I don't know what people think about Arsenal corners.

The combination Saka & Gabriel works really well. But it is not just about the individual class of both players.

The way other Arsenal players "block" the goalkeeper from getting near the ball is the interesting part. I'm surprised that they get away with this as this is often happening in the 6-yard box.

But I guess it is still legal as there are no obvious fouls. Also, my feeling is that other clubs in Europe started this and I'm not even sure if Arsenal have the copyright.

I wouldn't be surprised if other clubs will follow. Liverpool already appointed a set-pieces coordinator which might indicate that they arecaware of the potential.

The lessons learned could be to stop overlooking the tall centre backs like Gabriel, VVD, Konsa, etc. I mean, we all usually go for the full backs and their potential for assists. But given the rotation risk, I might start changing my "tactics".

Would be interesting to see what other "managers" think.

Really interesting take. Gabriel and Arsenal seemed to have mastered it, and both VVD and Konate scored headed goals from corners in their last CL game. Certainly makes them more enticing propects.

Very interesting. But I would like to add that some full backs also play very attacking in midfield. TAA, Pedro Porro and Lewis to name a few. There is also goal potential. The rotation risk I agree on. Maybe a combination of 2 CB's and 3 FB's is the right call?

TAA is on set-pieces anyway and I think he is as good as Saka. Maybe no need to get VVD instead but again less rotation risk.

Gabriel is just a special case. His xG was insane even last season. I remember looking at the stats preseason to decide between him and Saliba and it blew my mind how much more threat he had. 3x as many shots, highest xG for a defender.

Arsenal's corners are all aiming directly at him and the stats so far... he has the most shots of any player within the 6-yard box this season - defender or not.

He's basically essential imo if he has this much threat.

Yeah, Gabriel's corner attempts are like penalties. But he needs Saka and the blockers as well. It's hard team work.

My impression is though, that other teams across Europe have started copying this. It's almost like they found a loophole to make corners more dangerous as goalkeepers can't defend it with so much traffic in the 6-yard box.

I will monitor it to see if there is a trend.

liverpool did bag 2 vs Milan from set-piece headers in the six yard box. the new set-piece coach might be paying dividends already

So, Aït-Nouri fell to 4.4 last night and that is my budget for my final defensive pick on WC. Is he worth bringing in to rotate with the likes of Greaves and VDB in the third slot?

Thoughts on Mavididi? Leicester have a good run coming up and he looks to be good value for goal involvements per 90. Or is he a bit of a minutes risk?

I'd sooner take Rogers. If you already have Rogers and this is in addition, then it's a worthy punt. I'd still rather scrape the funds and upgrade to ESR

Current Wildcard, What are people's thoughts?

    Sanchez
    Gabriel, Saliba, Dalot,
    Saka, Foden, Diaz, Mbeumo, Rogers
    Haaland, Jackson

Fabianski, Faes, Van de Berg, Stewart.

    Could be Wood/Palmer over Foden/Jackson.

I was typing Jackson is a rogue choice based on 1 haul, but then actually fact-checked myself and see that he is not a TERRIBLE choice. 2,10,6,1,16 points.

      Still, don't fancy Solanke instead?

I don't fancy anything Spurs related currently. I think my only decision is the Palmer/Wood or Evanilson vs Jackson/Foden.

Jackson is getting the minutes currently and has been delivering but overall we know Palmer is better

If Rodri indeed has ruptured his ACL as speculated, that can only mean more overall playing time for Lewis. Worth the gamble as your 5th defender IMO.

I don't entirely agree unfortunately. Gundogan returning to City has made things murky. They could play Gundo, Kovacic as the pivots.

A lineup like this wouldn't surprise me at all.

      Walker Akanji Dias Gvardiol
      Gundo Rodri
      Bernardo Foden/KdB Grealish
      Haaland

Unsure whether to WC6. Have no banked transfers. Red arrows after a poor week.

Wil be keeping Raya, Saka, Mbeumo, Watkins, Haaland and possibly even Pau

But will allow me to easily solve the Jota issue.

What are people's thoughts on using WC to freshen up but retain the spine of your team?

If you're an engaged manager that plans ahead, you should have a decent spine to your team so the wildcard not changing 15/15 is completely fine.

I could see some WCs for just 6 players being worth it if your bench is already good enough to keep as is.

Really like this WC draft I'm on atm.

Am 0.1 short but a drop of Gvardiol or one rise from Diaz, DCL or Jackson should get me this, hopefully 3 of the 4 will happen and I can get Pinnock instead of Mykolenko.

    Raya Fab
    TAA Gabriel Gvardiol Mykolenko Greaves
    Saka Mbeumo Eze Semenyo Rogers
    Haaland Solanke Wood

This is probably rubbish but all I could think of here is:
      Salah/TAA/Pedro > Haaland/Konate/Winks

it costs you a bit in midfield but saves your front line

    A bittt complicated here
    Appreciate your cooments guys
    Need some help here

Thinking about bringing foden after newcastle game (if he starts)

    Current team for next gw:

    Sanchez
    TAA Cucurella Konsa
    Diaz Mbeumo Eze Rogers
    Haaland Watkins Solanke

    4.0 *Jota* VdV VdB
    2 FT 0.9 itb

I should sell eze and jota to bring in foden in near future
My first thought is to bring mcneil and foden. Then I have 8 attackers but they fit to each others tough games really well.
My question is, would you bring mcneil or just a 4.5 mid?
By getting mcneil I can cover rogers tough run around gw 10-14 too.
But that spreads the money in my team and a bit of benching headache sometimesss
Also note that if I pick a 4.5 mid I can upgrade cucu to gvardiol after those moves
But with mcneil I just can strech to Ruben dias

Thanks for you time and suggestions in advance.
