I was ready to post this in the previous article before seeing this...

Looking at Liverpools fixtures around the double, I think it should be fairly ok to predict some of the starters based on the info we currently have on the team.

Alisson, VVD, TAA, Konate, Salah and Gakpo should be fine imo.

Diaz and Jota is difficult to predict and would wait until DGW24 if looking to pick one of them.

29/01: PSV (A) - potentially rotated team if Liverpool get minimum 1 point from Lille
    01/02: Bournemouth (A)
    06/02: Spurs (H) EFL Cup
    08/02: Plymouth (A) FA Cup
    12/02: Everton (A)
    16/02: Wolves (H)
    23/02: Man City (A)

Attackers aside, from my perspective, the biggest question would be, is TAA worth the funds? Alternatively, is it worth bringing Konate or VVD?

In isolation, I think he is worth it.

When considering funds and overall team, I think you need to consider combinations with non Liverpool players to help with the assessment

As things stand, I agree. I'll pick up a defender(2nd Pool) next GW and an attacker in GW24.

PRoblem with TAA apart from price is that he might be transferred to Real 3 days after the GW24 deadline.

    Re: Gabriel Assist:

    The Rule:
    "Own Goals
If a player shoots or passes the ball and directly forces an opposing player to put the ball in their own net, then an assist is awarded. If the pass or cross takes a significant deflection off an opposition player prior to their teammate scoring an own goal, then no Fantasy assist is awarded."

The only question that needs to be answered is was Dragusin touch "a significant deflection". I don't think it was.

Controversial I know but I dont think Gabriel touched it at all and it came in from Dragusin's head before the deflection for the OG hence no assist.

The manager doesn't take up a space in your squad - you still have 15 players, with the manager in addition to that. The only way it affects your players is that the manager counts towards your allocation of 3 per club - so if you already have 3 LIV players you can't buy Slot

Would you kindly be able to clarify the following for me?

If I had Diaz as a third Liverpool asset but wanted to play the AM chip for GW24, I would need to rid of Diaz using one (free) transfer to someone from another team, activate the AM chip and buy Slot as an additional transfer (for -4) in the same week?

Or would the activation of the chip and purchase of Slot still be free, in the same week as changing Diaz for free?

I understand changing Slot for the 2nd or 3rd week of the chip would cost me a free transfer or -4 points but I'm not clear if the initial acquisition of Slot is given as a free, if you've already used your free transfer?

          I hope that makes sense?

Activating AM chip and selecting a manager does not impact FTs. Changing managers will require FTs. You cannot select Slot until a 3rd Liverpool spot is open

Gakpo has the worst minutes but plays for the best attack and has a DGW ahead.
Wood plays for the worst attack but is their main man and takes penalties.
Wissa keeps up despite being the cheapest.

    Anyone on AM in 24?

Salah + TAA + Slot and Slot to Arteta in 26. Sounds very decent imho and don't think you will gain much more in doubles in 33 or 36. Then you can play TC on someone with better fixtures later. The main drawback, imho, is that those fixtures in the double are not easy for LFC, especially Bournemouth away.

        I’m going Salah (C), Alisson & Slot

Also - If Liverpool (Slot) don’t bag the points in 24 then it is highly unlikely that Salah (TC), Gakpo buyers, Diaz holders and Konate punters will hurt you.

Nah, all about the bonus for me. Need at least 2 bonus eligible games when I'll use it.

There'll be loads of takers for Slot 24 but I prefer to chase the bonus - or, if not, I'd want games that look like a 4-0 or more hammering for the favourites, which I just don't see happening at Everton or Bournemouth away

      1. Salarrivederci
        • 9 Years
        1 year, 1 month ago

I get that, bur so many managers will dedicate 27-28mil on 3 players.
Salah, Alisson and Slot is mere 20.
Also small wins would probably result in Slot outscoring Salah TC, Gakpo, VVD, TAA, Diaz and so on.

        1. The Mentaculus
          • 4 Years

I see quite a few justifying this based on the fact that they've used their TC already & just want to keep pace with Salah TCers - not sure this is great logic tbh. Should be looking at it primarily in relation to other AM opportunities, no?

          1. Salarrivederci
            • 9 Years
            1 year, 1 month ago

            Hmm.
I've only used BB. I have the TC for later.
I think there is a few thing to consider and weigh up regarding this.

First and foremost I agree that those DGW games does not look like 4-0 wins.
Let's toy with the idea (for arguments sake), that Liverpool win 1-0 in both and Salah scores both goals and gets 3 Bonus.

Salah will return 44 for captainers and 66 for TC'ers.
            Slot will return 18 points.
No matter if you have TC or AM-chip you will have one of TAA, VVD, Alisson. Let's just say they even themselves out.
Let's also assume that TC'ers have gone for Gakpo or Diaz as the third. And that they bag one assist for one out of Salah goals. Both end up on 9 points total.

So going with AM-chip against TC Salah in this case will set you 13 points behind. Just for the record this example is made to try to argue against AM-chip. I think Slot (AM-chip) losing 13 points in DGW24 is unrealistic. Under 10 points difference would be my guess.

            BUT:
            1) Your third Liverpool pick (Slot using AM-chip) disapears after GW26. This makes it much easier to deadend into BGW29 should Liverpool move through.
            2) You'd have somewhere between 6-7 mil more in your starting lineup in DGW24. those mil could easily make up the small expected difference if Salah scores in both matches.
            3) If we both share the opinion, that this is not highscoring games with plenty of goals for Liverpool is this really the best time to TC? Much talk of trying to find the best 3 GW stretch to punt on managers with table bonus. How about potentiel DGW fixtures for the likes of Isak, Salah or someone else? Salah to have Leicester and Villa in DGW33? i'd rather TC that tbh.

            1. Captain Mal
              • 1 Year

I'm not sure TC vs AM is the right comparison. The key question for me (I have all the chips available) is if AM in 24 is better than AM in 36. I don't think it is.

              1. Gommy
                • 15 Years
                1 year, 1 month ago

I agree that that is the key question but its all still very situational per team.

I've used my TC successfully earlier in the season with Haaland and see the AM chip as somewhat of a hinderance that I do not want impacting those last few weeks of the season.

From 32 and beyond, I plan to use a my FH, whilst also maximising a BB with a WC at some point before it.

I don't see a 3 week break between those chips, nor do I want the AM chip hanging over me and scuppering that.

I therefore see GW24 as a hopefully good opportunity, as much as people predict that it wont be optimal. Nobody can actually predict that.

Hmm some interesting points; tbh I haven't really been thinking about it terms of value either since the manager price differences are miniscule.

At the moment I'm actually leaning towards no chip in 24; agree with you about TC33

Maybe. I always try to use the GK spot in DGW’s, which helps with the associated blanks after DGW’s. Not looked at using the AM chip in the same way yet but might be useful.

After a shocking gameweek that has seen me drop about 100k places (albeit because of captaining Salah). I was going to semi-rage transfer Gabriel and Raya out after the game last night but decided to sleep on it. I have been saving up free transfers with the idea of selling Raya but now think maybe Gabriel can go too. I would bring in Konate for Gomez, who is still on my bench, Sels for Raya and perhaps Mykolenko for the double or another 4.5m or cheaper defender with good fixtures. This would give me the money to do Rogers to Gordon giving me the following attack:

    Salah, Palmer, Bruno, Gordon, Mbeumo
    Wissa, Cunha, Isak

The problem I have is I keep wondering if Arsenal’s defence will have better luck when their fixtures turn in a couple of GWs and then I wonder if people will be trying to transfer back in the same assets that they rage transferred out. What do you think?

I would keep Gabriel. Their defence has been fine, I'd expect them to get as many clean sheets as any other team if not more. And the attacking threat is there as well. Konate should be good for the DGW, but I'd wait to make sure he is fully fit before making the move. Mykolenko only if they don't buy a full back, else I would be looking at Pickford. Gordon is hot right now, just keep in mind he will probably blank in GW29, so it's an extra transfer down the line.

Thanks for this. Yeah I was looking at Everton and Mykolenko has no competition for his place at the moment, which explains how he keeps starting. If I don’t sell Gabriel I can’t bring in Gordon anyway so I suppose it’s a Gabriel and Rogers vs Gordon and Konate question.

I guess it depends on your style and how many free transfers you have. If you have saved some and are willing to get aggressive, I guess you could go for Gordon plus Konate. Both plans make sense.

I'd hold fire on plans to bring Konate in for the double. Came off early vs NFO, has admitted hes not 100% fit still. Suspicion is he'll have to miss more than the Plymouth game in that double, can't see him managing even 3 games in that spell. Its whether Bournemouth or Spurs is the priority given the way the games fall.

I assume that was a reply error to me? Thanks (if it was) for the reply. Gomez is injured so I don’t know who would replace him for the double anyway. Konate would be the last I bring in anyway so as you say it will give me time to assess his minutes

Cheers! Missed that somehow. Lewis to Konate was my planned transfer for GW23.

Maybe factor in game state into the early sub as well, 1-0 down and chasing the game

      I'll be getting Konate.

Was his sub v Forest tactical, as they were chasing the game? Hopefully.

So then he plays Ipswich 25/01, Bournemouth 01/02 (7 days after), Spurs 06/02 (5 days after), Everton 12/02 (6 days after).

They're all almost a week apart.

Its the Spurs after the Bournemouth gap that would concern me most. He'll get the Plymouth rest you'd imagine before Everton. Can he do 2 games with a 5 day gap? Not sure.

Yeah 5 days is light work. It's the same as someone playing Monday night football and then again on Saturday, which lots of teams do.

Don't see why not, he was starting UCL and league games B2B with shorter turnaround earlier in the season

The fact that he's made of glass is enough reason to put anyone off. 58 starts in 3.5 seasons is an abysmal record.

I am gone at last. Its been a blast. bad captaincy call this week the obvious difference. Bad outcome, bad process/decision making.

No mention of Everton assets for DGW24 in the article. Is one defensive player enough (thinking Pickford, or Mykolenko), or is there a mid or forward worth a punt ? I don't see an obvious choice.

I'm pretty sure the article answers questions asked in a hot topic. Maybe no one asked about Everton.

I'm not even sure a defensive one is worth it. Hard to imagine them cleaning vs Liverpool and there's literally no attacking threat because they can't score goals anywhere in the team. Does the single vs Leicester justify any investment?

Salah hasn't scored from open play in over 300 minutes. Not sure I can give the armband to someone in that kind of form.
    Captain?

Jackson is missing chances left, right and centre. Don't think I'd be putting it on either of them TBH. Surely there are better options available?

I'm bored and it was a joke. No way in hell I'd captain one of those. They were pretty shite recently.
        Thanks for your honesty though!

Close Sarr or MGW, as you have Wood. Forest not that attacking

Posted under an old article.. Really looking for a good strategy for DGW 24 and chip strategy ahead. Only TC played. Team looks like this:

    Raya (Vald)
Hall - Gabriel - Lewis (Mykolenko, Colwill)
Salah- Palmer - Bruno - Enzo (Rogers)
    Wood - Isak - Mateta

1FT, 3.0 itb. Thinking of Raya, Enzo, Mateta --> Pickford, Mbeumo, Gakpo in the next three weeks. Any advice?

Isak or Salah for me, currently on Salah. Palmer is good ofc but the other two are so close to the goal and get many chances every game.

Is wood more vital to get than bruno? Thinking a)pedro to wood or b)Johnson to bruno?

Isak is threatening Vardy's record of scoring in 11 consecutive PL games.
Isak is on 8 currently with Bournemouth, Southampton and Fulham coming up next.
