LEWIS SAID…

Goalkeepers

In goal, Ryan Allsop (G)Josh Griffiths (G), and Matt Macey (G) all have great home fixtures, and I expect the trio to keep shutouts.

Defenders

Jack Sanders (D) leads the scoring with 48 points in four; he’s too hard to ignore at present. Christoph Klarer (D) is the standout defensively for Birmingham, while Bobby Thomas (D) continues to shine for Coventry, amid transfer rumours.

Midfielders

Isaac Price (M) has two goals in three and a nice home match. Oliver Norwood (M) continues to be Stockport’s playmaker and is an all-round scorer. Idris El Mizouni (M), the interceptions magnet, is also in my thinking as a “safe pick”.

Forwards

Up top, I expect Jay Stansfield (F) to make it three in three for the Blues. Oliver McBurnie (F) is also in great form and has a good home match. Finally, Stephen Humphrys (F) continues to impress me at Bradford with four goal returns.

Gameweek 4 Scout Squad: Club picks

As for club picks, I’m planning to save Birmingham at present. WBA and Coventry City are my current standouts for convincing home wins, while Hull City and Stockport County also come into my thinking.

FPLREACTIONS SAID…

Goalkeepers

Stockport’s Corey Addai (G), Birmingham’s Ryan Allsop (G), and Colchester’s Matt Macey (G) could all keep a clean sheet this week. All three have decent fixtures, which made them easy additions.

Defenders

A home match for Fleetwood against newly promoted Oldham feels like a great game to invest in, and their standout is arguably James Bolton (D). Being Swindon’s penalty taker also makes Will Wright (D) a brilliant option this week, with multiple routes to points. Birmingham should keep their first clean sheet of the season this week, so Christoph Klarer (D) makes the cut too.

Midfielders

Stockport penalty taker and talisman Oliver Norwood (M) is the standout midfield pick heading into this week, in my opinion. I also think West Brom’s in-form Isaac Price (M) makes him a fantastic option at home. As good as Stevenage have been, I still think they can be leaky defensively, so the in-form Huddersfield man Ben Wiles (M) has a good opportunity ahead.

Forwards

Birmingham’s main man and penalty taker Jay Stansfield (F) feels like the pick of the bunch for his home match with Birmingham. Crewe’s Josh March (F) has been relentless both during pre-season and the start of the campaign, so he could do well again. You also have to consider Will Davies (F), who leads the Fleetwood attack.

Gameweek 4 Scout Squad: Club picks

The fixtures aren’t massively convincing this week, but Birmingham and Stockport both seem like standouts. I also expect results from Colchester and Huddersfield.

DANNY G SAID…

Goalkeepers

Corey Addai (G)Ryan Allsop (G) and Jay Lynch (G) all have solid home fixtures this week and are great picks.

Defenders

James Bolton (D) already has a goal to his name this season and provides routes to points at both ends. Will Wright (D)has the perfect matchup for him to secure a clean sheet; he is also a penalty-taking defender, which adds more value. Kristoph Klarer (D) Mr. reliable last season and the rock of the Birmingham defence.

Midfielders

Oliver Norwood (M) will be a lock for me this week as he is a great all-arounder in terms of interceptions, assists, and goals. I’m keen on Amario Cozier-Duberry (M), he has shown in his opening games that he offers a bit of everything. Idris El Mizouni (M) has been racking up interception points for fun so I think he will do well this week playing away to Mansfield.

Forwards

Jay Stansfield (F) is a great option this week, coming off the back of an important goal, and plays a team who have yet to win this season. Will Davies (F) has started the season in fine form with three goals, and plays newly promoted Oldham at home. Oliver McBurnie (F) comes off the back of two assists and a goal, facing a Blackburn side not in the best shape.

Gameweek 4 Scout Squad: Club picks

Birmingham have looked pretty solid and they’re against Oxford, who have lost both games, so I’ll be backing them. Stockport, I feel, will be too strong for Burton. I also back Southampton to beat Stoke at home. Wrexham should pick up their first win of the season against struggling Sheffield Wednesday.

DAN DAVE SAID…

Goalkeepers

Although they’re without a clean sheet yet, a nice home fixture means I’m backing Ryan Allsop (G) in goal. I expect Corey Addai (G) to keep his second shutout this weekend. Matt Macey (G) also has a nice home fixture against Barrow.

Defenders

Jack Tucker (D) has made 51 clearances already this season, so he should pick up a lot of defensive actions, and has decent clean sheet potential. Fleetwood have a nice home fixture against newly promoted Oldham. In three of the four Fleetwood games, James Bolton (D) has managed 10+ clearances. With the nice Oxford (H) fixture, I think it is the perfect time to bring Christoph Klarer (D) in.

Midfielders

Oliver Norwood (M) has multiple routes to points; he’s certain to be in my side. Amario Cozier-Duberry (M) is similar; he has also shown that he can get points in multiple routes so far. Isaac Price (M) is being praised by WBA fans and has impressed so far, with a strong upcoming home fixture.

Forwards

Jay Stansfield (F) has scored in consecutive games and has a great fixture. Will Davies (F) should add to his tally against the newly promoted Oldham. As a punt, I may back Ephron Mason-Clark (F), as I envision Coventry scoring multiple goals.

Gameweek 4 Scout Squad: Club picks

I expect Birmingham City to secure their first home win due to their defensive solidity. Stockport also have a nice home fixture against a team who don’t score too many goals. Colchester take on Barrow at home, which feels like a good chance of a home victory. Wrexham have played well this season but lost narrowly in both matches. I think this is the week when they pick up their first result.

MERLINS SAID…

Goalkeepers

Top pick this week is Birmingham’s Ryan Allsop (G), facing Oxford United – one of the likely relegation candidates. I prefer Allsop over any Birmingham defenders due to his clean sheet potential. MK Dons’ Craig MacGillivray (G) is also in excellent form, with seven consecutive clean sheets and another favourable fixture ahead. Colchester’s Matt Macey (G) is a solid option as well, especially now that key player Jack Payne is back from injury, lifting the overall team performance.

Defenders

Will Wright (D) from Swindon remains a reliable pick with penalty and set-piece duties. They play a Shrewsbury side struggling with form and squad issues. James Bolton (D), Fleetwood’s centre-back, is dependable for clearances and faces Oldham, who are finding it tough following promotion. Joseph Olowu (D) of Stockport scored last round and looks strong ahead of their match against Burton.

Midfielders

Ollie Norwood (M) is my key midfield pick – on penalties and set pieces, and contributing well defensively too. Ben Wiles (M) of Huddersfield has a more advanced role under manager Lee Grant and is showing strong influence. Isaac Price (M) from West Brom is also in top form under Ryan Mason.

Forwards

Will Davies (F) of Fleetwood has three goals and five shots on target in the first three matches. He faces newly promoted Oldham. Harry Smith (F) from Swindon is another solid option against a struggling Shrewsbury defence. Jay Stansfield (F) has started the season strongly and, being on penalties, remains a reliable pick.

Gameweek 4 Scout Squad: Club picks

The focus this round is on home teams with strong form, facing unsettled or weaker opponents. All selections follow this pattern for a safer and more strategic approach. For that reason, I selected Birmingham City, Stockport County, Huddersfield Town and Colchester United.
