FANTASY EFL CAPTAINCY POLL
| % of votes in poll | |
| Ethan Laird (D) – Birmingham City Alfie May (F) – Birmingham City | 16% |
| Michael Cheek (F) – Bromley Christoph Klarer (D) – Birmingham City James Bolton (D) – Fleetwood Town | 8% |
| 10 players | 4% |
CAPTAINCY POLL: LEADING ASSETS
Ethan Laird (D) has been backed by 17% and ties the poll. The Birmingham City full-back has had an exceptional season so far, holding fine form recently with an assist (+3) and clean sheet (+5) in each of his last two games. Currently in 4.2% of Fantasy squads, he’s averaging 5.3 points across his 23 appearances, largely achieved through his seven assists, nine clean sheets and one goal. The Blues face Reading (A) and Leyton Orient (H) this Gameweek, two solid opportunities for Laird to reward his backers.
Alfie May (F) continues to be a highly attractive option and he joins his team-mate on top of the poll. He also earned 17% of votes, a number expected for a highly prolific striker in a double Gameweek. The 31-year-old has had an astonishing season, scoring 10 times and notching seven assists across his 28 appearances. Given Jay Stansfield’s (F) injury, May is expected to lead the line for Chris Davies’ side.

GAMEWEEK 29 CAPTAINCY POLL: THE 8% CLUB
Elsewhere, Michael Cheek (F) is another great idea. He is one of League Two’s top scorers, managing 15 goals and two assists in 30 appearances. After six Fantasy points in his last game, the Bromley talisman now has a season-long total of 141. He faces Harrogate Town (H) and Bradford (H) in Gameweek 29 – two strong opportunities for more success. The Sulphurites, in particular, have conceded 42 times in 32 games, an unimpressive record that the 33-year-old can capitalise on.
Another Birmingham player, Christoph Klarer (D), is highly expected to do well this Gameweek, also being backed by 8% of respondents. He has managed eight or more Fantasy points in four of his last five games and has a 163 total to his name. Combining consistent defensive contributions with 12 clean sheets in 27 games, Klarer is a top pick in any Gameweek, let alone this attractive double.
