There’s not a Liverpool or Arsenal player in sight in the Scout Picks for Gameweek 3 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL).

We considered the Scout Squad submissions made by Neale (Editor), Tom (Deputy Editor), Sam (General Manager) and Marc (Staff Writer) before coming up with our final team.

As ever, there are certain restrictions for our picks:

  • An £83.0m budget for our starting XI
  • An overall squad limit of £100.0m
  • No more than three players per team

GAMEWEEK 3 SCOUT PICKS

GOALKEEPER

Robert Sanchez (£5.0m) gets the nod between the sticks ahead of Chelsea’s home match against Fulham on Saturday. The Spaniard has conceded just once in his two matches so far (an effort from 25+ yards, to boot), and given that Marco Silva’s side haven’t really impressed from an attacking perspective this season, a home clean sheet could well be on the cards.

    On a WC, final choice lies between Reijnder and Semenyo. Gut and short term Reijnder, brain and long term Semenyo. Who shall it be?

      I would just do Semenyo and know it's long term. I think it could be close over 3 but longer than that Semenyo should take the lead imo.

        Semenyo almost feels like the safer play, safer points over the season. Reijnders harder to say. Could blank, could rotate or lose minutes, or could stay hot and essential. City have more goals in them so there's that. Would you rather City or Bourn coverage.

      Why Newcastle?
      OK some decent fixtures but in a bit of turmoil with the Isak / Gordon situations. Personally, I’m steering clear of their forwards for now.
      Livramento is a good option though.

    He is now at an estimated -92%. There is a (big?) margin of error in that estimate as resolving which of the millions of transfers out is via wildcard/freehit is a non-exact task.
    There is a chance he might fall tonight. Again the model thinks he's closer to surviving than falling, but it got Saka wrong last night at -95% so beware. Trying my best to give a precise update but that's the best we have unfortunately."

    Went for the WC although maybe wouldn’t have if Ait Nouri was declared fit sooner!

      I would get Salah in, drop one of the spurs mids for Sarr or Semenyo. Gakpo could also go if funds are needed, Cunha or Mbuemo punt could be decent or even a punt on Barnes.

    Does it ever make sense to take a hit just to upgrade a defender, starting said defender, and banking on attacking returns over and above a clean sheet? Assumption being that, the defender you currently have and start gets a predictable 1 or 2 points in a tougher fixture. I feel like almost every time I take the chance and put my hand in the cookie jar the FPL gods strike me down with a predictable net points loss.

      I am also on WC and I'm not going Arsenal purely because 4 really bad fixtures. I will pick up arsenal after those.

      Liverpools defense doesn't look as solid as last year. Virgil getting monsterous DC, but not sure I'd prefer it over Cucu or Tarkowski. I'd say it's ok to go without. You have a good mix above.

      Too many spurs is difficult to answer. They were really bad last year, but they are doing really well right now. Also, their next 5 or so games look on the easy side, so I'm personally also going for 2 spurs in my WC.
