With the next Fantasy Premier League (FPL) deadline almost upon us, we’re hearing from our panel of guest writers. Here, three-time top 500 finisher FPL General talks through his Gameweek 33 team.

General Gameweek 33

The Bench Boost didn’t exactly go to plan but the Gameweek was a good one with a green arrow from 35k to 27k. The late charge towards the top 10k has commenced! 

Two free transfers were used to replace the injured duo Gabriel Magalhaes (£6.2m) and Justin Kluivert (£6.0m) with William Saliba (£6.5m) and Savinho (£6.2m) to patch up the Bench Boost. The Savinho decision wasn’t the best idea in hindsight and I’ve now got a headache with him going into Double Gameweek 33. Saliba was disappointing too but he was brought in more with the Arsenal double in mind. This will be his week! Daniel Munoz (£5.3m) somehow managing to score negative points in a Double Gameweek will go down in FPL folklore. 

At 27k, the troops are 28 points from the top 10k. With the Free Hit set for deployment in Gameweek 34, it’s certainly possible to get there. I’ll be very happy with another top 50k finish, however; anything more would be a bonus.

    Palmer and Mbeumo to Saka and KDB for a hit.

    Then WC next GW. Thoughts?

      Palmer to either Saka or KDB makes total sense but wouldn't ditch Bryan for a hit. Your WC would essentially be a more risky free hit, so assuming your FH has gone?

    Which would you recommend?

    A: Isak to Watkins
    B: Mateta to Wissa
    C: Murphy to Nwaneri

    BB now and FH34. Prefer B, but Mateta do have a double...

    Sold Sarr for Rogers. Palace look shot and have nothing to play for in the PL.

      We have a slight issue with Aaron Wan-Bissaka, just a toe that he’s had to have an injection on. We’ll see how he is on Friday, but he should be okay for the game. We’ll see.

    I could bench boost Kepa Pal (a), Wan Bissaka Sou (h), Livramento Villa (a) and bring in Bowen also.
    However with me planning to play the AM chip 35-37, I could play the BB in GW38 with Kepa Lei (H) , Wan Bissak IPS (a) and bring in Bournemouth players v Lei. Is this a viable alternative plan or is BB in 38 a nightmare with rotation?

    Got Timber, Foden issues, might play, might get cameos.

    A Timber & Foden to Saliba/Kwior & KDB

    B A + Sarr to Rashford/Rogers -4

    Not confident in Palace after 32 horror show

        Agree hes not in the best 11, arteta wont be playing his best 11 nxt two games. Can easily seem him playing one up top and one out wide whilst arteta manages minutes of first 11 ready for PSG

            Fair point ref the days between matches. I was thinking more the risk of injury. Would be better to ensure reduced minutes for the starting 11 to minimise injury chance? Im probably clutching at straws and merino is the best pick who plays 1×75 and 1x90

    Marmoush - Everton good defensively at home. Maybe gets rotated second game ahead of cup semi

    Saka - unlikely starts both games. Arsenal maybe tired post Europe against Ipswich like against Brentford last week

    Salah - 90 mins against a team who have conceded 3, 3, 4 in their last 3 home games
