Pedro could be a huge disappointment. He's not nailed for 90 mins, plays at no. 10 rather than upfront, and is a potential rotation risk because he's not long back from injury.

The hype is insane because yeah the upside is there. Penalty taking Brighton forward at 5.5m.

But if he gets benched in the next game or the following weekend - which looks possible, even likely in the case of the Sunday match from Thursday turnaround - suddenly he's a big liability going into the Christmas period and people will already be looking to sell.

    1. Waylander

Ok calm down as none of that has happened yet. Easy hold for 5.5m on pens with great fixture run.

I'm not salty. Of course it's annoying when your choice doesn't work out but I'd make the same choice again with the same form, data and fixtures in front of me. Unlike you I hope others do well and try to offer what I think is good advice.
You say rightly so but all the data said the opposite - 2 double digit scores in a row, at home with the highest team expected goals of the week (2.45) with the highest single goal scorer odds of the week (49%) vs the leagues worst defence for expected goals conceded and the week's lowest chance of a clean sheet (9%). The only thing you have to refute this is hindsight.
I would be ashamed if I came on here reveling in others choices going poorly.

Glass half empty saying means taking the negatives out of something and ignoring the positives. Pessimistic. A pessimist says the glass is half empty but an optimist says that it is half full

I am not sure many want a glass with any urine in it ?

In the context of my comment and the common usage of the phrase, it renders the existential view of a glass half empty/full of urine a bit of an irrelevance

I’m happy with him. As I mentioned in a previous post, he’ll either blank or haul generally and I don’t mind if he doesn’t start a few games. He’s been clinical off the bench, so all good for that price as a rotation with Semenyo for 8th attacker.

Given past seasons, I’m more than happy to have as my third striker someone who is still relatively cheap and will score points. Who else would you have at that price or lower? Got Cunha, don’t see Raul, Vardy and Delap as better options.

Hall was the bandwagon that made me laugh last week. Suddenly every pundit and YouTuber has him in their list/podcast/article. The echo chamber has never been so... echoey.

The great thing is if youre brave enough to plug your ears to it you can make some gains. I'm still amazed I could only find 2 'experts' who have never had Haaland.

      1. The Bandit
        • 15 Years

The echo chamber bandwagons we get from sites like these is my point. All the 'experts', YouTubers, pundits and article writers end up with the same team recommending the same players. Why?

The Haaland example is a great one - the only way to play this season was to spend 15% of your budget on him then form a team around him. There was no other way.

This was the plan after my GW12 WC. Still a good plan? It'll create benching headaches but I don't think I can have a non-playing bench spot anymore.

Why is everyone so opinionated about Pedro? He’s a 5.7m forward ffs, coming off the back of a couple of double digit hauls in an attacking team that have a great set of fixtures incoming. It’s not like he’s the main man in your team and you’re relying on a haul every week is it?

If the issue is with “content creators” and “pundits” then that doesnt just relate to just Pedro. They’re all sheep spouting the same stuff (Most of which is obvious). People should make their own decisions with their team and transfers and Captain choices based on your own logic/eye test/stats/research etc. These content creator numpties are ruining the game imo. Shouldn’t give them the air time.

Exactly. I don't understand people that come on and laugh when some people's picks do badly. We make the choices we think will do well and sometimes they do, sometimes they don't that's FPL.

When a player you don’t have does heigh-ho, of course, I would be glad about it because it gives us non owners an advantage.

The main question should be, why are all these sad Pedro owners trying to play the victim here as if they won’t celebrate if they happened to be non owners.

Nothing bizarre about it. Only petty pedro owners get offended by it. It is called schadenfreude in german, don’t know if there is an english word for it.

    Who to bench?

    1. Pedro v FUL (A)
    2. Rogers v BRE (H)
    3. Solanke v BOU (A)

Wait and see what Rogers minutes are like tomorrow if he plays a lot he might be due a rest or early sub. It's a tough choice as Pedro is on pens and the other 2 aren't. Solanke and Pedro both away vs Rogers at home. There's arguments to be made for each.

    2. Boberella
      • 9 Years

Tough one. I’d normally say Rogers, purely because he’s the cheapest and probably your 8th attacker, but given he has the home fixture, I’d edge towards Solanke instead.
See what happens in the rest of the games as that may make your decision clearer.

Not really! Could’ve / should’ve Haaland (0.2 profit) + Johnson (0.1m profit) before the Liverpool v Southampton game. Think that was a -0.3m profit swing.

Have profit remaining in Gvardiol, Lewis, Jackson, Digne, Bruno, Palmer, Pedro and Cunha - but perilous with the City boys

I don't think I've seen his name mentioned in weeks, properly went off the radar. I was really bullish on them at the start of the season and tripled up on them, but fallen off a cliff from last season

Well, he's been injured for the last 3 weeks or so, meaning even the most loyal followers abandoned the ship. But I think Palace will depend on Eze's heroics to avoid relegation, so I would still count on him to do well.

Sold him for Saka last night with 0.0 ITB. I bought Mbeumo late at 7.5m so it didn’t feel such a final decision to part ways.

If you bought close to 7m then maybe you keep as he’s perfect over the Xmas period.

Konsa and Lewis have good fixtures, I would play them rather than waste a transfer on defence. Robinson is playable, too, in case of emergency.
Wood to Cunha makes sense, though I think he's close to the point of being overvalued. I paid 6.5 for him, 7.1 feels quite a bit.
