WHAT IS FANTEAM EPL FANTASY?

Managers will be familiar with a rulebook which is more straightforward than the new-look Fantasy Premier League (FPL) format.

FanTeam is back for 2025/26 EPL Fantasy 1

Just like FPL, managers have a £100m budget to select 15 players (with no more than three per club), making weekly decisions based on captaincy and how to use their latest free transfer.

An extra transaction will cost you four points, but there are two available Wildcards – one for each half of the season.

No other chips exist in FanTeam. There aren’t any defensive contribution (DC) points either.

As for accumulating points, managers receive the same goals boost as in FPL – six for defenders, five for midfielders and four for forwards. Clean sheets bring in four points, while an assist gets three.

However, FanTeam is not completely identical:

  • Each goalkeeper save gains half a point
  • Shots on target are rewarded
  • Points occur if a player’s real-life team wins (+0.3) or loses (-0.3) while they’re on the pitch
  • There is a deduction if individuals concede a penalty or successful free-kick

To ensure fairness, no late entries will be allowed this time. Everyone starts on a level playing field from Gameweek 1.

SCOUT’S FIRST FANTEAM DRAFT

With no Gameweek 1 Bench Boost to contemplate, less squad depth is needed. Combine that with lower Mohamed Salah (£13.5m) and Erling Haaland (£13.0m) prices, and it feels like much better teams can be formed.

In fact, our initial attempt wants the luxury of both premium superstars.

FanTeam is back for 2025/26 EPL Fantasy 5

Bruno Fernandes (£8.5m) is also cheaper, making him extremely tempting, but even more so is Jarrod Bowen (£8.0m) remaining as a midfielder. Used up front by West Ham United in pre-season, his out-of-position potential is strong.

It’s a shame to see Cole Palmer (£11.0m), Ollie Watkins (£9.5m), Mohammed Kudus (£7.5m) and Morgan Rogers (£7.5m) be more expensive. The latter is able to find a way in, though, because Aston Villa’s early fixtures look so good.

Elsewhere, a bunch of £4.5m midfielders look interesting, like Enzo Le Fee. Sunderland’s playmaker can start on the opening weekend because Evanilson (£6.5m) has a tricky Anfield opener.

Pedro Neto (£7.0m) is a nice Palmer alternative, but Dominic Solanke‘s (£7.5m) pre-season minutes need observing.

A lot of highly-picked FPL defenders are cheaper here, due to the lack of DC points. But to have Everton trio James Tarkowski, Jarrad Branthwaite and Jake O’Brien all be just £4.5m is irresistible.

Yet there’s still time for twists and turns, allowing the likes of Watkins, Palmer, Chris Wood (£7.5m), Iliman Ndiaye (£6.5m), Kevin Schade (£6.0m) and Pedro Porro (£5.5m) to come under consideration.

Thanks mate! This is the team I have landed on, what do you think?

        Sanchez (Dubravka)

Aina, Van De Ven, Ait-Nouri (Rodon, Esteve)

        Salah, Palmer, Wirtz, Rogers, Reijnders

        Gyokeres, Bowen (Guiu).

Is Aina 5.5? Maybe Milenkovic would be a better pick, Reijenders may be a minutes risk, ait nouri and Haaland only safe picks

Aina is £5.0m, which allowed me to go to Bowen up top ahead of Wood/Joao Pedro. Was either Aina and Bowen, or Milenkovic and Wood/Pedro for me and thought Bowen might be the better pick? Reijnders definitely a bit jittery about, but he scored 10 goals in the league for AC Milan last year, so if he scores something in the region of that, he may well prove to be a bargain at £5.5m.

Factoid: Paul Revere actually said, “The Regulars are coming!” (he didn't say "British", because the people of the 13 Colonies still all considered themselves to be British at that time).

"This post has been filtered on request. To check your filter options please go to your profile"

And where, pray tell, are the filter options once I get there?

    And upon request of whom?

What a fkn mess this place is.

Apropos... the new Fixture Ticker is an abomination. I agree 100% with the option of making it easier to read for those that suffer from colour blindness, apart from that what drove you to change a feature that worked exactly as it should, was easy to navigate and had been functioning without complaint (as far as I could see) for years? So someone or somebody can trumpet a load of 'new and improved' haverings to justify his/her salary? It's pony, utter pony, utter, utter pony that nobody was asking for.

Are you employing the same consultants who did the new FPL site?

Appreciate you taking the time, Sheff Wed, thank you.

This gets wilder though, if I click on the link you posted it takes me to my profile page with a skip load of opt in/opt out choices. So far so good. If, however, I click on my avatar then 'my profile' the edit notifications option isn't there. If I try it from the edit options section it takes me back to the page that doesn't show an edit options choice.

I can't be arsed with the hassle, time to get out of Dodge methinks.

You used to get the basic one but not be able to sort by difficulty. I'm sure you can find a ticker if you have a good look around. I like to make my own and factor in my knowledge of rivalry, past performance, bogey teams, rest spacing, European involvement, historical data, early kick off or under the lights, fundamental player injuries and so on.

Think I'm set on BB GW2 (Thank you Burnley v Sunderland fixture).

I know the bench is weak, but I can survive a weeks until I WC. Therefore it comes down to the following:

    Sanchez (Dubravka)
    VVD Murillo Konsa (Reinildo Esteve)
    Salah Palmer Rogers XXX (Xhaka)
    J. Pedro Watkins XXX

    A) Anderson + Wood

Chilling on this for a while. Still considering the Haaland Salah Palmer triple up, but if Gyokeres looks good to go in GW1 then I think I'll stick. Kudus will probably become Igor Thiago in a 343 if Elliot signs for Spurs or Wissa leaves Brentford. Any thoughts appreciated

    Sels (Verbruggen)
Konsa De Coyper Romero Milenkovic (Diouf)

didnt like seeing him at striker vs everton, and then mount looked sharp. will avoid for now, but sure at some point in season him/mbeumo will be very good options

Was playing there because Højlund needed a rest, Cunha needed minutes and Zirkzee still not ready to play. He will play as 10 alongside, Amad/Mbuemo/Bruno.

I am thinking of an early BB, so what would you do with 12 mill for 1 mid and 1 forward in this team:

    Sanchez 4m
    VVD Williams Richards VdV Esteve
    Salah Palmer Rogers Sarr ???
    Watkins Wood ???

    A) Beto and Ndiaye/6.5
    B) Strand Larsen/7.5 and Anderson
    C) Other?

      Sarr is the Palace one

B should be 6.5... what a terrible post.

Are you BBing with a 4m keeper and a Burnley defender on the bench?

If so, I think it needs a re-think.

Martin Dúbravka might move to Burnley as a playing £4m goalkeeper.

Could work if targeting GW2 I suppose.

Still feels optimistic using BB with two 4.0m players.

In regards to your question, Strand-Larsen and Declan Rice could be a reasonable pairing with GW2 in mind.

I'm not sure why they call it the 'bus' team :/
It's the best team for the game week voted for by the FFS admins.

The team you would be stuck with if you went out and got hit by a bus.

It's just what you set up before you think about it properly, when you switch captains etc on a Tuesday morning for example after a Monday night game to conclude the game week points.

My thoughts are I don't trust pep roulette, not keen on solanke either, yet, other than that solid, how many game weeks have you planned for this squad?

He was at Leverkusen - 6/8 pen record but I highly doubt he will take pens after Salah's miss in a friendly.

    So this is my plan:

    Sanchez
    Cucurella. Aina. Diouf.
    Salah. Palmer. Wirtz. Reindeer.
    Watkins. Bowen. Fulkrug.

    Dubra. Xhaka. Konsa. Esteve.

    Ship Bowen for Gryro ASAP.

    Terrible idea?

    Big in midfield?

    Sanchez 4.0
    VvD Williams VdV Dorgu Rodon
    Salah Palmer Fernandes Wirtz Rogers
    Wood Beto Guiu

The midfield is crazy good but the attack is a bit suspect.

      It’s where the points are.

Could be mint if 5.5 FWD emerges.
