In his latest article, Pras – who has finished inside the top 40k of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) in each of the last seven seasons and now ranks 13th in our Live Hall of Fame – is using a Gameweek 30 Wildcard.

I won’t be in the minority that are holding their Wildcard for another week, as I’m now looking at a forward line featuring injured Norwegian and Kiwi assets. It has me wondering if activating the Wildcard now may work better, as it spreads funds and jumps in early on some of the teams doubling. After all, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Manchester City all have superb entry points.

FIXTURE ASSUMPTIONS

The catch, of course, is that even though we now know the four FA Cup semi-finalists, we’re not yet certain of where the rearranged fixtures will go.

For my Wildcard draft, I’ll use the below permutations prepared by Jonny Currie from Solio. This basically assumes that Man City, Palace, Aston Villa and Arsenal will double in Gameweek 33 and subsequently blank in Gameweek 34. Likewise, the two FA Cup finalists will double in Gameweek 36 and blank in Gameweek 37.

FPL expert Pras' Gameweek 30 Wildcard team 2

CHIP STRATEGY

Good luck, everyone. We discussed the above and a lot more on the latest episode of The FPL Wire, below.

I've gone with Digne. Only four defenders have more assists than him this season. Two of those are injured, and the other two don't have doubles. He also bagged two assists at the weekend in the FA Cup.

Whenever he's mentioned anywhere, a load of people jump on it and say the line "Digne is the ultimate FPL troll". I'm not sure where this started or who said it first, but I don't believe it's true. It's just something people believe because people say it. He's featured in all but one Premier League match this season. Sure, he's had a few 45 minutes here and there, but he's a cheap attacking defender in a strong team.

In reality, he'll be on your bench almost every week anyway.

        I owned him between GW4 and GW28 and he's a nightmare.

He got more 1 pointers than CSs and Assists combined.

He went on an 11 game run with no returns, which included 2 cameos from the bench (one in a CS v Saints), 4 other games where he only played 45 minutes, and 1 where we played 0 minutes, so i actually missed his Everton CS because i'd given up and benched him by then.

He only got one of his 3 CSs because he managed to get subbed before Villa conceded.

Honestly, you spend every Villa match dreading the line-up in fear Maatsen finally starts. He's a troll of the highest order.

Jus to clarify.. Besides the double fixtures, why is Savinho such a popular option in WC? Is it because of his record of 10 assists so far? Given a choice, would you prefer Bowen or Savinho?

    1. Biggsy

City have good fixtures and double. I like Bowen as an option, but you aren't starting him vs Liverpool when you probably have four doublers in attack. Maybe he is benched 31 as well which starts to make him an expensive 5th mid

I made the Marmoush move first with Håland out, on the off chance Nketiah gets a game in place of Mateta. Have now wildcarded to get both in.

My WC team as it stands is:

    Sarr - Palmer - Salah - Kluivert
    Isak - Marmoush - Mateta

I just don't see the appeal of Palmer or Foden so have some cash floating around.

Three mid spots alongside Salah and Saka on WC and £18.9m

    a. Gordon, Sarr and £5.8m (means benching Gordon and playing Saka who i'd possibly bench)
    b. Murphy, Eze and £7.2m (likely Savinho and save £1m)
    c. Murphy, Sarr and £8.2m (probbaly Bowen)
