Ahead of ‘mini’ Double Gameweek 12 in Fantasy EFL, expert FPL Reactions shares his picks for the week in his team reveal.

Fantasy EFL: Our experts rate your Double Gameweek 11 teams

STARTING SEVEN

GOALKEEPER

I originally selected Stevenage’s Murphy Mahoney (G), but losing key defender Carl Piergianni (D) due to suspension puts me off investing in the Boro defence. Instead I have opted for Fleetwood’s David Harrington (G), who I’m hoping can add to his clean sheet tally of four.

DEFENDERS

Lincoln could be another great team to invest in this week. Two home fixtures makes me a lot more confident in their defence, even with their recent struggles. As well as potential clean sheets and additional points via defensive actions, Paudie O’Connor (D) also carries attacking threat, producing two goals (+14) and two assists (+6) already this season. Joining him and completing my two-man defence is Ethan Pye (D). Stockport County have mixed fixtures this week which could work in his favour in terms of generating additional points for tackles and clearances. He has also managed a goal and an assist (+10) this campaign, so could have multiple routes to points.

MIDFIELDERS

Four wins in their last five league matches and scoring 2+ goals in all but one suggests buying into the Reading frontline could be essential this week, especially if you’re seeking out Double Gameweek players. Contributing to their recent form is Lewis Wing (M), who has banked four goal contributions in his last four league games. The lack of midfield options has forced me into selecting a player with a safe floor. Lincoln play two matches at home which adds more appeal, but the fact Ethan Erhahon (M) consistently picks up additional points for interceptions and key passes makes me think he could be a solid option.

FORWARDS

Stockport County go into their Double Gameweek in good scoring form. They also come up against two sides who have conceded a combined six goals in their last two matches. The Hatters attack has plenty of potential and Louie Barry (F) stands out. The Aston Villa loanee may not be the most explosive player in the game, but seven goals (+30) in 11 matches suggests he could be one of the most consistent attackers ahead of Double Gameweek 12. I have decided to go a little bit punty with my second forward selection. In the four matches prior to their previous three games, Fleetwood hit at least two goals in all of them. I think they can recapture that form against a Newport side who have conceded the second-most goals in League Two and an inconsistent Salford outfit. Striker Ronan Coughlan (F) could therefore have a successful week.

CAPTAINCY

It may well go down to the wire this week, with both Wing and Barry competing for the armband. Ultimately, I would like to go a little bit different from the crowd, so Barry could be a better pick in that case.

CLUB PICKS

Based on Fleetwood’s attacking potential, I have decided to opt for them this week. If we see the same goalscoring form from them as in previous rounds, they could be a high ceiling selection. The other team I have decided to back is Reading. Ruben Selles’ side have won four of their last five games, making them one of the most in-form teams going into the double. They were a must-select this week.
