya
    Gvardiol Mazraoui Robinson
    Saka Semenyo D.Jota Palmer
    J.Pedro Haaland Isak
    Begovic Rogers Vestergaard Mosquera

Other option is playing a 5 in midfield with Son by doing this. Gvardiol, Semenyo, Isak > Porro/Akanji, Son, Jebbison.

Thoughts on this? Any other ideas welcome

Ooh, those fixtures do look peachy of mbuemo.

I was determined to roll my transfer and have 3FTs next week, but nkunku > mbuemo does actually look very progressive. I have already missed the price drop and have solanke, zinchenko, foden and anderson. If it gets close to the deadline and looks like either solanke or foden won't be playing then I kind of HAVE to make this move!

What am I missing in my WC?

    Areola/Turner
    Robinson/Saliba/Porro/FaesJohnson
    Saka/Gordon/Palmer/Rogers/Jota
    Muniz/Halaand/J Pedro
    0.4 itb

    a) upgrade Robinson to a 5.0? (Who)
    b) Muniz to Matheus Cunha?
    c) downgrade Gordon to funding upgrade JPedro or Robinson?

Hmmm… haven’t thought about that. Thanks for that. I’m usually not keen on having a GK above 4.5 but it might work depending on which replacement for Saliba I could get

    2. tets mcgee (Ha La Land)
      • 11 Years
      2 years, 1 day ago

if you are going to take Areola then u should definitely take Fabianski as his back up. As a fan - you wont need the westham spots
for a wc id say you are missing salah and taa. id want minimum taa if ur not having salah.
Robinson and pedro are fine. they are not the ones to upgrade.
Faes is likely not gonna play for Leic much more he has asked to leave. get the villa wing back at 4.0 whilst cash is out.

      1. Gowiththeflow
        • 8 Years
        2 years, 1 day ago

Valuable insights especially the Faes one. Thank you.

I have tried to fit Salah and Haaland but can’t deal with a so imbalanced team. But maybe TAA or Robinson can somehow cover it.

My point is that, for some reason, both (Salah and Haaland) starts to underperform (as much unlikely as it is), I would need a new WC to fix the team…

My defence is a mess. Need to start one from:
    A) Hall
    B) Johnson
    C) Quansah
Ideally would like to sell Quansah before another drop but nothing itb. Is Nedeljkovic an option or is that just creating another problem?

Most likely will WC by Gw6 or 7 so don't need Nedeljkovic beyond then

yeah im in a similar position and have to make a defensive move to sort my defence out for a week or maybe two before i WC

i really like nedeljkovic option but i need to know he starts GW3 100% and i dont think we will get that info.

Nedeljkovic will likely start RB until Cash is back assuming they don't sign a new RB before the window closes (before deadline)

He could but unlikely based on the info below

Unai Emery says Ezri Konsa "is comfortable" playing at centre-back and now prefers playing either Matty Cash or Kosta Nedeljkovic "playing in their position" due to changes in the build-up structure this season.

Wildcard team good to go with .9 itb for Isak to Watkins and a little bit of buffer?

    Raya | Valdimarsson
    Trent | Gvardiol | Robinson | Davis | Faes
    Salah | Palmer | Saka | Smith-Rowe | Rogers
    Isak | Wissa | Pedro

I would rather start with Watkins than book the transfer

I was thinking this, but even if I do end up getting him in I’ll wait until after the price drop. Was also thinking of getting Steele as my second keeper to cover GW4 and 5 for Arsenal, good idea or waste of funds?

It will be tight for Watkins to drop before the deadline.

Verbruggen started the cup game last night so not clear if Steele will keep #1

Nkunku, Quansah and Barco wasn’t great choices so now losing value and have players not playing

    Henderson
    Gabriel, Robinson, Mykolenko
    Salah, Jota, ESR, Rogers
    Haaland, Isak, Muniz

    Bentley, Nkunku, Quansah, Barco

    1 FT 1.5 ITB

    A) Nkunku + Isak > Palmer + J.Pedro (-4)
    B) Quansah + Nkunku > TAA + Winks (-4)
    C) Quansah + Nkunku > Robertson/Gvardiol + Miteh (-4)
    D) Quansah + Mykolenko + Nkunku > TAA + Nedeljkovic + Minteh (-8)
    E) Open to other suggestions
