On WC, would you rather Kerkez this week with 4 at the back or take the punt on Saka and go 3-4-3?

You should not be playing 4atb. Play Saka and if there's a leak he ain't starting use your 8th attacker.

Why though? Kerkez is almost a winger with clean sheet potential and a great fixture. There is a very slim chance that OP's 8th attacker has a higher points potential.

Hahaha I didn't actually bet anything - it's the other fella putting money down.

And tbf, I did say he'd only do it if he started most of the season up top (which he hasn't) - he was still managing a goal every other game before he got injured, even playing in midfield a lot, so it wasn't the craziest take in the world.

Ha. Yes I went 5p 5p on keeping Isak or Havertz after Isak got injured against Palace. Sold Isak Havertz returned then got injured then and the rest is history as I got priced out and went Jackson just in time for his dry patch ha

He's started 21 out of 29 games, of which he's played as a striker 19 times. In that time he's scored 9 goals.
So to say he hasn't played up top most of the season and that he's scored a goal every other game is pretty wide of the mark.
          .. not a great take.

          1. x.jim.x
            • 11 Years
            11 months, 3 days ago

The season is 38 games - he literally hasn't played up top for "most" of the season if he's only started 19 games (ignoring all the times subs pushed him back into midfield).

You could extrapolate 9 goals in 19 games as a striker to 18 goals in 38 games...

            1. Craigsimpson
              • 1 Year
              11 months, 2 days ago

He's literally played up top for most of the season to date.
No idea how often he's "pushed into midfield" but he always look to be playing striker whenever i've seen them.
You could extrapolate but that's not how it works.
Ultimately he's been pretty useless and a very big part of why arsenal haven't mounted a proper title defence this year.

A goal every other game is a great return for a forward over a season, dunno what you’re expecting

Yep it is, although nothing special for a side challenging for the title, especially when you are pretty much the team's focal point.
Regardless, 9 goals in 21 games isn't a goal every game, dunno what calculator you're using.

Depends on your other defenders. If you have lets say Gvardiol, Gabriel, Munoz and Livra, I wouldn't want to spend the extra money to get Milenkokvic. If you have a cheaper defence, go Milenkovic

Who would you select as a 2nd GK to Raya on WC? Currently on A as they have WHU at home in BGW34

    A. Verbruggen
    B. Sels
    C. Other?

    Raya (Verbruggen)
Kerkez - Munoz - Gvardiol (Trippier - Konate)
    Kluivert - Sala - Sarr - B.Fernandez (Bruno G.)
    Mateta - Marmoush - Isak

    1. mr_jones

B, but too expensive just for a backup. I'm on Areola, gives me the 0,3 instead of Verbruggen. Many CS both wont keep.

I'm on Sels just because he has potential with BB unlike Verb and Areola. Both are cheap etc. but not sure there's any value there.

Having said that BB is just one/two games for a GK so I'm 50/50

    Who reckons Saka starts tonight?

I've got Nwaneri and Nkunku so likely to take a hit for a better midfielder, with £7m itb...

    A) Murphy for the fixtures
    B) Sarr for the form
    C) Saka for the crack

    What do you reckon?

The popular choice here is to AM31-33, FH34, BB36.

    Wondering if BB33, FH34, AM35-37 could be better ?

    My reasons:
    - the gap between WC30 and BB33 is closer allowing you to have more doublers
    - No certainty about DGW36/37 yet, could turnout to be a small DGW for BB
    - can AM someone like Pep in 35-36 (wol sou)
    - Disadvantage is one less match compared to AM31-33.

    Thoughts ?

If you plan to AM 35-37 how sure are you there will be a double then?! The rest seems good and BB 33 has to be the way.

You’d assume Newcastle get 3 points away at Leicester in 31 which will help the cause and palace only have 2 games before 32.

I'm going Areola. Don't want too much money on the bench (even with no Haaland) and I'm currently backing him to outscore Martinez in 33. Then Raya will play every other week

      First game is table bonus
      2nd game Southampton

        Good shout on table bonus.

Points for wins across 30 - 32 including table bonus (not exact )
        Emery - 28
        - 30: - 6 (win), 0 (table bonus)
        - 31: 6 (win), 10 (table bonus)
        - 32: 6 (win), 0 (table bonus)

        Glasner - 54
        - 30: 6 (win), (0) table bonus
        - 31: 6 (win), (10) table bonus
        - 32: 6 (win), (10) table bonus
        - 32: 6 (win), (10) table bonus
        - 33: 6 (win), 10 (table bonus) - not confirmed
        - 33: 6 (win), 10 (table bonus) - not confirmed

        Howe - 24
        - 30: 6 (win), (0) table bonus
        - 31: 6 (win), (0) table bonus
        - 32: 6 (win), (0) table bonus
        - 32: 6 (win), (0) table bonus

Granted not all above will win all of the above but Glasner from GW31 onwards with a potential double, double could be gold.

On FPL? The GW rank certainly doesn't reflect hits, so my guess would be the average doesn't either. I suspect the average amount of hit points across all circa 10million teams is well under 1 anyway, so probably makes little difference.

Glasner if there is a bonus game. 11 goals all season conceded away from home. I think since early December

But the only teams we played away we drew nil nil away to Bournemouth when they were flying. Best Brighton 3 1 and drew away to Villa.

Palace are érd in the league since GW14 after our 2nd win of the season and only winning 3 games at home

Thoughts on Amorim for the assistant manager chip? 3 games now with teams 5+ places ahead, form slightly picked up...

Is Trippier worth the extra money over Livramento?

on standards and more attacking threat than livra. surely can get you more points, but the extra million keeps me away from doing the move.

I'd say do everything else u need to do if on Wildcard and if u have enough money then yes get Trippier (take into account how much money u need it if u need to get someone like Saka soon)

Asensio or Mitoma? Or do we have better options in that price range?

Anyone considering BB36? Or is it best to stick with BB33?

Think I don't like about BB33 is rotation for Palace Villa and perhaps man city before fa cup semi final . I prey we do the 6 games in 3 weeks before a cup semi. Not fair on villa but they will prioritise Europe

Difficult to commit to anything without knowing the fixtures. I'm just loading my team with players from teams that *should* double and see what happens.

I'm thinking the same. A few prime SGW with potential doublers too like Bou

A repeat of some of the hauls in the reverse fixtures in GW15 would not be fun for WC30!

    - Mbeumo G+A vs. Newcastle (13 points)
    - Bruno G vs. Forest (9 points)
    - Palmer 2G, 1A vs. Spurs (18 points)
    - Bowen G+A vs. Wolves (12 points)
    - Dango G+A vs. Ipswich (12 points)
    - MGW G+A vs. Man Utd (13 points)
    - Saliba G vs. Fulham (9 points, blank for Gabriel and Saka)

How much of a risk do we think Konsa is to start in GW 32 vs Southampton away given its sandwiched between their PSG games in the UCL?
