With the next Fantasy Premier League (FPL) deadline almost here, we’re hearing from our panel of guest writers.

Here, three-time top 500 finisher FPL General – sitting at 24k in the world this season – talks us through Gameweek 26 plus his plans for Gameweek 27 and beyond.

Gameweek 26 Review

The Assistant Manager chip being active for three Gameweeks resulted in three green arrows. Happy days! The troops are sitting at 24k overall with just 12 Gameweeks to go. According to Livefpl.net, that’s 22 points behind the top 10k. It’s time to chase them down!

Gambling on Oliver Glasner (£0.8m) paid off very nicely. Even the most boring FPL manager you will find couldn’t resist some table bonus chasing. I was very close to switching Arne Slot (£1.5m) to Mikel Arteta (£1.5m), which would’ve been disastrous. A minus four was taken to select the Crystal Palace manager and to get Justin Kluivert (£6.0m) in for Morgan Rogers (£5.6m). The red card in the Bournemouth game was annoying but thankfully Rogers blanked too.

The most tilting aspect of the Gameweek was checking the Newcastle score and finding out they’d scored four goals with no Anthony Gordon (£7.5m) involvement. He was a big differential but his time might be up now with Liverpool (away) next and no fixture in Gameweek 29.

It’s just one assist in the last five games now for Cole Palmer (£11.1m) but it doesn’t get any better fixture-wise than Southampton and Leicester City, both at Stamford Bridge, over the next two Gameweeks. He’s a strong captaincy candidate for midweek.

The one player I wish I owned, that I don’t, is Daniel Munoz (£4.9m). He is Fantasy gold, everything you want from a defender in FPL. A lack of free transfers has prevented me from getting back to him. I’m eyeing up the Ipswich fixture in Gameweek 28 as the next best entry point as I’ve got other plans this week…

  Yeah I am on FH29 but will have 2 Liverpool 2 Newcastle and 2 Palace.
  
  I don't want to get Eze or Henderson as it don't know whether to AM assist 31 to 33 or BB. And we don't know if Palace or Newcastle will DGW33 yet.
  
  WC 35 or 34 if I can't do it with FTs and bench a few big hitter and play AM 36 to 38 or BB then.
  
  There is no great BB this year unless everything goes to 33.
  
  But Newcastle play final GW29 ITB, and then play 6 fixtures (and Palace if they were to less likely) play 6 fixtures in 3 weeks as the GW30 is midweek games

Not a massive upside this week, but planning towards GW29 (looking to not FH).

Could just wait and do this transfer another week but Konsa likely to drop in price.

Feels wrong to have a 5.1 def on bench for next 2 weeks but I don't want to ditch Robinson as he plays in GW29.

Just listened to FPL wire pod and Lateriser doesn't like the AM chip as it is too punty.

Then they are talking about a 20 possible swing points wise so he is going for the Palmer punt .

Same thing isn't it?

For the record I haven't played it and it should be simplified (points wise), but it isn't a bad chip on its own. It was introduced at a manic time and late changes in fixture schedule , made things worse.

I like it as it upsets the template a little

  If things are too "punty" then get rid of all chips and captaincy (which has some merit but I would not be in favour of).

  Yeah. If there is too much luck in it. I haven't had Wood , no pun intended, all season. Is the bad luck or Wood just being great?. It is the latter. Doubling his goals for his expected goals is unusual. I almost had him GW1 but went Pedro.
  
  I just never went back. Wood hasn't been lucky. Nor was Glasner pick. Fulham had 0.23 xG and Fulham beat the better teams at home.
  
  Be interesting to see how Palace perform against the better sides. Y
  
  Drew away at Chelsea lost against Forest. Eze missed two sitters. Henderson did a Pope last weekend. Bournemouth 0-0. Beat Brighton. Arsenal Man City Newcastle is very different, Liverpool is last game of the season anyway lol.
