We’re big-six-less in the three 3pm BST kick-offs today.

Two of the newly promoted sides square off at Turf Moor, while the other two clashes feature clubs that failed to win in Gameweek 1:

TEAM NEWS

Brentford boss Keith Andrews has tinkered the most out of the six managers on duty this afternoon.

He makes four changes in all, handing a first start to Jordan Henderson and a debut to Dango Ouattara.

It’s a much stronger Bees XI all round, indeed, with Mikkel Damsgaard back from paternity leave and Kevin Schade fit enough to start after injury restricted him to bench duty on the opening weekend.

Rico Henry, Fabio Carvalho, Antoni Milambo and Mathias Jensen all drop to the bench, with Keane Lewis-Potter moving back to left-back.

Despite training with the team this week and Andrews hinting he could be involved, the wantaway Yoane Wissa is again absent.

As for opponents Aston Villa, goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez returns after his ban. Marco Bizot makes way.

Unai Emery’s enforced change sees Pau Torres come in for the suspended Ezri Konsa.

Donyell Malen is, once again, only a substitute.

It’s much more straightforward team news from the Vitality Stadium, where Bournemouth are unchanged.

Wolverhampton Wanderers’ only alteration sees summer signing Jhon Arias come in for Andre.

New recruits Ben Gannon-Doak, Amine Adli and Jackson Tchatchoua are all among the substitutes.

The Cherries also have the fit-again Justin Kluivert and Ryan Christie back on the bench.

Finally, at Burnley, Scott Parker hands first starts of 2025/26 to two of his summer captures, Jacob Bruun Larsen and Lesley Oguchukwu.

Oliver Sonne and Josh Laurent make way.

Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris makes just one tweak, bringing in Omar Alderete for Jensen Seelt, who drops out despite being passed fit on Thursday.

Villa are regressing heavily, back to being bang average. Emery won’t stick around long with such financial restrictions.

If it's any consolation, if I'd FH this week, I'd have probably got two of those.

Watkins what a fraud, get out of my team (reverse phycology to get a "timing"/moment for him to score)

Problem is the alternatives will leave you equally disappointed so you may aswell hold and see if he is back for Fulham.

To be fair, how were we supposed to know they’d be so bad? They had an okay preseason (with Watkins banging in some goals) and they had the fixtures.
I’m not blaming myself anyway. It’s what we do about it now we know that counts…

I was saved from Rogers by that ankle injury he picked up in their final pre-season game.

Question is, would you sooner sell Watkins or Rogers?

Ollie out certainly makes Erling in easier.

    1. KAPTAIN KANE SERVES THE PAI…

Would rather have Watkins than Erling having watched both today’s games

    2. thegaffer82
      • 14 Years
      10 months, 29 days ago

Erling going up 0.1 means I don’t have any route to him that I even like anymore. Plus, I’m not sure that Citeh are all that anyway.
Happy to wait a few more weeks. I don’t think Brighton or United will be pushovers for them

Not liking Haaland, fixtures aren't great, Brighton away doesn't scream goals..optimal front line medium term with fixtures looks like Pedro, Richarlison, Wood

As a Palmer , Watkins & Haaland owner I must admit early wc is looking very tempting .
But taking those 3 out could easily end up badly although it doesn't look like it at the moment.

If Esteve can get one more point in the BP system (or Ekdal can drop one) then he’ll be on for 2 bonus points
