I know this is not the right article but I just wanted to express my joy to have Marmoush on the bench who comes in instead of Amad.

17 points that fall from the sky and that make me go up in the ranking. I am a happy FPL manager.

    Good week to all

He should have been in the team way before the injury crisis. Every game he played he looked class. Its that very English thing of he's young therfore not ready. In Germany.or Spain he'd be a starter.

    Running through gw29

    Rogers & Ndiaye -> Dango & Cunha (-4).

How does that look? I could just keep Rogers for this week and not take a hit but don't want to miss the Dango home fixture

Pity Slot didn't give a proper update on Gapko before Wolves game. Down 13 points as a result and possibly more if Pool beat Villa.

I'm 50+ points down from doing Wood -> Gakpo early in the lead up to Gw 24 before doubles were announced. Blocked myself out of Slot and lost Wood's points

(Also had treble Everton so couldn't put AM on Moyes either 😆

Slot has limited AM ceiling and Moyes AM switched to emery which isn't going that well. You at least kept Ur AM for potentially bigger ceiling. Don't know if u TC Salah but if u did U have probably come out better

        1. Viper

          I did TC Salah yes.

The problem is I still have every other chip so it's actually going to be difficult to navigate AM now with Wildcard & bench boost aswell

GW 32 is good news for AM tho. Back to back dgws. I've looked the the fixtures and 31 looks by far the best for table bonus all season

Only downside is BB in 36 if that's the smaller dgw

Glad I opted out of Wood to Gakpo before GW23 it initially looked like a disaster when Gakpo started with a 16 pointer but Wood has now scored 28 points to Gakpo's 23 points in the last 3 GW plus I've saved 2Fts and It would have been for a hit for me as well. There is hope of your fortunes turning as well, sounds you are not really 50+ downs as you still have the AM chip to cut into that deficit.

I’m no fan of Darwin Nunez, but I’ve been thinking, if you had an option of going with…

    A) Nunez
    Or
    B) Hojlund & Zirkzee

…up front, which option would have the most impact? I feel even Nunez on his own would contribute more than Hojlund and Zirkzee together.

Nunez has shown he can create chances by himself, he's just a wild finisher and has quite poor decision-making.

Hojlund has the worst positioning I've ever seen from a striker and the touch of a trampoline. Why we keep treating him like a target man when every long ball is just an automatic turnover, I'll never know.

Zirkzee is actually brilliant on the ball, as we saw on Sunday, he's just so unbelievably slow. He looks like when you see ex-professionals playing at Soccer Aid or something.

I’ve just done my transfers early. I missed the deadline last week - which turned out well for me so far) and I’m out out this Friday so thought I’d better be safe.

I did Gakpo to Cunha. Considered Marmoush and may well bring him in soon. Wolves fixtures are looking good though.

Also brought in Mbuemo for Gordon.

Villa defence is awful but the high line was more a feature of last season than this one. I think we looked better for it, I'm not quite sure what our approach to defending is supposed to be this season. Injuries have contributed for sure, but 3 clean sheets in 25 games is so bad...

      So yeah - Diaz.

Villa and Liverpool have definitely had the highest defensive lines of the teams I’ve watched this year.

Liverpool have been unimpressive in their last two games. It will be an interesting game.

Madness to do Salah to Foden as a one week punt in gw29? Then wc gw30 to get Salah back. A lot of value on Salah would be lost

For me this would be help me to avoid taking hits and having 11 players for gw29. I am essentially just losing 0.3 more team value because the other option is to get rid of Hall

It was more for you to consider this before selling Salah.

Also if you're planning to AM or BB post 30, you'll need funds there as well

    3. The Mentaculus
      • 4 Years
      1 year, 3 months ago

Depends on Salah PP, but personally I don't think it's worth losing 0.6m for a one week punt, if e.g. you could get Savinho instead of Foden without losing so much TV

      1. Jullepuu
        • 6 Years
        1 year, 3 months ago

Unfortunately it doesn't work like that for my team. Either I loose 0.6 (or more) with Salah or 0.3 (or more/less) with Hall. One of them has to go so I can field 11 players in gw29 and I want both of them back in gw30. Having Foden in gw29 seems more beneficial than having lets say Gabriel for 28 and 29

Wish I had AM slot. Would've been on that if not for Gakpo.

Same mate. As someone (correctly) said above, we knew Gakpo was a doubt but I (1) thought he could be fit for Villa, (2) didn't want to be kicking myself if he played and did well, (3) wanted the potential table bonus from Emery. (1) and (2) are obviously in the mud and (3) is looking hopeless after the Ipswich outcome! Oh well, knew the risks, and I just have to live with the result! On to the next.

I also kept him for the same reasons as 1 and 2 I thought he would
Maybe be on the bench for wolves and then play most of the villa game never anticipated he would just completely miss both games! Very annnoying but there was always that risk I guess in keeping him.

  11. Noé Pamarot
    • 7 Years

Argh knew it was a gamble holding on to Gakpo but based on Slot's comments, thought he would be ok for Villa. Huge 2 points off the bench and rivals with Slot advance. Only myself to blame really! Definitely getting rid now...thinking Cunha (form and plays 29 with a decent fixture). Anyone else the same?

Depends who makes the FA Cups semi but it's likely to include Gordon, Isak, Haaland, Aina, Wood, Rogers and 3 Bournemouth if their clubs make it that far, along with Salah, and Gabriel as SGWers. There won't be enough in the bank to keep Palmer, or Mbeumo and get that lot.

Good point mate. Tough decisions ahead. I would be analyzing marmoush till GW29 before punting on him. If he gets eye test validity against strong defense blocks as well, instead of haaland we could go for him and then enough money ITB for saka, palmer, mbeumo etc.

Pity you can't afford Mbeumo. Nailed and no issues beyond 30.

Both Nwaneri and Dango are fine picks up until 29. It gets a bit unclear post 30 when Saka and Evanilson are back.

Quite like Mitoma as a differential pick.

Cunha's next three opponents are good/okay defences atm, so I doubt we're missing braces and hat tricks there

Cunha's good at creating chances for himself out of nothing, of course. Not doubting his talent

Did Amad to Kluivert early with my 1FT. But who to bench now from front eight?
Mbeumo (lei), Salah (mci) Palmer (avl), Rogers (CHE) , Kluivert (WOL) - Wood (new), Isak (NFO), Watkins (CHE)

Arsenal sanctioned after sending off of "Lewis Myles-Skelly (MLS)"

I would let it go, but you did specifically say "MLS" 😀

As a Villa fan, I love it. Not a good time to put all your eggs in Unai’s basket, though.

I don’t think I would have the balls to bench Palmer, but I genuinely hope you succeed.

No, seriously, go with it. Your benching headache is even more of a luxury problem than mine, Palmer and Chelsea are not in the best of form (nor are Villa, though) and the upside is big if you nail it.

    1FT, 0.6 ITB, thoughts?

    Pickford - Valdimarsson
    TAA - Gabriel - Colwill - N. Williams - Bednarek
    Salah - Palmer - Mbuemo - Rogers - Dango
    Isak - Gakpo - Wood

A: Bednarek or Colwill ➡️ Huijsen or Zabarnyi and play one of Rogers or Gakpo
B: Rogers ➡️ Semenyo and play one of Colwill, N. Williams or Bednarek
C: Gakpo ➡️ Wissa, Cunha or Marmoush and play one of Colwill, N. Williams or Bednarek

      D) Play Struijk.
No, A with Huijsen for me.

Gakpo hasn't been ruled out of GW26, so we don't know yet. Slot said he's close, in the article above

I think Bednarek to Huijsen is a bigger priority that improves your squad. If Gakpo somehow still misses GW26, you'll have 7 attackers, while still having Gakpo vs Southampton before selling for the blank GW. I wouldn't want to play Bednarek or have him come off the bench at any point, so that's a massive upgrade to the Bournemouth BPS magnet

I feel so conflicted. Do I bench Palmer? It's either him or one of Wood/Mateta and I can't bring myself to bench either of them.

Villa away doesn’t scream haul from Palmer, I would just bench him if you really don’t want to pick between Wood and Mateta.

      Can't bench Palmer.

Villa are worse than Newcastle and Fulham defensively. Palmer is still decent

Anyone keeping hold of Gakpo until SOU? Tempted to get rid but have more pressing concerns in Amad and Emery

Gakpo potentially back in 26 whereas Amad has been ruled out for the season

I'd have sold if Slot was more pessimistic about his return date, but this solves my bench headache anyway. And that's assuming he misses City, which we just don't know yet

I'm targeting that Southampton game too, yeah. Then it's Cunha, Marmoush or Haaland (if selling Palmer)

I can bench this week no problem, also can do 1 price change without losing any value!
He will be gone soon though! depends on switching the AM!

    Martinelli, Gakpo to Dango, Cunha

Would you also do Sels to Flekken for free?
