    Best defender for 4.7mil?
On my radar are Colwill, Aina, Mazraoui, Robinson.

I kind of like the Lewis - Mazraoui home/away rotation.
It’s just the rotation risk that hangs over both picks that worries me somewhat!

With Trent and Gab I have 3 other defenders to fill one spot. I'm not too worried about taking a gamble and potential benchings. Worst comes to worst, Faes steps in.

After the Rodri injury, im starting to come round to the idea of Rico Lewis.
But for safety, I’d probably go Aina

How does the Rodri injury affect Lewis’s chances of starting?

        1. thegaffer82

Lewis could slot into midfield as he did earlier in the season in Rodri’s absence.
Obviously, if Rodri is fit, this isn’t even an option for Lewis

I'm not sure Rodris absence was the reason Lewis was playing that role. But I do think he will get plenty of game time. If it all goes wrong I can wait until the time is right to switch him.

Currently have 3FT, WC yay or nay?

    Raya Bentley
    Porro Konsa Robinson Quansah Johnson
    Palmer Saka Jota MGW Rogers
    Haaland Isak Jebbison

0itb. Could probably take a -4 and solve most issues or use WC now and hold the FTs

Still holding Quansah I see. That guy has robbed you blind!
I’d Wildcard that team and be happy you can carry your 3FT’s beyond wildcard

I think it's strong move to WC if you've rolled up a few FTs and see several changes you could make.

If you've been spending your FTs you're hopefully on the path to making those transfers pay off.

Kind of loving this latest draft, but I know that it could easily go tits up with so many risky picks.
But there is a universe where all the upside risks come in, and this team absolutely kills it over the coming weeks…
    But is it *this* universe?

    Raya - 4.0
    TAA - Gab - Maz - Lewis - Greaves
    Saka - Mbuemo - Diaz - ESR/Semenyo - Rogers
    Haaland - Jackson - DCL
    0.0 ITB

Any good? Or too many risks?

    1. Fellaini's Fro

Got all the WC6 players so probably not that risky

1 or 2 of Lewis/Mazraoui/Diaz/Jackson is probably not all that risky. But all 4 could culminate in things going South in the coming weeks

        1. Fellaini's Fro
          • 12 Years
          1 year, 6 months ago

Those were the risks as well I thought

IMO Lewis starts over walker in the easier fixtures GW7-10
Jackson not sure if he can keep it up but doesn't have much competition for places
Diaz is probably a rotation risk but seems like a bandwagon at the moment so probably not that exposed. Maybe a nice double rise to cash in on. There are "safer" picks at cheaper, Bowen, even both ESR/Semenyo look reliable starters.
          Maz - if you're a Utd fan I'd say well reasonable as a 4th.

Fair assessments of each I’d say.

I have the same team except Faes rather than Greaves.
      I'm undecided on Maz, ESR/Semenyo and DCL/Wood.
Thinking maybe Semenyo for a couple of weeks then switch back to ESR.
I don't really see this as a particularly risky draft.

Jackson is an easy switch to Solanke if he doesn't keep scoring.

      2. thegaffer82
        • 14 Years

I’ve played this game enough to know that things can change quickly. A poor performance from Diaz or Jackson could easily see Gakpo or Nkunku thrown in. Then if they then score, the status quo is thrown upside down.
Lewis is a major risk I’d say - but the upside is great.
For what it’s worth I think Shaw coming back is a ways off, but if/when he does, it’s gonna be squeaky bum time there too if we own Maz.
I think I’m gonna go with this anyway. FPL should be fun, and Maz - Lewis is way more fun than something like Dunk - Aina or Konsa - Pinnock right?!

          Yep agreed.
          You considered Wood over DCL?

          1. thegaffer82
            • 14 Years
            1 year, 6 months ago

I actually don’t have a penny over with this draft, so I couldn’t actually afford it.
I’m satisfied with Evertons fixtures for ages too, so I’m not that motivated to try and find the extra 0.2 to get Wood either.
As for Semenyo v ESR you mentioned - I looked at the planner and it causes me to many benching headaches to go with Semenyo and he doesn’t cover Rogers/DCL when I’d want him to. So I’m going with ESR I think (who I have £££ tied up in)

I think ESR is probably the better long term pick to be fair. I'm still tempted to try Semenyo just for the next two. The risk will be that ESR rises again I guess.

    Best option for this WC?

    Raya Fab
    TAA Gabriel *** (VDB, Greaves)
    Saka Diaz Semenyo Rogers Mbeumo
    Haaland *** ***

A.) Watkins, DCL, Faes (Forced to start a 4.0m Defender each week)
B.) Watkins, Stewart, any 5.7m Defender
C.) Wood, DCL, Gvardiol (with 1.2m ITB)
D.) Jackson, DCL, any 5.6m Defender

Struggling to fit Watkins in without either losing third striker spot, or weakening a starting defender.

Option C gives me the best depth, has 1.2m ITB which could come in handy and even allows City coverage. But despite Wood's and DCL's great fixtures can they match the explosiveness of Watkins?

    Flekken* Fabianski
    TAA Gabriel Colwill Greaves* Faes*

Got 4 free xfers which means I can cover the main WC6 drafts but feels like I'm blowing them all where a WC now would keep them. Not sure the WC will be as much value later on?

People are swinging to Arsenal and Chelsea assets, and no one will drop Haaland. Surely Salah will outscore Diaz in the long term, but for now he is proving to be a good asset for 5M less. Looks way more central in the ends of attacks, and improved his finishing from last season.

You switch your Palmer/Saka/Son + Diaz for the best 5.5M of the moment and Salah... Since you can save up to 5 transfers, its much easier this year.

If you have Salah + Haaland + Any other +9M mid, you cant have gabriel and trent, gotta make a decision.

    Not a rip on Arsenal
    On corners
When they cover in the box they wrap up way past what the rules allow.
When they attack in the box they block off way past what the rules allow.

Understand it is up to other team to defeat what the opponent is doing.
What if any changes are coming?

Is D. Rice still on some Corner Kicks and Free Kicks, especially with Odegaard’s absence?

Yeah he usually takes them on the left side

Not convinced he’s as clinical as the Star Boy though.
I’m weighing the possibility of bringing him in as my only Arsenal attacker. Can’t bring myself to swap King Salah for Star Boy Saka.

Get Trossard if you're strapped for cash imo

Keep the “Shoot-at-Sight” Semenyo against leaky Southampton.

So with Rodri out for the season and Walker having a poor game, that will make Lewis almost nailed right?
